    Dark Arenas - Once Again

Overall loved the new NBA 2K16 gameplay videos, though I was very disappointed to see the same dark arenas once again, just not enticing. 2K really needs to work on their arena lighting, IMO.

It is good on the actual court but in the nosebleeds and like upper arena very very dark. Before 2k14 on PS4 there was lighting everywhere

      Exactly, it's basically black, non-existent.

2k15 was good and there wasn't many complaints so I didn't expect them to fix much plus that gameplay is not final and if u want I can send u a link for a bunch of 2k16 info

meh...I rather them concentrate on making the courts and arena look realistic like that other game.

Agreed but seems like they never have trouble with that stuff

The arena upper decks have bad lighting in most of Live's arenas as well. It's weird though because last gen neither really had this issue.

I wonder what happened to the lighting system they had in 14? I remember them saying they went arena to arena to get exact lighting or sum.

well lighting is always a resource hog. (unless it's baked maybe?) so I will take dark nosebleeds (which are a little dark anyways) if it helps the system resources for something else, like physics.

they have a limited amount of processing power (with the machines) and time to make the game. so it could probably the best lighted game in the world, with realistic real-time shadows off every surface. However, you would not have it run at 60 fps 1080p with physics and decent footplanting. it would probably be a stuttering mess. it may not always be as easy as just fix the lighting. it's probably a hard balancing act to keep everyone satisfied. I am not saying you are wrong for wanting better lighting, I am just saying it might not be as easy as it seems, and some things might have to suffer.

It's still there, when you play in different arenas, the lighting on court is exclusive to those arenas, it's the crowd that doesn't have a lot of light outside of a few rows on the sides of the court. The entire lower bowl should be lit in some arenas (some should be less visible then they are like BKN, LAL, NYK).

They toned it down because it sucked...if I want to play on ice I will go play a hockey game.

I'm sure this is the case, unfortunately.
