    Trash Talking

Is it ok to trash talk when you don't have a favorite team. My favorite is The Cowboys i don't mine talking about them when they win or lose. I have a co-worker who always trash talk to me when The Cowboys lose. My gripe is...he don't have a favorite team for me to trash talk about. He says he only like The NFL but not a particular team. Question is...should he be trash talking. And should i just be rude and not talk football with him at all.

    Thanks.

If you're a Cowboys fan, people talking trash about them comes with the territory, even if their team isn't good.

lol. Believe me i understand that. I don't mine the trash talking only if that person has a team for me to return the favor. They have no team.

They've gotta have a favorite team in something. Make fun of the school they went to.

Yes, trash talk is okay. Having a favorite team has nothing to do with it. Knowing that it upsets YOU....priceless. You can be rude if you like. You can also not talk football. Personally, when I hear something dumb or just lame trash talking I just say a few phrases.

              I hear ya.

              I know.

After hearing that a few times the guy will probably leave you alone.

Its not upsetting...ok maybe a little upsetting. I work with Giants, Jets and Steeler fans. We all have fun with a little smack talk. How can a person join or even want to join in the smack talk without a team. I'm more baffled about it.

Thanks for your advice. I appreciate it.

That sort of thing annoys me as well.

Why not respond with anything he has to say about the NFL (good or bad) with this? No leg to stand on, not a real fan, what bandwagon are you riding this year/month/week.

Don't ever have a normal conversation to give him a chance to talk trash when the opportunity occurs. His lack of team gives you an opportunity to trash talk him every time you see him.

                      Anytime sir.

FYI, you can also use those same techniques on just about any topic or any comment made to you that is either not appropriate, insulting, or just plain rude. Also works on children, wives, you name it. It can diffuse any argument. We all have our weak points and moments.

I can't front, I hate when people who don't have a favorite team talk trash too. Not to me but in general.

I see it more with NBA Fans and that ish is so annoying SMH.

You should tell him to do what every other fan that has no real grasp of the game and has no favorite team does and become a Cowboy fan.

                            Trash Talking

I'd just shut him down with something like only people with a team can join in this discussion, peace out.

It's like his neutrality gives him a pass, but it's the opposite. His talk is cheap because he don't have the balls to back it up by having a team to heckle on yourself.

You're either all in or you're all out.

Believe me, I haven't been able to talk real trash to people because I'm a Bills fan doormat. So I've taken my licks, but end of the day those people respect me because I've stuck with the Bills through the lean years/decades. Hopefully I can big dog all these people this season...
