Legends you would like to see in MLB the show
Now I know this is going to be fantasy as there is a lot of licensing and stuff through the MLBPA, but I'm just curious to see what you legends you guys would see in the game. Personally, I'd like to see Honus Wagner (his baseball card irl is worth so much [emoji30] ) Ty Cobb (tigers fan) and of course willy mays. What do you guys and why?Tags: None -

Hmm.... I don't know if they've used Reggie Jackson before, but I'd like to see him (as an Athletic!). Griffey Jr. for sure, Randy Johnson would be amazing. Catfish Hunter, Willie McCovey, Sandy Koufax, Roberto Clemente, Stan The Man, Cy Young.... I'm sure some of the guys I've listed or would add if I kept going have already been used.Comment

Re: Legends you would like to see in MLB the show
I don't really know much about baseball.
But Ken Griffey and Babe Ruth are at the top of my list (if people whine about Ted Williams, I wonder what they'll say about Ruth's stats if he ever makes it into the game).
Also I'm the only one who wants this, but I'd like a female legend (Dorothy Kamenshek) in the game.Comment

Re: Legends you would like to see in MLB the show
I'd like to see them make a few tweaks to the legend system.
1) Remove them from the market, make them collections and packs only
2) 2 Per team - Pitcher and Player
3) Completed Collection Unlocks Player (Random Choice, Players Choice or Lowest Rated)
4) Packs contain "UNLOCK LEGEND" which allow you to CHOOSE what legend you want to unlock.
I think this would be good for the studio as people would be forced to by buy packs, as well as this would slow down some of the legend progression as it would force teams to gather a ton of players before unlocking several legends and if you go with random choice, you may not even get the legend you want forcing you to buy packs.
Here's the list of Legends that I think would be nice
Boston : Ted Williams & Pedro Martinez
New York : Whitey Ford & Yogi Berra
Tampa Bay : Roberto Hernandez & Fred McGriff
Toronto : Dave Stieb & Carlos Delgado
Baltimore : Cal Ripken & Jim Palmer
Cleveland : Kenny Loften & Bob Feller
Chicago : Jack McDowell & Frank Thomas
Kansas City : George Brett & Kevin Appier
Minnesota : Kirby Puckett & Walter Johnson
Detroit : Ty Cobb & Mickey Lolich
Texas : Nolan Ryan & Ivan Rodriguez
Houston : Jeff Bagwell & Billy Wagner
Oakland : Dennis Eckersley & Rickey Henderson
Seattle : Ken Griffey Jr. & Randy Johnson
LA : Rod Carew & Chuck Finley (Or Jim Abbott - Great Story)
Atlanta Braves : Greg Maddux & Hank Aaron
Philadelphia Phillies : Mike Schmidt & Steve Carlton
New York Mets : Tom Seaver & Mike Piazza
Washington Nationals : Vlad Guerrero & Steve Rogers
Miami Marlins : Luis Castillo & Al Leiter
St. Louis : Ozzie Smith & Bob Gibson
Pittsburgh : Ralph Kiner & Sam Leever
Milwaukee : Robin Yount & Ben Sheets
Chicago : Ernie Banks & Kerry Wood
Cincinnati : Johnny Bench & Jim Maloney
LA : Sandy Koufax & Jackie Robinson Or Roy Campanella
San Francisco : Willy Mays (But I Love Will Clark) & Christy Mathewson
Arizona : Luis Gonzalez & Curt Schilling
San Diego : Trevor Hoffman & Tony Gwynn
Colorado : Larry Walker Or Todd Helton & Brian FuentesComment

Re: Legends you would like to see in MLB the show
What would be cool is having "tiered" legends, basically Diamond, Gold, Silver and Bronze retired players. Guys you remember watching growing up, but aren't exactly HOF'ers. Thousands come to mind, I doubt it'll happen but it would be sweet.
Guys like Tim Wakefield, Mike Timlin, Orlando Cabrera, Jay Buhner, David Justice, etc and etc. It'll add hundreds of cards, keep things fresh and could essentially come out with "Legend" packs that're like the regular packs except they're all retired but remembered players.Go NATS!
Go CAPS!

Re: Legends you would like to see in MLB the show
I like what they do in madden in terms of collections. Like they have rookie cards of certain players and as someone said before different tears (bronze silver gold elite ect). It would also be good for them to add certain collections for different times of the year. Like an Allstar break collection where you collect a certain number of players of this years all star team to receive a throwback legend all star card (ken Griffey jr). Increasing the pool of players is vital for this mode to stay freshComment
