Why does Phil Simms insult Nantz so much. In one game I heard three different exchanges where Phil kinda came off like a jerk

Maybe because that is how he is in real life. I think he is just trying to be funny. I don't think either one of them take his comments seriously.

Simms is exactly the same in this game as he is on CBS. For better or worse.

I don't like Simms or Nantz very much in real life so I could take or leave their in-game commentary. Nantz's voice suits golf better than football.

Madden-wise, it's at least good they're making a few minor changes each year to make things sound more dynamic but it's not at the level of EA's other sports games, let alone others by other developers. FIFA and NHL are among the best, even if Doc/Eddie/Ray aren't there just yet.

I hope this "shared Ignite tech" actually means something and we get some of the awesome dynamic content that FIFA currently has (real-time substitutions, real players on the sidelines, dynamic commentary that covers updates from other games as they happen, player/team storylines etc).

I listened to the commentary for one half, heard two of Phil's 95 minute monologues about god knows what, muted it and loaded a playlist from Google Play Music. Never been happier playing Madden. The commentary holds back what is otherwise amazing presentation. The stat overlay, the camera angles, the information during the game is all excellent.

there are still tons of commentary errors and lines that don't exactly fit what just happened on the field. Things like quarterbacks scrambling outside the pocket and taking it for a first down being called "the running back" or running backs being blamed for making the wrong read when they get stuffed, when it was because of missed blocks by the o line instead

commentary is still the worst of the major sports games

I think Madden could stand to add at least one more commentary team. At this point the only reason not to is because they don't want to spend the money on the talent and the time to add it to the game. I get it that Madden doesn't have to be a "world beater" every year because it has no competition; it is unfortunate for the consumers that EA doesn't want to put more effort into it, but I do understand they are a business and these kinds of improvements don't measurably improve their "bottom line."

i think if the focused on identifing players more as "he him his" rather than players specific names it would sound alil more enjoyable and more space for commentary.. imo
