    • There’s way too many coaches retiring
    • Not enough coaches stay with their teams
    • Players aren’t taking advantage of the increase in cap space.
    • Wizards are still performing poorly. (record: 30-52)
    • Andre Drummond can be acquired too easily. (You don’t have to give up much to get him)

Re: NBA 2K16 MyGM: Simulated Season and Off-Season Results

It seems the CPU really undervalues bigs, mainly Drummond, but also other guys, like Favours. When I first started MyGM the Clippers ("contending") traded away Jordan and than shopped Griffin.

Re: NBA 2K16 MyGM: Simulated Season and Off-Season Results

I agree Mac. Derrick Favors is another big that I’m constantly seeing put up for trades. I decided to sim a season with the Clippers. Players are signing for way less than they should. Here’s a couple of examples:

      • Bradley Beal (3yr/$24.34M)
      • Andre Drummond (3yr/$28.04M)
      • Al Horford (3yr/$27.65M)

Trades, like you said, undervalues bigs. Hopefully, they can improve trade logic. Here’s some trades from the Clippers season:

      • Nuggets trade: Kenneth Faried, ’16 2nd Round
      • Celtics trade: Amir Johnson

      • Magic trade: Tobias Harris, ’16 1st Round
      • Wizards trade: Nene

      • Kings trade: Rudy Gay, ’17 2nd Round
      • 76ers trade: Gerald Wallace

      • Nets trade: Brook Lopez, Andre Bargnani
      • Trail Blazers trade: Gerald Henderson, Mike Miller

      • Magic trade: Channing Frye, ’17 2nd Round
      • Hawks trade: Tiago Splitter

      • Timberwolves trade: Ricky Rubio, ’18 1st Round
      • Jazz Trade: Derrick Favors

      • Spurs trade: Tony Parker
      • Grizzlies trade: Mike Conley, ’18 2nd Round

      Staff Retirements:

      - I’m not sure why Rick Carlisle is set on retiring in this game.

      • Flip Saunders (retired in Mavs and Clippers season)
      • Dwane Casey (retired in Mavs and Clippers season)
      • Stan Van Gundy
      • Lionel Hollins
      • Rick Carlisle (retired in Mavs and Clippers season)

      Free Agency – Day 1 of 13 (Top FA’s)

      • LeBron James (wants a 3yr/$93M)
      • Mike Conley (wants a 4yr/$58.17M)
      • Kobe Bryant (wants a 1yr/12.35M)
      • Al Jefferson (wants a 2yr/27.07M)
      • Hassan Whiteside (wants a 3yr/31.91M)
      • Joe Johnson (wants a 1yr/7.91M)

Re: NBA 2K16 MyGM: Simulated Season and Off-Season Results

I was just about to make a thread like this but completely agree with the fact bigs are way to easy to acquire. Rudy Gobert, Brook Lopez, Derrick Favors, Andre Drummond, DeAndre Jordan are always traded in MyGM for scraps. Rudy Gay is always traded for Gerald Wallace and 18' 1st and teams don't use their untouchables only players I really see on their are Lebron, Steph, Anthony Davis, Kevin Durant and occasionally Harden

Re: NBA 2K16 MyGM: Simulated Season and Off-Season Results

Simmed a season into the future in a 30-team control MyLeague (with CPU automation for all but one team) and the Lakers signed LeBron AND Tim Duncan in FA, knocked out the defending champ Warriors in the 2017 playoffs, then lost to the Kings (the Kings I say!) in the WCF -- the Kings then met the Raptors in the Finals, where they won in six games.

          ...

The AI logic is really fouled up this year, tis the truth.

LOL. I'd love it if the Clippers traded Deandre Jordan after everything that went down in the off-season.

What trades are so outlandish? I don't see any that seem completely unfair besides:

Magic trade: Tobias Harris, ’16 1st Round
              Wizards trade: Nene

I do MyLeague and all the trades have to go through me first.

