This Is Our Time ~ Swansea City (FIFA 16 Dynasty)

This Is Our Time ~ A Swansea City Legacy

Hah.... I bet a lot of you did not see this coming.

Some of you may know my work in previous dynasties, most notably my Detroit Lions CFM in Madden 15 as well as my Miami Heat Dynasty on NBA2k15. Both were fun and a great experience, and while I do plan on making future dynasties in those sports with different teams... I've been loving FIFA's franchise mode this year and I really would just love to put all my time into a soccer-focused dynasty. The season is long enough where I don't have to put insane effort into each and every post while also being short enough where it doesn't drag on. I'll have a full rules and disclaimers sheet posted in a little bit from now but for now lemme get a couple things out of the way.

Too my fans of my NBA2k15 series, do not worry! I do plan on doing a NBA2k16 dynasty but it's not going to be in the very beginning of NBA2k16. The game looks like a ton of fun with all the new in-depth s tuff they've added and I just wanna experience the career mode aspect of that all without pressure to consistently post for an update. It will be coming in the future, I just wanna focus on this project for now.

Now... some disclaimers for this series! In all likelihood, this post will slow down once NBA2k16 comes back since the new thing is the hottest thing but I will get back to this. It'll be a perfect rotation of Madden 16, Rocket League, FIFA 16, and NBA2k16 for me to work with which will prevent me from getting burnt out on these projects. In terms of soccer, while I am a Real Madrid fan and prefer La Liga to the BPL, a BPL dynasty will always be better for forums since there's stronger parity and I'm not forced to limit myself.

For example, I can purchase any player and it seem reasonable with Swansea City. Whatever focus I desire, it can be seen as kinda realistic. On the other-hand, if I went with Real Madrid... they're not gonna take any risks with English players or players from the States. A squad like Swansea City isn't at such a tier where they're not willing to take those risks. This allows a perfect balance of being able to be a mid-tier side and trying to build my way up moving forward. Oh, and chances are if you're reading this dynasty you're probably a fan of a team from the BPL, which makes this more engaging to you!

But besides that... let's dive.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
BREAKING NEWS: Garry Monk is OUT as Swansea City manager. A stunning announcement considering Swansea City's strong performance in the 2014-2015 campaign in which they finished 8th in the Barclays Premier League, just barely missing out on the Europa League with 56 points. Regardless, the move was made in favor of a bit of a wildcard... it was announced that they'd be electing a new man, a wildcard, perhaps an unknown... Felix Ooovaro. The Cuban manager prides himself on being an innovator, seeing things before anyone else can, drawing patterns, and over-all being ahead of the saber-metrics crew in the football department.

The hiring has received mixed reaction from fans across the BPL. Some Swansea City fans are pissed, they were building up a strong young squad and throwing out their manager can disrupt that chemistry. Others believe that if Swansea City ever truly wants to compete at the top of the Barclays Premier League they're going to need a man who takes risks, who doesn't care what anyone thinks but himself, and that's why Ooovaro has been beloved in the few places he's traveled. He saw some minor tenures with lower leagues in the United States, eventually getting some time bouncing around with La Liga clubs as an assistant.

Now he's here to make a statement. The 29-year old manager has been questioned if his younger self has any idea what mistakes he could make with such a lack of experience. Isn't it difficult to manage players who happen to be older than you? Ooovaro disagrees, a player worthy of keeping on the squad doesn't care about age, he merely focuses on results, and that's all Ooovaro wants with his tenure here in Swansea City.

So whether you like it or not Wales, be prepared to deal with this menace.

Rules and Regulations for this Dynasty

Alrighty so here we are! These are the rules for this Swansea City Dynasty.

Settings:
Match Difficulty: World Class
Half Length: 6 minutes
Financial Strictness: Moderate (75%)
Currency: Dollars
European Competition in 1st Season?: Yes
Disable First Summer Transfer Window?: No

Pretty much all the standard stuff. I feel like World Class is really damn tough this year with how they changed the game and it's difficult enough that I'm actually gonna adjust the sliders so it's slightly more reasonable. Other than that, 6 minutes is a solid enough time. A moderate strictness is fair since Swansea City is in a mode of going towards becoming a big-time club. Of course dollars for currency, I did add European Competition since it doesn't affect me and I adjusted all the groups so it's the most realistic I could possibly make it. I also did decide to leave the transfer window open just so I can mess around with a few things.

