NBA 2K15 Richard Ortiz GM Story | Pride of a Winner ~ Remake ~

    Houston, Texas
    April 17, 2015 11:52pmCST

"And we're back. Thank you for tuning in with us and thank you the audience who's in attendance."

    Crowd cheers

"For those of you just now tuning in I'm John Lewis and welcome to this Lewis Show Special where we talk to some from very interesting people."

    Crowd cheers

"We've come to our final guest of the night. He is a former NBA general manager, the youngest in that franchise's front office history, and was considered possibly one of the most popular businessman to have ran a front office in the NBA. Everybody join me in welcoming Mr. Richard Ortiz!"

Crowd explodes in cheers as Richard Ortiz walks on stage with John Lewis, shaking his hand immediately as they meet.

Both John & Richard takes a seat

"I'm very excited that you could join us today, Richard."

Richard replies, "Come on, John, you're a good friend of mine. Of course if you ask imma come running." John and Richard both laugh at his comment.

"Well I'm gonna start by saying you have been through a tough time these pass 2 years."

Richard nods and replied saying, "Yeah. Things were going so tremendously & then things went down quickly & drastically."

"Tell us about that, my friend."

"Well like you all know I was a successful general manager of the Houston Rockets & in the process of feeling good about the franchise in its current state & it's future I knew big bucks were soon pouring in and life for my family would be easy."

"Wait let's show the fans watching a picture of your amazing family. Look at em aren't they just beautiful!"

Image of Ortiz's family is shown on the big screen behind them as the crowd applaud.

    "Continue Richard."

"I loved my family so much and it pains me everyday to remember that life altering call during the 12-13 season."

"Tell us what that call was, Richard."

Richard pauses for a second looking back at the image of his wife & son then looks out into the crowd before continuing, "My family were murdered by my cousin who I've considered a brother."

    Crowd murmurs in disbelief

"My cousin Keith Ortiz came to my home while I was in the office late and his mental condition took over & he took a kitchen knife and killed my wife & son. After he came to I guess he called me and told me what happened before turning himself in. Once I got to the house he was in handcuffs & put into a police car."

"Again I'm sorry that this transpired the way it did. Folks here's your murderer."

Immediately as Keith Ortiz's picture was shown on the screen the crowd boos.

John speaks again to calm the crowd down saying, "Look I know he murdered his family but he was a very sick man. During his court trial he confessed that an evil spirit made him do it."

    Crowd murmurs in confusion

John continues, "I know I know but he's still in a mental hospital getting help for his condition. What was it again?"

Richard answers, "Schizophrenia. Something I never realized he had till the doctors treated him. He always believed in this spirit named 'Godfrey' since we were kids but it was never this bad. I don't hate him for what he did but I was devastated."

"This drove you to do something that nearly ruined your life, correct?"

"Yeah it did. I went to drugs & alcohol to drown my pain away I soon became an addict. After I disappeared the Rockets's front office did what they could to keep the franchise together since I, the acting GM, vanished. A good friend of mine found me nearly dead in an abandon warehouse & helped me."

    "Who was this friend?"

Richard laughs then answers, "you, John Lewis."

    Crowd cheers

"I had to help you its what real friends do & since you sold your house to use the money for drugs & alcohol. You were messed up, homeless, & once the front office got the news jobless."

"Yeah, I went to rehab & decided I would get my life back on track. Which I did."

    Crowd explodes in cheers

"As you see we're all proud of you. What are you doing now my friend?"

"I'm living in a nice home in a suburban area outside of Houston. The people are nice out there. I'm working at this factory in Houston so I'm managing but oh do I miss the life I was living before my fall offs."

"You were living well but don't worry you'll be back in that just gotta have patience."

"Yeah. I'd love to get back being a general manager again. I'd GM any team."

"With the way you ran the Rockets I'm pretty sure someone will give you a chance. Plus sources from the Rockets's front office say that it was on your wishlist to get Dwight Howard."

"Yeah but it was just my wishlist they acted on it when I told them about my wishlist. Heck, who knew things turn out the way it did & he'd leave."

"Well we're running out of time. & before I bring out our live entertainment to close us out. I got 1 last question to ask you, Richard."

    "Go ahead."

"Do you believe in the 'evil spirit Golan' like your cousin too?"

