Re: Chl in be a gm?
No GM mode with CHL teams.
The only leagues GM Mode is available for is the AHL and NHL.
I'm really hoping they add that for NHL17. I'd love to run an OHL team. -
Re: Chl in be a gm?
How cool would it be to have a continuous cycle of guys getting brought into the NHL, new players coming in, etc.? College Hoops 2k8 has probably my favorite franchise/dynasty mode ever because of the huge emphasis on recruiting and the player turnover. If an EHM-lite franchise mode (where you can start in the CHL and work your way up to the NHL) got combined with EA's gameplay I'd probably never leave the house.Comment

I'm not a big college sports guy, but I really like that dynamic of how the rosters get recycled every 3-4 years and the importance of proper recruiting to build a strong program.
The same dynamics are seen with CHL teams. I would absolutely love to have that option in an NHL game.
Hopefully next season they add this.
I also find that the player differential is far greater when playing CHL games. The great players really stand out and can dominate games.
It would be fun to draft an "Exceptional Player" ala McDavid, Eklbad or Tavares and building a team around a superstar. Or possibly having to sell them off in their draft year.Comment

Re: Chl in be a gm?
when game hacking became a thing on the PS3 games and I considered a hack to make the CHL work. I'd make the salary cap ridiculous high, so any player over a certain overall would ask for $100 million a year or something obnoxious, but I'd keep the max salary down. So all the "star players" would be corralled in free agency and refuse to sign.
The idea being that you'd get a player for three years until their ELC ran out, and if they were bad enough that you could tender them you could get 4-5 years out of them. Just like the real CHL
.....couldn't come up with a separate hack to give London and Halifax more money than everyone else to illegally pay Europeans and NCAA defects to come play for them though so it wouldn't be so realisticComment
