How's your Connected Franchise going in M16

Hey everyone, I thought I'd start a Hows your CFM going M16 thread for PS3 and Xbox 360 users. I bought the game the day it came out and am fairly happy with it so far. It is very similar to 15 in looks but I expected as much.

I'm currently using the Eagles as my Franchise in Off-line mode playing All-Madden with 4 minute quarters and mainly just supersimming when on defense(I like to just play offense unless its 4th quarter). It's been interesting seeing how the QB situation has worked out. Bradford has already broken his ribs in game 3 but only sat out 1 game. In the game he sat out I put Tebow in, he went on to run for over 80 yards and 2 tds using Carolinas Playbook, but his passing was dreadful and I barely managed 50% completion.

So far its more realistic than any other games in terms of everyones overall and feel of how they play. I'd say thats the biggest improvement is the ratings system this year is very accurate. Let me know how you guys are doing and how you're liking the game. Cheers, Herb

Re: How's your Connected Franchise going in M16

My CFM strategy is to play with teams that are going to have serious QB questions in the next couple of years. I'm currently playing with the Saints, tring to find a replacement for Brees, and also changing the the way the team plays with Graham gone and Colston getting old.

Why doesn't Madden have formation subs like NCAA? I want some formations to have Ingram, and others to CJ Spiller.
My teams: Cowboys, Knicks, Braves, Arsenal FC, Nittany Lions

It does have formation subs. You just click 'RB' on 360 or R1 on PS3 and move the left stick til you select which position you want to sub out. There are also 'Sub-Packages' and you use the Right Stick to switch the formations around. You can do things like select the Sub Package 'Patriot' in any teams Goalline formation, if you switch the the Patriot Sub-Package your Middle Linebacker will become your Fullback and your 3rd Tight-End becomes your outside Linebacker, its pretty cool. There are a variety of these sub-packages and you can play around with them and see which ones you like.

          question:

in M16, do players still have schemes and styles?

also, what are the draft classes like? completely random?

Re: How's your Connected Franchise going in M16

Just got the game starting a fantasy draft franchise with the Bills. Normally I create a coach but am going with Rex for the first one.

Doing a defensive team as my last team in last years game with Newton, Lynch, Gronk and Julio scored at will on All Madden.

My fantasy drafts usually take an eternity (I have one in last years game I started months ago but didn't have time to finish and then saw they released the new game for 360) but am trying to do this one quick in one go without looking ahead to see who will be available or gone.

In the the 3rd round right now as I just started

1 (Pick 12 or something) JJ Watt
            2 Ndamukong Suh
3 I am likely taking Navarro Bowman here as I don't see anyone really comparable to him to be developed available later.Another option is Mariota but I think I will get either Kaepernick or Tyrod Taylor later

Don't know how long they will be available but Aldon Smith and Jadeveon Clowney are still on the board, if I can get atleast one to pair with someone like Vic Beasley this defensive front will be crazy

Offensively like I said I will likely go with someone like Tyrod Taylor at QB, someone like Jeremy Hill and Todd Gurley at RB depending when they are available, WR is pretty deep and guys like Watkins as well as a lot of talented rookies should be available later.

For my OL I'm going to get the biggest, strongest run blockers I can find and build a line that might not be able to pass block against anyone week 1, but can wash opposing D lines down the line of scrimmage for my run game that I can use to control the game, rest my D, and not throw picks.

I typically like to draft only the youngest players and avoid anyone near 28 for the fantasy draft but with this team in the early rounds I am taking elite players who aren't going to develop too much more but already have traits or skills that put them on another level you can't develop other players to.

Planning to start a franchise tonight. This time around I won't be using the team of my heart (Patriots) since it wouldn't be fun to start with a stacked team. I'm thinking either these teams with young QBs or teams with a solid core. Maybe Bills, Jets, Vikings, don't know. What teams you guys recommend to rebuild in Madden 16?

Got Madden 16 set up to run in all three modes - Career, Coach & Owner

Career mode has already started. Coach mode will be started today. Owner mode will be delayed so it runs opposite of my M25 CFM (Which is currently in mid-season - Albeit in 2018)

Coach & Owner modes are set to the Broncos (Because they're my favorite team )

As for my players, I've got a Seahawks HB (Who's a 300+ Lbs FREIGHT TRAIN) i@ Week 5 of 2015 Regular Season, a Dolphins WR (whom I've named DEION SANDERS ii) who's also somewhere around Week 5 of 2015 Regular Season