Re: NBA 2K15 Richard Ortiz GM Story | Pride of a Winner ~ Remake ~

This is going to be a GM Dynasty (using MyLeague), focusing on all the personnel dynamics, off the court stuff, and pretty much everything else involved in running a team, originally inspired by trekfan’s Andy McCutcheon ‘chise and a remake of last year's Richard Ortiz GM Story. I'm starting out with a team I’d like to stay with for the long term, but I won't rule out moving on to a different team should storyline dictate as such. I been so reluctant to start up a 'chise cause it seems like when I start one something happens and I have to stop it before it gets going. Hopefully things will be different this time for I love doing these write-ups so I hope y'all enjoy.

I'll be using CWSapp757/Dreece Fictional Draft Classes starting with draft class 1. These classes are freaking amazing!

I will only be controlling one team the CPU will handle every other team. So far the A.I. has been doing surprising well with drafts and free agency sorta with trades but trade approval will still be on. I’ll be starting in the off-season of 2015.

I'll be playing about 2-5 games a month through the course of the entire season while playing every game of the playoffs, so I’ll actually be playing about 12-30 games a season adding with that however playoff games I play. The rest of the games will be simulated to keep things interesting. Any and all comments are welcome-bad or good (hopefully more good then bad haha). I can’t wait to begin this MyLeague hope you all enjoy.

Game & Console: NBA 2k15 (Xbox One)

      Toyota Center
      Houston, Texas
      April 25, 2015 7:46pmCST

Richard finds himself in front of the Toyota Arena home of the Houston Rockets. It's Game 4 of the First Round in the Playoffs against the Golden State Warriors and with Houston down 2-1 this game plans to be monumental. He stands there frozen in deep thought remembering the experiences he had here with his family and friends. It's been 2 years since he's been here and that last time was with his family. His legs felt heavy and the air seems thin, it was starting to become hard to breathe. Fans of all ages passed by him as though he was just a pillar in their way, not realizing who they're ignoring. He couldn't figure out why he came back here...

      And then it hit him...

      Literally

"You ready to go in yet, Rich?" John Lewis asked jokingly while mugging the back of Richard's shoulder to get his attention.

Richard replies, "Yeah, man, no clue why I stopped. Thanks again for kidnapping me and bringing me here."

They both laugh then John says, "Well if I didn't force you out your house do you really think you'd came? Especially if I told you I was bringing you here."

Richard sighs, "Yeah you probably right." Richard smiles then continues, "so where we sitting? Courtside or skybox?"

John pats Richard on the back, "Lets go and find out."

John walks in and Richard finally moves following behind him.

As they make their way toward an elevator Richard says, "John, you could of just said skybox. The elevator is a dead giveaway, man."

John replies while the elevator doors close, "Okay look, Rich, I got courtside seats. I've always got courtside seats."

Puzzled Richard replies, "Then why are we going upstairs?"

John cracks a smile, "I think you're going to be working in the front office again, my friend."

"WAIT! WHAT?!" Richard yelled shocked & amazed.

The elevator door opens and there stood a former colleague of Richard's back when he was the general manager.

"Kevin McHale?" Richard greeted the coach he hired back when he was GM.

"It's good to see you again. I'm just here to speak to you before the game. I have to go now but Tad is in Room 36 waiting to talk to you."

McHale makes his way into the elevator and leaves. Richard is trying so hard not to sprint to Room 36 his excitement is close to taking over.

"You ready? You can go on ahead in I will be at our seats. Here's your ticket. Come back with good news." John says as he leaves taking the stairs.

"I can't believe this is happening." Richard said thinking out loud.

Richard makes his way to Room 36 trying to figure out how this dream is becoming a reality.

He gets to Room 36 knocks and enters. There stood Tad Brown Chief Executive Officer of the Houston Rockets looking at me as I walk in. Even with all the background noise from the game and fans Tad doesn't budge.

Tad Brown acknowledges him, "Former General Manager Mister Ortiz..."

Richard acknowledges back, "Current Chief Executive Officer Mister Brown..."

There was this awkward stare between them both and Richard couldn't believe he was going through this again. Just like 2 years ago Tad Brown always makes introductions seem like a difficult task.

After 15 seconds of awkward silence Tad added saying, "It's good to see you again its been a long time." He reached out and shook my hand.

That was Tad Brown's awkward attempt at breaking the ice.

"It's good to be back in Toyota Arena I must say," Richard replied.

"Have a seat," Tad offered then as we both took a seat he continued, "Well as you may know your good friend John Lewis has been one of our faithful season ticket holders. & he's been going head over hills trying to get you back in the General Manager chair. After what you did 2 years we were reluctant to even consider you and apparently you recover quickly. Watching Lewis's show last week we're decided to put you back at the helm."