Now, as for sliders, everything is going to be at the default 50 except for the sliders change listed below. I made these moves since I feel like the ball control for the User in comparison to the CPU is kinda BS. The game is very enjoyable but it's kind of unrealistic how Andres Iniesta has a struggle sending a solid pass and Cristiano Ronaldo struggles out-pacing Per Mertestacker with the ball. Thus, these settings changes are geared towards making it more fair. If I ever feel like I'm winning too much and it's unfair, I will make the changes to make it more even.

Spoiler

So yea... nothing insane there. Feel free to have disagreements in the comments though!

Other than that though I don't have many house rules. The usual basic set-up for me is that I'm going to play 2 games for every game I sim. This can change and vary about in regards to cups and all, but for the basic league considering there's 38 games, that gives enough of a balance where I can control my results and we won't go be relegated/winning the title in the very first season. As for transfers, nothing too strict there... of course I want be using any websites to cheat on potentials for players since that takes a ton out of it for me. I will be doing this purely blind and just entrusting in my global scouts as well as my youth academy.

So that's all really.... now on-to the dynasty!

Ooovaro agrees to tournament, vows for changes

It didn't take very long for Felix Ooovaro to guarantee changes at Swansea City, and you already seeing it with just his first few days in office. Already he agreed to attend the European International Cup based in Spain in which he will be competing with clubs all around the world for a prize that in total could equate to over 10 million dollars for the victor. Not too shabby of a prize for a team in desperate need of change.

The clubs that Felix Ooovaro will be competing against include Lokomotiv Moscow, Inter, Fenerbache, Besiktas, Athletic Bilbao, Real Sociedad, and Valencia. Swansea City was placed in Group A in which they'll be competing with Lokomotiv, Inter, and Fenerbahce to see who can make it out of the group to the tournament.

In other news for Ooovaro, he's also announced that everyone and everything at Swansea City is in fluctuation. When speaking with the press, he was fairly honest with the media.

Ooovaro: Everything can change. I'm open to giving players who've never played a professional game in their life a chance to start while also being willing to sell or keep everyone. I didn't come into here with any agendas, if you wow me you're going to be playing every Saturday and if you're helping us win games we're going to keep you around. My goal here is to win at all costs, and that's what I want out of every player here.

So there you have it. Ooovaro is likely going to be announcing many possible changes in the coming days in regards to formations and players constantly being rotated, and you're likely to see Swansea City's name in many rumors considering they have a budget of around 27 million according to many sources. It's a fair amount for Ooovaro to play with and also enough to where if he sells off a few players, could make an enormous purchase as a block-busting move in his opening tenure.

Game Recap: What a way to open up your career! Swansea City come out of the gate against Inter Milan and just totally stun them. It was a defensive-focused Swansea City who set out to have a strong defense and holding possession was another key to victory. 51% may not have been the ideal goal, but against a team with Inter's caliber it truly is a tremendous victory even if it is a mere friendly to kick off Felix Ooovaro's tenure with Swansea City.

The goal was set up by Bafetemi Gomez who whipped a ball Gylfi Sigurdsson who was right above the box on the edge. He saw Jonjo Shelvey making a bit of a run and hit a through ball that could and likely should have been stopped by their new signing in Geoffrey Kongdobia, but the sliding effort was not enough as the ball simply tapped off the edge of his foot leading to a 1 on 1 scenario between Shelvey and Handanovic. Shelvey was able to compose himself a finesse a shot into the bottom right corner as Handanovic could only helplessly watch the ball roll into the back of the net. As it turned out, it was the only goal of the match.

The entire Swansea City squad went mental and it was also meant with many hugs to Ooovaro for getting a win in his debut. In terms of any pressure by Inter, they put on a bit more pressure past the 80th minute but were never able to get a clear ball on net with multiple offside calls and just unluckiness with the inability to breakdown Swansea City's defense. The only other thing to stand-out would be Ooovaro's decision not to make any substitutions in the match which eh defended by saying that he felt the starting 11 was playing well and didn't want to disrupt any of their chemistry.

With an opening win, it should go a long way towards Swansea City potentially being able to get out of Group A this go-around and advance to the tournament style ahead. First though, there's still two more group matches remaining and they must take care of business also regarding transfers in case any potential deals are struck.

Also random help note: Can someone explain what the initials are in the Operation Sports box scores? They just seem a tad confusing with CK, CR, OFF, FC, and FS. Any help would be appreciated.
