Strange Glitch

So I'm in season 12 of dynasty (NCAA 14) and my Gators really killed it. We go to the SEC championship game at 11-1 and play an over-achieving Arkansas (8-4) team.

Here's where things get weird. The first time I start the game, I lose the toss and have to receive. The ARK players just huddle around the ball and nothing happens. I can't call a TO or do anything to get them to kick off the ball.

So, I have to quit and restart. This time, I win the toss and elect to kick. Right before I kick off, the game freezes. I have to shut down the PS3 and start over. OK then.

My third attempt ends the same way as my first; the ARK players all huddle around the ball and the game is basically frozen. I even tried running one of my guys up there to force an offsides penalty, but nothing worked.

At this point, I just quit and SIM the game which (thankfully) I won. From here, everything is normal again. I've been playing this game for 3 years now and never had this happen before.

Anyone else have this issue?

No, haven't encountered that. Closest I've seen to that is where the placeholder freezes on a PAT and the only thing you can do is reset the game. At least you were able to sim past the glitch.

I've seen this happen before in online dynasties, but not in offline (which I'm assuming this is).

Did the computer happen to be using a custom playbook?

This happens when the CPU uses a custom playbook. The game will only load a custom playbook if the controller is on the team with the custom playbook. The solution is to change their playbook or start with your controller on the opposing team and change teams after the game loads.

This is definitely the problem...

This happens when the CPU uses a custom playbook. The game will only load a custom playbook if the controller is on the team with the custom playbook. The solution is to change their playbook or start with your controller on the opposing team and change teams after the game loads.

While I didn't do it on purpose, this is probably the case.

I often change the other team's uniforms because I don't use my team's standard home/away. Perhaps I changed their playbook by accident. I don't think I did, but stranger things have happened.

I just figured someone up there didn't want me playing that particular game.