Richard stands then so does Tad Brown.

Richard shakes his hand while saying, "Wow. Are you kidding me? General Manager of the Houston Rockets once again with old friend Daryl Morey. Thank you so much things are looking up for me already."

Richard just couldn't stop smiling he couldn't believe he got his old job back it was to good to be true.

Tad Brown stops shaking hands, "Wait."

      Uh oh.

"I never said you were General Manager here."

It WAS to good to be true.

      "Now I'm confused," stated Richard.

Tad Brown added, "You are not the General Manager here. We don't need you here. You are the General Manager of another team and we'll be flying you there in 2 days. Congratulations are still in order."

Tad Brown shakes Richard's hand again but Richard stops it.

"Who's front office am I joining, Brown?" Richard questioned.

      "The Phoenix Suns."

          US Airways Arena
          Phoenix, Arizona
          April 28, 2015 10:26amMST

Inside the US Airways Arena Richard is running full sprint towards the Phoenix Suns' owner's office for his 10:30 interview. Exhausted and trying to catch his breath he nearly collapsed onto a chair near the office and checked his latex watch to see of he made it. He blew a sigh of relief as he made it with just 2 minutes to spare. He straighten up his outfit so it looks neat again. The outfit he's wearing is the best suit he could afford; white long sleeve button-down shirt with a long black and white striped tie, black slacks, and dark black gators that are so dark you can't see the gator skin imprinted on the shoe, along with a nice, tight but comfy fitting suit jacket. He prays that this interview goes well, so he can live the life of luxury again. Richard looks around the waiting area trying to calm his nerves and catch his breath.

Unexpectedly, the office doors of Robert Sarver's office flung open as though strong, tornado like winds blew the through.

A man comes storming out angry, frustrated, fed up.

It was Ryan McDonough the former General Manager of this here team.

Richard's attention was so focused on Ryan storming out the office he didn't realize that the secretary was trying to get his attention.

"Mister Ortiz, Mister Sarver is ready for you," the blond haired secretary stated after she finally got his attention.

Richard didn't respond he rose from his seat, fixed up his suit, and made his way into the owner's office.

As Richard entered Robert Sarver approaches him and shakes his hand, "Richard Ortiz."

Richard smiles shaking the owner's hand enjoying the moment.

"I'm Robert Sarver and I'm happy you could make it."

"Nice to finally meet you personally," Richard stated while shaking Robert's hand.

"I've heard so much about you and of course I read so much about you," Robert announced.

Richard pauses remembering all the bad things he's done but he keeps hope alive.

Robert continued, "Once I heard from Tad Brown that you needed a job we instantly remembered what you started in Houston. John Lewis told me not to many owners wanted to take you in and the ones that did wanted you weren't offering what we're offering."

Robert gives this grin confident that Richard has no other options.

Robert continued, "John Lewis strongly said you'd take the job and had some great ideas and plans for this team."

Richard smiles appreciative of what John Lewis did for him.

"I cannot promise you anything big but I promise once I start you'll believe that the future of the Phoenix Suns franchise will be bright," Richard announced.

"Hmm then what's your pitch?" questioned Robert then continues, "because we're willing to spend money if you're getting us money."

"Well this team is pretty young and so am I being 31 and all but what I have that this team doesn't have is an identity. This team has lost it's identity since Steve Nash and Amare Stoudemire left. Until I get started and have the tools I can't give you much detail of what I have planned but I will say this, the basketball operations staff is okay compared with the staff I had in Houston. This team; offensively has players on this team that can put the ball in the hole, defensively as a team isn't up to par. I know McDonough tried different things these past two or three years but nothing really works and slowly players want out. I'm going to do my best with this team starting with the draft. This is a team did finish the season 42-40 but it's not gonna cut it, so I want to bring a new core. I know the Lakers pick didn't go as planned seeing they're not gonna fall out of the top 5 when the lottery comes around. We will worry about that pick next year. However I know you personally you wanted Dre Redd and Chris Valentine I mean who doesn't. I'm willing to try and trade up to get them but I can't promise that."

Robert replies, "If you can make that happen things will be perfect."

"Again no promises but if you're patient with me we will be in the playoffs within the next 3 years and I'll be able to talk free agents to come play here and before you know this franchise will make a turnaround."

"I've heard enough. You're our man and we have faith in you," a persistent Robert said.

