Franchise Mode Still Giving Users No Control

I play the game solely as an offline franchise guy and madden puts so much into the online franchise experience, that offline franchises are laid out the exact same way. In an offline franchise it shouldn't matter wether the user wants to play games with his user controlled team or a cp controlled team.

Users aren't granted the opportunity to play key games like the super bowl or a thanksgiving day matchup if they aren't controlling that specific team which should be irrelevant for an offline franchise.

Even if the user does control a specific team like the cowboys, for the thanksgiving day game the user can't switch to the opponent to make them wear a throwback uniform as both teams often do on those Holliday games. When will EA give us some control back?

I have found a workaround for that. I turn on my second controller and then use it to change the cpu's uniform to which ever one I want. After that I move the second controller back to the middle and then turn off that controller. When I get into the game it saves the uniform I selected.

I get why they are so specific on online franchise I just don't see why they can't make it simple for offline users as NCAA was without having to take the time to select all 32 teams and then mess with their team settings. Glad I found others who agree.

I think, for better or worse, they are really trying to get away from offline franchise. I wouldn't be surprised if down the road they remove it altogether. With online they're able to push server side updates without having to go through the Sony or Microsoft validation.

Oh I agree. I am not a fan of being forced to play online to get things sooner. But it just seems to be the wave of the future with games. Digital downloads, saves in the cloud, online franchise, etc. I may not agree with it but it sure looks like it's here to stay.

Just on the topic of improving franchise mode in general -
I wish they gave us less video game created features like drive goals or XP stuff, and instead implemented more team interviews, cut scenes, story lines. I think that's the angle we really love about franchise/season mode - having our great players/team get realistic & in depth media coverage. Get some hype. This is what dominates our regular football lives everyday during the week - the coverage, storylines, interviews. I shouldn't have to use my imagination to be like "Oh this QB/RB tandem is tearing up the league. They're the talk of the league" I want that angle to be oversaturated by Madden. I want that tandem to have cut scenes in the locker room. I want the whole team to have cut scenes in the locker room getting the speech from the coach. More stuff like that, it's such a huge huge HUGE angle in real life, non represented in the game tho. I'm really longing for it, man

I wish they'd give us something like NFL live at the end of each week or break close games or big plays during games that's what I miss from 2k football

Just go play NBA 2K madden developers, and take some SERIOUS notes on how a franchise mode should be made..

Salary cap slider/switch, financial ambitions slider, injury slider/switch, progression/regression slider, chemistry slider/switch, trade sliders, STAR trades sliders, cpu-cpu trades on/off, cpu-cpu trade aprooval, custom playbooks useable in SIMULATION, gameplanning for all other 29 teams, players can have multiple or even career ending injuries, league realignment (edit divisions/conferences) ability to edit draft classes or import, ability to edit any roster without 30 team control, predraft workouts, predraft shootarounds, ACTUALLY being able to see players ratings in free agency, summer league games, simcast, offseason training, retired players becoming coaches/gms, each team has different teambuiling/trading methods, simple training (What your player will focus on improving each practice, simply change at will or leave to default).

And now NBA has imported relocation that is already better than Maddens, your able to not only COMPLETELY customize your arena (including every detail of your court, the type and color of wood, your stands, the basket, your press boxes, scoring table, hundreds of arena SOUNDS, what ads play in your arena, what goes on your jumbotron, types of seats and the colors, CUSTOM logos, and editable uniforms w/ custom colors) but also outside things to increase revenue like parking structures, arena transportation, merchandise stores, wifi, resteraunts etc

Madden is seriously light years behind and they will never catch up

2k is always next level with franchise mode and the control they give us. I wish maddens offline franchise was set up the same way 2k's is.

I'm an "offline" guy too I'm the sense that I play franchise alone, however I do a single player online private franchise simply for the faster sim speeds.
