What is a good affordable line-up to beat the 2BG challenge?

I just lost the challenge by 6 (141-147) and my main problem was stopping hakeem. What silver or gold players do you recommend to shut down this force of a player? Hakeem went 11/13, where all his shots were predominantly 18 foot fadeaways. West had 30. Jordan only had 22.

Without lebron (who had 46/6/9) or PG (who had 42/7/3/5) I would've lost by 30 odd I'd say. My starting 5 was lbj, pg, haywood, gortat and dwight (who got fouled out at the start of the 3rd). My bench rotation was jrue holiday, ariza, bogut, jimmy butler and pau gasol.

It seems like the only way you can beat this thing is on the rim, so who should i substitute/add (besides lbj, who was great for me). Historic golds are not within my budget btw. Cheers

Is the old Dr J out of your budget too? The 84-85 one thats like 9k?

He is solid at getting to the rim and coverting and would serve as a solid punch off the bench. You could get rid of Dwight and have him as your 3rd Gold.

Bigs in these kind of challenges are useless for the most part.

Yeah, I'd take out Dwight. Except for the historic golds like Hakeem, there's not that big of a difference between the better silvers like Deandre, Pekovic, and Bogut (my favorites).

I keep a completely badged up silver squad of Dragic, Klay, Korver, Pau, Ryan Anderson (epic shooter) to pair with Curry, Lebron, and Hakeem because I stay demoted a lot haha. I can gaurantee you'll see a big improvement in their play making tenacious rebounder, scrapper, and break starter gold at minimum.

Haven't done this challenge, because I don't mess with 12 minute quarters, but you probably need a pure shooter. You've got really good defense and attacking in PG and Lebron. Maybe put Melo or Curry out there.

I wouldn't use Curry. I it beat with Westbrook-KD-LBJ. Go for really athletic players that can finish.

I have only got around 10k spending money. I might throw durant in for dwight and start bogut. Its pretty cheese to start lebron at point but in this challenge it needs to be done. So I might go: lebron, pg, durant, gortat and bogut. Deandre is too expensive for me at the moment.

It is extremely hard to knock down 3s as well, so I might give westrbook a try. Yet, I really don't want to have to attempt this challenge a number of times.

Along with Bogut, two of the more economical very good Silver Centers are Roy Hibbert and Tyson Chandler. I use the three as my Center rotation in such Challenges because they're good enough that the Gold allowance is better used in positions 1-4. And, actually, 1-3, because David West and Greg Monroe can get you what you need at 4.

So then you use the three Golds at 1-3 and make sure you use guys who can both shoot outside/midrange and also finish at the basket. I.e. LBJ, PG, and KD. Or maybe Kawhi Leonard, who's very cheap. Or go more traditional and use CP3/Wall/Lillard at 1 (all cheap), and LBJ/PD at 2/3 or 3/2, depending on your preference.

You have to cheese to win the challenge, I shot 0ver 75% and barely beat it, I cheesed by spamming this one play, I scored like 70pts with Josh Smith (I had Smith at PG) and 60 with Vince Carter, heres the play..

Keep doing this, the cpu is to stupid to adjust to it and you will score everytime...

I beat it on my 2nd try, lost by 3 in my 1st game.

I beat it a second time (for fun) with CP3-Hayward-Lebron-Diaw-Gasol.

My tips are:

- Play a slow paced game. You won't be able to keep up with players like Jordan, Pippen in a high tempo game.
- Manage your players fatique as best as you can. Don't tire out your gold players if you don't have a deep bench with good silvers. Use all your time outs before the game ends.
- Take smart shots, try to limit their transition by not chasing offensive boards. They are too fast, and they can score very easily on transition.
- Don't gamble on defense. It's not likely that you'll strip the ball off players like Jordan, Jerry West etc. Don't double team, as they are all good passers and they'll find the open man. Play safe and secure D...
- Run plays, pick&rolls etc. Don't force isolation. They are too good defenders to beat 1v1.

score majority your points against the opposing as they can't stay with lebron or durant