"You got 3 years on your contract and depending on how well your plan works out we'll determine adding or terminating," Robert added.

Smiling Richard asked, "Where do I sign?"

Richard begins reading over his contract then finally signs.

Once he finished signing he shook the owner's hand then said, "Oh yeah, I have a request."

A puzzled Robert asked, "What would that be?"

"Ryan McDonough. I want him as the Assistant General Manager," commanded Richard.

The Robert replies, "Done. You want him we'll bring him back."

                New Beginnings for Suns Franchise

                Charles M. Hunt

                June 24, 2015

PHOENIX - The Phoenix Suns start their first chapter in a new book as Robert Sarver, the Suns' owner, decided to go another direction by hiring former General Manager of the Houston Rockets Richard Ortiz as their new General Manager. When Ortiz announced he wanted to get back into the GM office, after being out for over two years, on the popular Lewis Show Suns owners did not hesitate to sign him. Ortiz along with then partner Daryl Morey got the Rockets franchise to where they are now. Ortiz started the movement bringing Jeremy Lin and then later James Harden to Houston. Ortiz's credentials are nothing to miss but what he did to the Rockets many executives were hesitant to bring him to their organization.

One anonymous NBA executive who wasn't sold on getting Ortiz had this to say, "Ortiz was mentally unstable after his family was murdered whats to say he has the right mindset to run a team."

Another NBA executive who will remain anonymous stated, "(Richard Ortiz) vanished without a trace leaving the Rockets with no insight on his whereabouts put them in a huge bind...I don't want that to happen here."

                Anything could happen.

I spoke with Richard Ortiz he gave one statement, "It's time to find a real identity that works here in Phoenix and stick to it."

                A strong statement Mister Ortiz.

The last time the Phoenix Suns made the playoffs was when Steve Nash and Amare Stoudemire was leading the pack that team was going the right direction. However, all of those ideas departed the Stoudemire decided to leave. This past season the Suns still couldn't find themselves in the playoffs after going 42-40. The fans are just ashamed and restless now.

Ortiz started a movement after his biggest move so far in the off season. He hired a whole new basketball operations staff, but mainly the directors of their category got the pink slip. The way Ortiz were dropping people everyone were surprised he kept Jeff Hornacek as head coach.

Ortiz stated his reasons for keeping Hornacek, "Hornacek is a good coach and I wanna give him another year to state his claim but his top assistant Jackson Thomas is my choice and things can happen in the future."

Could this be Coach Hornacek's final season as the head coach of the Phoenix Suns?

However all over the state of Arizona fans are slowly believing in the new Suns GM. Hope is beginning to surface from the 'ride or die' fans. With the 2015 NBA Draft tomorrow drafting or attaining players like Dre Redd and Chris Valentine would make things perfect.

The Suns have the 14th Overall pick and they're rumored to be pushing to trade up trying to get into the Top 5 since the Lakers did not fall outside of the Top 5 the Suns have to acquire their pick next year.

If Richard Ortiz pulls off a miracle and does trade up to get Dre Redd, Chris Valentine, Lucas Bowe or even Tashawn Sullivan there's no where but up for the Phoenix Suns franchise.

                  June 25, 2015 7:30pmEST

"Alright everyone this is it, Draft Day!" announced Richard.

Everyone in the war room is anxiously waiting to begin the draft hoping that they can somehow pull off a miracle to have a chance at grabbing the best players in this year's draft.

"It's 7:30 and we have 30 minutes before the Utah Jazz are on the clock. I want one of those top five picks and I know all of you are with me. We're gonna keep figuring out a way to trade up until they're pick is officially in. I do wanna know something though. With all the mock drafts we accumulated over the week who are they most likely getting?"

Ryan McDonough answers, "All our sources are predicting that Dre Redd will be picked by the Jazz at number 1."

Richard keeps smiling trying to give hope to his staff inside the War Room, "Of course they're projected to pick Dre Redd first. We still have the 2-5 overall picks to try and convince them they don't want this pick right now. This movement we've started I want it to keep flourishing. The Jazz could shock the world and pick someone else at #1 or heck they trade it to us. Let's keep our heads up, stay optimistic, and don't lose hope. Now lets get down to business and get one of these picks!"

Everyone in the war room cheers pumped up and ready to prepare for this draft.