I've also got a Packers QB (Who's MY II & is basically a Right-Handed Tim Tebow) who's stuck in the 2015 Preseason (Due to the game freezes / system lockups I've mentioned elsewhere). Plan on moving him on to the Regular Season later this week

                That's the report from here

Re: How's your Connected Franchise going in M16

This forum seems kinda dead but I finally finished my fantasy draft using the roster update from around week 5. Using the Bills because I thought they wouldn't be terrible this year

                  QB Kaepernick, Tebow
                  RB L Bell, T Gurley, T Coleman
                  FB Dimarco
TE Michael Williams, Steve Maneri, E Ebron
                  WR J Jones, B Perriman, T Austin, D Green-Beckham, P Dorsett
                  LT Lane Johnson
                  LG M Iupati
                  C C Linsley
                  RG B Brooks
                  RT Erick Flowers

Obviously it's a run first offense powered by Bell, Gurley, Kaep and a big OL, especially the interior, but there are weapons like the unstoppable Julio. Kaepernicks accuracy is terrible and keeps dropping because I keep getting multiple interceptions because I target wide open receivers and his horrible throws find corners that somehow catch up to and out jump Julio. The automatic regression is killing my QB. Ebron can't block a soul so I have 300 lb TE M Williams as my starter.

                  DT G Atkins, T Cody, J Williams, D McCullers
DE JJ Watt, A Clayborn, M Edwards JR
                  OLB R Gregory, V Beasley, F Clark, D Hunter, Z Smith, R Mathis, D Freeney
                  MLB N Bowman, D Washington, S Anthony, Z Gooden
CB T Waynes, K Fuller, B Jones, S Golson, PJ Williams
                  S K Chancellor, D Buchanon, B Rambo, J Cyprien

My defense is very multiple and typically plays the 3-4 or 46 against the run, and one of many different nickel packages vs the pass.

Watt and Atkins are my everydown DL, on run downs in the 3-4 either T Cody, J Williams or A Clayborn is the other DL. If I'm loading up against the run both Clayborn and Edwards JR can give me 280 lb 3-4 OLBs to set the edge.

VS the pass I can bring in the likes of Gregory and Beasley to be my edge rushers. Bowman, Washington, Chancellor and Buchanon give me big hitters on the 2nd and 3rd level.

My corners and FS are leading the league in interceptions that QBs chuck up vs Cover 3, but I have to be near the bottom of the league in sacks.

Even when I user control JJ Watt or Geno Atkins and I get the green "win" animation it is near impossible to get to the QB.

I'm undefeated near halfway through the season but there have been a few tight games. One thing I'm noticing in this years version of franchise mode is you get like no XP. Even breaking the record for single game passing TDs with Kaep and winning player of the week I don't think I got enough XP to raise his terrible deep accuracy a single point.

Re: How's your Connected Franchise going in M16

won the SB in year 4 after going 13-3. had to go to dallas for the NFC CG. had rebuilt the OL through the draft and picked up a superb WR who has been a huge playmaker & deep threat.

the really fun bit? kaepernick got hurt in preseason so i started my second year QB (moved up in the second round to get him before the cards took him). he was awesome. 4000 yard passing, 40 TD & 8 INT. kaepernick never got the job back. the raiders wanted him for a 2nd & 3rd round pick. i took the 2nd round pick out and exchanged in aldon smith. BOOM! pass rush went on fire from week 8 onward with aldon getting 12 sacks in 7 games.

and who did we meet in the SB - the raiders led by kaepernick. they were 4-4 when became their QB and ended up 10-6. we boat raced them in the SB 56-7. they really weren't a good team. easiest game of the year.

the raiders then cut kaepernick whose OVR had fallen from 80 to 71 despite leading them to the SB at age 30. he's the backup in cinci - behind blaine gabbert.

                    can't make the stuff up!!!!

Re: How's your Connected Franchise going in M16

have decided to take semi-control of the packers, seahawks & cowboys to ensure there are four really good teams in the NFC. the packers & seahawks have obviously good QB and the cowboys draft d good one who has since won two MVP. might take over the bill as well as they have a damn good young QB as well.

will become their HC after the season and help them sign FA & then draft for them. make the odd trade and then, i'll "retire" as their HC only to repeat twelve months later.

does anyone with experience of multiple franchise CFM have any insight as to whether this would work? or any pit falls that could occur?

My 2nd fantasy draft team, wanted to be defense heavy but ended with a bit of talent on offense too. Took high potentional players over more skilled ones but haven't got much xp to upgrade them so far (undefeated entering week 16)

Using the chargers because of those sweet powder blue throwback uniforms. Playing as a rookie coach don't know if that's why my players are getting barely any xp
