What's the Verdict, Restart or No?

Well i've kept up with the Patch #2 thread pretty well, and it seems there is no real answer here, some encouraging info, but the question is popping up all over the place now.

I know once A&S starts debating the topic, it has to be worth consideration/discussion.

So, that being said, what's the plan, what are you going to do? Restart your current CFM, or Play Through your existing?

Don't ask me, i don't know what to do either, I'm torn, but if it has to be done, it has to be done today, so i can go hard at it over the weekend.

Re: What's the Verdict, Restart or No?

I have a single team offline CFM where I am doing the drive goals bypass. Currently in my second season and really enjoying it.

The thought of a 32 team offline CFM does interest me. So I am thinking of keeping my current single team, but starting a 32 team.

I really think everyone complaining about every little detail of this game is crazy, I think this madden deserves some more praise because I personally think it's awesome.

Armor and Shields sliders with a few tweaks to my gameplay has me happy.

I am running 2 seperate ones and keeping pace with the current nfl season. So 3 deep in my Broncos and 2 deep in my Giants.

I may restart the Giants or switch from the Giants to another team but I am not restarting with the Broncos.

Restart. Somethings you can't get without it. Like the drive goal fix and wr, te, k, ol game prep

No need for the bypass anymore. It was fixed. Doesn't give out conf really at all. Only xp and that's helpfully cause you barely get any xp without them

Really? Lol so no need to do the bypass? Does this mean I need to restart?

Do we need to restart an online cfm to get the drive goals confidence fix, or is it handled server-side?

That I do not know. But I can tell you that you will see a different a first game played unless your players are at 99 already lol. If not you will see them not getting conf for completing goals. So play one game and see. If you are getting a lot then you need to restart. The most I have seen in 10 games played is conf going up only 1 from drive goals.

I'm not starting over. No time interest in losing two full seasons. But a restart gets rid of the drive goal and you can get game prep with other positions? I would like those two, but not enough to start fresh.

Exactly I'm in the same boat. Been working fine with Bookers workaround

What triggers what positions can game prep anyone. Season 3 and I have a new one out of no where. It allows me to run drills with kickers. Couldn't do that first two seasons.

Holy Crap..... Fixed this, didn't fix that. 39 pages of opinions, positives, negatives. From completely reinstalling the game to fixing current Franchises. Tuning data, no tuning data. Drive goals fixed, Not fixed. regression, no regression.. I think i am more confused than before I started reading. I don't know rather to restart, or not ? There are different opinions from those amazing and respected grues that have been testing Madden for years and newbies that have just started. All are greatly appreciated and valued for trying to make the game better for all of us. So I am going to ask a few basic questions and try to get what the majority feel is the best way to go about this.. I am asking for CFM, OFFLINE only..

A: Should the game be deleted and reinstalled..
B: No reinstall, Should all files be deleted and rebuilt.
C: With new patch, Do you need to start with a NEW CFM or can you use existing.
D: With new patch, Do you need to use EA official rosters, or can you use custom DL rosters.
E: With patch, Is play better with or without Tuning data file.. ?
F: With patch. Since some say the drive goals are apparently fixed. Do we still need to use 32 team control , The single team control to shut off drive goals.. Or just humanize our own team and let CPU run as normal.
G: Do you still need to Edit QB's to Ideal to fix some of the LT issues.
H: Do you use 1 week, 4 week, or Season to progress players.
I: Do you need to progress players yourself or let CPU do it.
                            J: Preseason, No Preseason.
K: And for slider grues, will you change your sliders now the patch is released.

Not everyone will agree on the answers, But i think the majority will help many undecided players, rookies or vet to set up a franchise and just go with it. We can test and test, But eventually we want to play. At some point. We have to accept the flaws of the game, Live with them, make our franchise the best we can.. And just play.. I think the answers to these question will help those that are still confused..

Re: What's the Verdict, Restart or No?

I started a new cfm and I was able to do catch drills with receivers and tight ends, but that was the only new drills for me. Simmed through my current season in cfm and have acceleration burst added. So i don't know what the deal is with game prep drills.I don't know what triggers new ones being added or not. Year 3 I had a new one added was for kickers. First time in three seasons I had the option for that drill.

Not only that, but I still just have some guys at a +1 or +2 with two players at a +3.

Also, QB awareness and LT pass blocking seems fine. I have ststtibf QB's who are in the 90's with awareness and some who are low 60's or 50's. Same with left tackles, lowest pass block for a starter is 77. Most guys are somewhere in the 80's with a handful in the 99-97 rating.

While I would like the drills for my receivers and tight ends, I'm just not seeing the advantage of restarting. If you're enjoying your CFM and deep into it, it see a pointless to restart to me.