Sarver is in the war room ecstatic to have Richard as the GM of their team. He never realized how someone could get him and everyone else in the war room excited for the draft. Sarver went to shake hands with Richard just grateful for what he is doing and what he's trying to get done. He haven't been so excited for this franchise since Nash and Stoudemire was leading the Suns.

Everyone's hope in him and the franchise is just enough for Ortiz to do what he needs to push himself.

Richard finds himself in a huge bind. The NBA Draft has commenced and the Jazz would not take any offers for the #1 pick and all hope were starting to diminish in the war room as Andy Katz announced that the Utah Jazz wasn't taking any more offers for they are keeping the #1 pick. However, the war room weren't completely down about the announcement because there's still a huge chance they could acquire one of the next 4 picks.

McDonough approaches Richard and talks to him privately, "Richard, do you really think that we'll pull this trade off? I need your honest opinion."

Richard's movement is to establish hope throughout the front office and the entire city of Phoenix because that's all realistically he can offer right now. He didn't want his assistant GM to lose hope neither, "Honestly, yes I really think we'll get one of these next 4 picks."

"You really seem sure of yourself..." as McDonough was about to walk away and join the others he stopped and asked, "What is your plan if we don't move up?"

Richard shakes his head in disappointed and replied, "Ryan, don't worry about that. Focus on the task at hand for now and lets wait to see the results."

"Everybody the Jazz's pick is in!" announced Sarver.

Everyone in the war room silenced and gave their full undivided attention to the monitor waiting for NBA Commissioner Adam Silver to approach the podium to announce who the Utah Jazz is picking #1 overall.

Adam Silver walks from backstage and approaches the podium. The air was thick the crowd in attendance was quiet. The anticipation of finding out who was going #1 was murder. Everyone knew but no one was for sure besides the Utah Jazz and Adam Silver. Adam Silver looks out into the crowd smiling then looks at his note card.

Everyone in the Suns war room is holding their breath.

"With the number one overall pick the Utah Jazz select..."Adam Silver pauses then continues, "Dre Redd, the Center out of University of Northern Las Vegas. The Philadelphia 76ers are now on the clock."

                  Cheers roared.

Soon later Adam Silver returns to the podium and announce some shocking news. The Philadelphia 76ers have chosen Keith Crosby at #2.

Richard was kinda lost for words and so was everyone else. The 76ers drafted a player nearly identical to the player they already have in Nerlens Noel instead of drafting the best player available which was Chris Valentine.

The Suns still wasn't getting any deals done and they have the #3 pick which belongs to the Indiana Pavers, the #4 pick which belongs to the Los Angeles Lakers, and #5 pick which belongs to the Orlando Magic. Can Richard somehow still acquire the Pacers' pick, the Lakers' pick again, which is rumored to being on the market since the Draft Lottery made them fall from the #1 spot to #4, or trade with the Magic.

Nearly everyone in the room panicked they didn't know what to do or how to react. Richard smiled and nodded his head whispering to his self. He looks out at everyone in the war room still smiling before attempting to get everyone's attention.

Once Richard obtained everyone's attention he began to speak, "I know everyone is liking how things are looking. I understand how bad this organization want to get into the Top 5 and I promise you I'm gonna get us there."

                  "How?" McDonough interrupted.

Richard didn't respond actually he left the room for a couple of minutes. Time was running out and the Pacers' pick was in. They chose Chris Valentine at #3 overall.

Panic spread in the war room once again. Jeff Hornacek who was also in the war room stood by and pondered on what Richard is doing.

Richard walks back in the room and instantly the staff starts yelling at him about Chris Valentine being chosen by the Pacers. That's who they wanted and oh so truly desired. Richard put his hand up and as his surrounding silenced he spoke, "Chris Valentine isn't who we want."

Everyone was confused then Richard points at the television and Adam Silver is at the podium making an announcement. The war room was quiet as it ever could of been. The NBA Commissioner states that the Los Angeles Lakers traded the #4 overall to the Phoenix Suns. The Lakers gets the Suns' #14 pick.

"I can assure you that this is the right thing for us," Richard stated trying present his final point. Then he continued, "I gave up Bledsoe, T.J. Warren, and P.J. Tucker and of course the #14 pick to get the Lakers' pick but we did get Nick Young and Jeremy Lin in the deal as well."

The Phoenix Suns are on the clock.

Everyone didn't know what to say or how to react. Richard took matters into his own hand and did get them in the Top 5 but they player they desired was gone. Who else is on the board that they want?

Out of nowhere McDonough explodes, "This makes no sense. Why take this pick? Valentine is gone and you traded away our All-Star for 2 washed up players. I really don't get you, Richard. You..."