Re: NBA 2K16 MyGM: Simulated Season and Off-Season Results

They did say that the A.I logic also works for looking into long term, so it's possible teams unloading some of their better player (Favors for example) are actually trying to get picks? To rebuild? As in, they've decided Favors isn't going to work out or whatever.

They also said teams that had a chance of landing big time free agents would try and free up some cap space before the offseason. So a move like Gay for Wallace makes some sort of sense, Sacramento would have an expiring Wallace who's contract is something like 11mil per, so they could chase another all star caliber player in the offseason to partner with Cousins. Meanwhile Philly get a guy who can actually score and help with the rebuild?

A lot of the logic does seem horrendous. But some of it might genuinely be a case of the A.I out smarting us. Lmao.

I mean I'm pretty sure Nene makes more money than Tobias? So are the Wizards trying to save cap space to make a run at KD? Squeezing Beal to sign for as little as possible and moving Nene for a cheaper option? Maybe they were just unsuccessful at going after KD? Or LeBron or whoever.

I could make the case that every horrible trade I saw offered to me or offered at all was a case of the AI looking ahead long-term; my issue is that it seems to be taken to an extreme (trading away Drummond for junk to free up space to sign another Ben Gordon?).

The AI doesn't do a good job of evaluating the organization and the location of said organization. If the Drummond trade had come from, say, the Lakers, I wouldn't be too disturbed by it -- the Lakers do all kinds of crazy trades to get talent. Would it have been a good trade? Hell no, but I would have shrugged and said "They'll bounce back" and been decently confident they could, either in FA or through more trades.

But teams like Utah and Detroit are not prime FA destinations and, furthermore, can really only build through the draft and retention of their players; they can trade for vets and expiring contracts, but they're not nabbing a prime star via a trade ever unless there are serious red flags somewhere. The AI has no conception of this and treats every organization like they're the big dog, wheelin' and dealin' Lakers or Celtics (or Suns to some extent) and that's not the truth for a good portion of the NBA.

This is why 30-team user controlled, user approved trades is really the only way to go -- otherwise the league turns into a fantasy draft through trades, lol.

There are some things you just can't change in a sports game and bad AI GMs is one of them.

Thought about that, but I couldn't rebrand any other teams except the ones I controlled in MyLeague. I'd rather control all teams, set it to automation, and step in when the CPU is about to do something horrible, and be able to relocate all teams.

I just don't have confidence that the CPU can pull off any big trades -- they frequently screw up the small ones.

Lol. Trade destinations are overrated. If a guy gets the chance to play next to one of the best centers in the league (possibly the best) as well as a veteran coach, for the right money? You never know.

I think most superstar free agents would want to play in Sacramento over New York or Lakers. Not because of destination/the city. But because of the roster.

At the end of the day superstars want to win, they'll get paid anywhere and everywhere. People judge their legacy on winning not $

It's different for role players, most of whom just want to cash out.

I agree with you to a point, but "winning" isn't as important as money, yet. Look at the Jazz -- over the last decade they employed Deron Williams (traded to Brooklyn), Carlos Boozer (left for Chicago), Al Jefferson (left for Charlotte), and Paul Millsap (went to ATL). Out of those four, two were developed by Utah (Williams, Millsap), while the others were acquired via FA or trade.

Not a one of them stayed, yet the Jazz are consistently one of the better organizations in basketball (little drama, stable ownership, diehard fans), are never in talks to relocate, draft decently well, and have never won a title -- the legacy of that team is Stockton, Malone, and Sloane and that legacy has long since passed. If you're a star and want to enhance your legacy, why wouldn't you go to Utah to make your mark? Win a title like Malone and Stockton never could, become a cult figure, cement yourself as beloved?

But no stars sign in Utah -- beyond the basketball and the community, they have little to offer. No coast. No beach. No exotic locales. NBA players want to live glamorous off the court just as much as they want to be glamorous on it, IMO, and location plays a role in this.