Ryan stops talking as he notices Richard making the call, "We're drafting Rashard Wallace."

                  Richard hangs up the phone.

Jeff Hornacke speaks up, "Wallace! You're joking? Didn't we just say he's a liability yesterday. Remember his left ankle is bad!"

Once Adam Silver announced to all those in attendance that the Phoenix Suns were selecting the point guard out of USC, Rashard Wallace, with the 4th pick the crowd cheered and inside the Suns war room there was a mixed reaction.

"Rashard was the player I planned to pick since I got here. No matter what get Rashard Wallace I repeatedly reminded myself. Trust me, you guys, this is the right pick for us," Richard stated.

Introducing the Suns' 2015 Draft Picks

The Phoenix Suns could of had 3 picks going into the 2015 NBA Draft. However the Draft Lottery did not make that possible giving the Lakers' this year's 4th overall pick. The Suns was left with 2 of their own picks; the last pick in the lottery (14th overall) and their 2nd round pick (44th overall). Going into the draft it looked as though the Suns were going to pray they draft a hopeful to compliment the core they had in Eric Bledsoe, Brandon Knight, and Markieff Morris and invest in Free Agency.

Plans changed. The Suns would trade up from the 14th overall pick to the 4th overall pick in the draft thanks to the Los Angeles Lakers. The Suns lost All-Star guard Eric Bledsoe, veteran forward P.J. Tucker and rookie T.J. Warren but acquired Swaggy P and Jeremy Lin in the process while still maintaining the Lakers' 2016 future pick. At the end of the day, the Heat would end up having 2 brand new faces on the roster, let's take a look at both of them.

1st Round, 4th Pick: PG Rashard Wallace

I think it's fair to say the most exciting move of the 2015 NBA Draft, the Phoenix Suns decided to trade up into the Top 5 of the draft and take the point guard out of University of Southern California. Let's take a look at the 19-year old.

Analysis: Rashard Wallace is a big body point guard at the size of 6'5" weighing 210 pounds which is about the size you would dream for your point. Capable of playing the shooting guard position he's a athletic freak who arguably is the best high flyer in this year's draft. To make things better he's young only playing one year of college ball. Wallace is a very expressive player and it shows in his game responding and hyping himself up when making big plays. This kid is prime time when you're down 3 with 18 seconds remaining in the game you can bet your life he's gonna go hard and fight for that win. Like mentioned before he's a athletic monster and that's what he excels at, but that's not the only thing his game is built around. The kid's a two way player capable of holding his own on the defensive end and one of the top 5 best scorers in the draft capable of shooting on the move and finishing at the basket with both hands. Even though he's considered a shoot-first point he is possibly the top 5 best passer in the draft. He wasn't mentioned a lot as a Top 5 pick mostly because of a injury concern with his left ankle but the Suns is ignoring that analysis.

                    2nd Round, 14th Pick: C Dequinton Rhodes

While Rashard Wallace was the only pick in the 1st Round the Suns took, they decided to keep their 2nd round selection after rumor has it they were planning on trading it away.

Analysis: He's going to be the second biggest player on the Phoenix Suns a inch shorter than Alex Len. Standing at 7'0" and ironically while Len weigh 255 pounds Rhodes is just one pound less at 254. Now let's talk about the skills he has...it's really difficult to see what his role be in the league if he sticks around. He's a big guy but he's such a raw player. He's barely average in anything but I guess his size, interior defense, and rebounding is what the 21-year old out of Louisiana Tech has going for him right now.

Hope you enjoyed reading the analysis on the Suns' 2015 Selections! The real question now is how will they fare in the big leagues?

Brandan Wright and Marcus Thornton resigns for 1 more year!

The Phoenix Suns announced on twitter that they had reached an agreement with forward Brandan Wright and guard Marcus Thornton. Both signed a 1-year deal with a team option just incase the Suns wanted to keep them again. Wright resigned for a 1+1yr/$1.79M deal receiving $1.87M in 2016 if the Suns choose to opt in while Thornton resigned for a 1+1yr/$3.49M receiving $3.65M in 2016 if the Suns choose to opt in for him as well.

Both players took less hoping to have another chance at redeeming themselves. Especially Wright who only played 17 games last season averaging 1.3PPG, 2.1RPG, shooting .462% from the field playing 5.9MPG. He has been plagued with injuries his entire career never really developing. Everyone was scratching their heads after this signing however the 27-year old will give them veteran experience (7th season) on the bench as he's looking like the backup power forward.

Thornton is a guard who can shoot the basketball very well. However he too was plagued with injuries last season playing 66 games averaging 11.6PPG, 1.7RPG, and 3.0APG shooting .372% from downtown playing 25.6MPG. When he did play he contributed but last season his only competition for PT was Archie Goodwin. This year Nick "Swaggy P" Young will be his competition as well. The 7 year veteran has a lot to prove if he wants to see floor.

Regarding the Sun's salary cap situation right now, they have plenty room to do more. The Suns are over the cap and have 2.73M remaining in MLE space to sign free agents. Thus this means many ideal players are still capable of being signed. We'll know much more in the coming days what exactly is new Suns' GM Richard Ortiz has planned for the future.

Phoenix Suns, Greg Harris agree to 1yr/$1.74M deal!

After just playing only 9 games last season for the Dallas Mavericks and barely getting a minute of playing time the Phoenix Suns has decided to take their chances and sign the 6'10" center Greg Smith to a 1+1yr/$1.74M deal with a team option. The 24-year old hasn't found a home nor a role in the league. It has been known that Smith will be starting out playing as backup center behind Alex Len. Smith lends on rebounding while being a average interior defender which is the reason for why the Suns went this route. However after Smith injured his left knee he's been a ticking time bomb and his development suffered hopefully his bad luck ends here.

In other news the Suns have also resigned forward Gerald Green to a 1yr/$1.51M deal. Green played 52 games last season averaging 9.0PPG and 1.7RPG shooting .446% from the field and .339% from deep playing 16.9MPG. He played all 82 games last season playing healthy as a ox but he was hit with the injury bug as well. Hopefully this season as he's playing behind Marcus Morris he can contribute and stay healthy.

Wild Ride during Free Agency Period

With LeBron James and Kevin Love returning to the Cavaliers, Damian Lillard and Anthony Davis signing big-time extensions, Tim Duncan playing one more year for San Antonio, and Marc Gasol staying in Memphis as everyone believed there was still a lot of shocking and head scratching signings that made you spit out your morning coffee. Some may surprise you some may not but here's the big signing headlines of the free agency period.

DETROIT - The restricted free agent Greg Monroe resigned with his team long-term taking a max 5yr/$74.83M deal. He knows that Andre Drummond may very well be a future superstar and if he can be that guy who picks up the pieces on easy buckets from not being the main offensive threat with Reggie Jackson and Brandon Jennings. Good move by both Detroit and Monroe.

Al Jefferson takes his talents to San Antonio

SAN ANTONIO - All I gotta say is...HOLY CRAP SPURS! San Antonio and Al Jefferson has agreed to a 4yr/$51.15M deal to have Jefferson be the man in the middle to compliment the returning Tim Duncan. This is could be a great pickup but because of Jefferson's lack of defense this could go wrong.

Paul Millsap & Monta Ellis headlines a big free agency class for the New York Knicks

NEW YORK - Big round of applause for Phil Jackson! Paul Millsap and Monta Ellis, now add Wesley Matthews and Enes Kanter all joining Carmelo Anthony and Marcus Crier (6th overall pick in the 2015 Draft). Is the future of New York looking bright? Hmm there's a big chance this might work. However they could fall flat on their face again. Phil Jackson looks like he knows what he's doing and he took advantage of signing Millsap to a 4yr/$42M deal, Ellis to a 3yr/$36M deal, and Matthews and Kanter to a 3yr/$19M deal respectively. This is the new core can this be a Championship contending team?

Dallas Mavericks "steals" Bradley Beal and resigns Rajon Rondo

DALLAS - After a lot of sources and speculations saying that Rondo is leaving the Mavericks, it turns out everyone was wrong as he resigns with Dallas agreeing to a 4yr/$63.58M deal. He's giving them another chance and he's willing to sit on his ego for the betterment of the team. Also it could be because they joined him in the backcourt with former Wizard guard Bradley Beal. The Wizards could not match the offer that the Mavs were offering him. So congrats to the Mavericks for resigning Rondo and signing Beal to a 4yr/$49.77M deal. Rondo, Beal, and Parsons is the future of the Dallas Mavericks. Also I like to mention that Beal wasn't the only Wizard the Mavs stolen, signing Kevin Seraphin to a 2yr/$5.13M deal.

                            2015-2016 Phoenix Suns Rotation

It's that time to take a look at the rotation...compared to last season this is a nearly a completely new team here. Honestly though this team is nowhere near capable of let alone surviving their division then competing in the Western Conference. Strangest things happen in the NBA though so you never know what will happen.

                            Starters:
PG: Rashard Wallace | 30 minutes
SG: Nick Young | 29 minutes
SF: Marcus Morris | 24 minutes
PF: Markieff Morris | 32 minutes
                            C: Alex Len | 25 minutes

                            Bench:
                            6th: Marcus Thornton | 28 minutes
                            7th: Jeremy Lin | 24 minutes
                            8th: Brandan Wright | 20 minutes
                            9th: Archie Goodwin | 15 minutes
                            10th: Greg Smith | 13 minutes

                            Reserves:
                            #1: Danny Granger
                            #2: Gerald Green
                            #3 Dequinton Rhodes

So there you have it! Not resigning Brandon Knight have made this team look weak. Quite interesting that Coach Hornacek has Marcus Morris starting instead of sliding Swaggy P to the 3 and starting Marcus Thornton but Thornton will still see starter minutes.

After being the 3rd scoring option last season Markieff Morris will be the #1 go-to-guy this year with the rookie Rashard Wallace being the 2nd scoring option then Nick Young being the 3rd. This season looks like something the fans will not be happy with.

                              October 24, 2015 12:00amMST

Richard stares out his window looking out at the bright lights in the city of Phoenix. He's been in the office all day as darkness covered the sky only receiving light from the half moon and the city's buildings. He's trying to focus on the future for the present isn't looking so bright though he knew things were gonna look bad in the beginning. The Preseason has passed and Rashard Wallace showed that he was up to the task of playing in this league, but that was only the Preseason where defenses aren't keyed in and all the players are laid back. The real NBA season begins tomorrow with the Suns' season opener against the Minnesota Timberwolves is in 3 days. Richard had faith in his golden boy and he knew that in the regular season he will continue to do well.

After pondering for so long there was a knock at his office door. He quickly took a look at the clock hanging from the wall, it was ten till midnight. Now puzzled Richard questioned who was at the door and the voice was very faint. He decided to just go and open the door himself.

                              There was no one there.

Richard knew without a shadow of a doubt that someone was outside his door. He took a peek around the corner looking out to see if anyone was there with him.

                              He was alone.

Deciding to not spend to much time thinking about it he returned to his office. Once in he closed the office doors and made his way back to his desk. Immediately as he sat down in his comfortable office chair the knocks returned. Richard jumps up and sprints to his doors to catch the culprit behind this sad excuse of a joke.

Once again no one was there.

Frustration rose inside of him as he storms farther out in the hallway. He yells out out of anger even putting out a threat that he knows he'd never follow through with it. After realizing he's yelling at nothing he calms himself down and returns to his office. Richard has been working all day he believes it's just his sleep getting the best of him.

Richard returns to his office and shuts the door behind him. He sat down at his his desk beginning to pack up then suddenly the lights in his office goes out. Richard was startled for a second looking up at the lights pondering what could of happened to the power. He stands from his seat then walks to the corner of his office near the exit attempting to try and turn the lights back on flipping the switch up and down. Nothing happened and Richard is trying his best to not panic returning to his desk. Once to his desk there was a bang like someone slammed their fist against the wall, it was loud of enough to get Richard to flinch.

He started looking around seeing nothing but darkness with only a little light beaming from the window. on the other side of the room standing in the corner farthest away from his desk he noticed a shadowy figure standing there. Richard froze in fear he didn't know what it was but he felt that he's in serious trouble.

"Who are you? Why are you here? What do you want?" questioned a frightened Richard.

There was no answer. Then suddenly the dark figure began to slowly approach him. Richard was to scared to move it was moving so slow he could of made a run for it and got away but fear held him down making his legs feel heavy as though they weighed a ton. His hands begun to shake, the air got thin and cold, the hair on his body started to stand up as the the figure got closer and closer. It made it to the desk beginning to walk through it to get to him and right then Richard finally got enough courage to take off. He didn't have far once he made it to the doors he quickly opened but escape was impossible the dark figure stood before him outside the office.

                              Without warning it attacked.

Richard rose from his desk screaming out of fright.

"It was just a dream," stated Richard calming himself back down.

This isn't the first time Richard had this frightening nightmare. It's been occurring since he gotten the general manager position in April and he doesn't understand why these dreams keep reoccurring.
