MyPlayer Experience!

Since the Xbox service is down and limited I figured I start over in MyPlayer and see what is good or bad. Now that Face Scan is broken and we look ********, I decided to create the Legend Ronnie Fields. Instead of making him 6'2, I made him 6'6 with Jordan's wing span. Better for the long run since you can't have SUPER STATS like Jordan in your career and limited to whatever upgrades you can.

Notes

• Overall NBA2K16 for a NexGen system has long loading times. Unacceptable!
• Start off too low. For someone who leaves college early, you're really not dominant. What is the point of leaving college early? Why can't we stay 4 years and finish?
• Superstar coming out of High School should have good dribbling skills. Mandatory!
• Why can't I pick Illinois State University? Why am I stuck with only a certain colleges?
• When time is a factor, why can't all presentations be disabled for quick gameplays?
• CPU not quick or smart enough to pass the ball. Missed opportunities.
• Can't shake players off especially in college
• Worse NBA 2K to date everyone is blinded by the organic feel.

Story

• Voice Audio too low
• Story is short and not very well put
• Why do I have to be from Harlem?
• Racial parents not an option
• Should have been more like choose your adventure type story

High School Games

• Clock too short
• CPU holds on to the ball too long
• Can't produce much points unless you ball hog

College Games

• Time still a factor, not enough. Clock too short.
• Ball hogging is a must.
• You're still worse than an NBA bench player
• You never get drafted 1st pick.
• In college video games, top players are above 70, no 55.

NBA

• Drafted low
• low pay
• twice as long as 2k15 to advance
• requires real money to advance and get stuff
• You are not an all star but a bench player at 55 rating

The game is by far the worse of the NBA 2K series. I'm more frustrated than having fun. To me, that tells me the game is not good. In the end, it's all about online play and park. That is what Sports games are coming down to.

You can get drafted 1st. I still think NBA 2k12 is the worst of the past decade. You can only pick certainly colleges because it's hard to obtain licenses.

Can we agree that Spike Lee really hasn't made anything great since He Got Game? Most of his movies were just good enough to alright to meh...

Like OP is saying, instead of a fully scripted story, we should just get a choose-your-own-adventure type of storyline. Or really just open it up, drop the "storyline angle" and just create cut scenes for different situations. Like if you scored 30 points and being generally unstoppable in the first half, you get a cut scene from the other team's coach telling his players to double-teaming you immediately... etc

So finally i started MyCareer, High School every Game won, like everybody!


Chose the UCLA and raised my attributes to 73 OVR with MJ PreOrder.


Get drafted 2^nd by LA Lakers, nice!!!





1^st NBA Game was very funny, in case of a blowout I had a lot of minutes to play, so I recorded 38P, 8R and 10 A with 32 minutes!!!





Funny thing is, that my stats kept that way during the saison, even I played only 8 games by myself like others in case of the story! At the End of the Season I became 80 OVR balanced 6,2ft PG!

• Start off too low. For someone who leaves college early, you're really not dominant. What is the point of leaving college early? Why can't we stay 4 years and finish? Agreed.
• Superstar coming out of High School should have good dribbling skills. Mandatory! You do have good dribbling skills as a guard, you start of with around 71 ball control (at 6'4 balanced) while a guy like a 6'8 Outside SF has a MAX of 66 ball control.
• Why can't I pick Illinois State University? Why am I stuck with only a certain colleges? 2K doesn't have the money to get the licensing for every college in the nation.
  
• When time is a factor, why can't all presentations be disabled for quick gameplays? Madden has this option, hopefully 2K will add it in future iterations.
• CPU not quick or smart enough to pass the ball. Missed opportunities. ? What difficulty are you playing on.
• Can't shake players off especially in college. Iso situations are much harder this year (as they should be) but you can definitely shake a player
• Worse NBA 2K to date everyone is blinded by the organic feel. Completely disagree, this is one of the best 2Ks to date and if some of the smaller problems could be fixed or tuned it could be the best ever. Shooting is realistic, physics are better, player models are improved, defense can actually be played now, etc.

• CPU holds on to the ball too long I believe they made high school easier due to the fact that you are a supposed NBA superstar
• Can't produce much points unless you ball hog Didn't have trouble producing points at both the Point Guard and Small Forward positions

College Games

• Time still a factor, not enough. Clock too short.
• Ball hogging is a must. Really not true, running some pick and rolls/pops sets you up for easy assists
• You're still worse than an NBA bench player Yep

• In college video games, top players are above 70, no 55.

• low pay Not sure what you're getting paid but I've seen contracts ranging from 300-400+

• requires real money to advance and get stuff Obviously it's much MUCH more of a grind if you don't spend money but it's not required, it's something you want to do to make your player better faster

How do you get rookie of the year if you're limited to games? The game opens up after your rookie year. High School time is limited. So I have to ball hog in order to get points up on the board. The most I've scored is 21. I wanted to average around 30 to be a High School Superstar. In college my second career around I lost the Championship. However, during my time in College, I kept getting messages during the loading screen that I'm not doing too well and that Injury plagues me. Yet I was dropping 30+ taking over games. Regardless how well you play, they still won't make me #1 pick.

The game is amazing! But it takes those few errors that kills the game. Not sure about the 71 ball control. I couldn't do ONE cross over without losing the ball. I don't get it. No matter how good you are in High School and College, you always end up with a rating of 55. That's not a Superstar to me. So much more potential for this game. The only thing I see that is good is the organic feel of the game. 100x better than 2k15. Stills fall short IMHO.

Ratings should build up during High School and College and max rating should be like 70. We need to earn our rating.

Note: I play on Pro level. Last year when my guy was dominating, I would increase the difficulty to even out the games. Instead of dropping 70 a game, I would increase difficulty to lower my points.

I'm not too big on the presentations. I'm more of a "LET ME PLAY ALREADY" type guy. I will purchase NBA LIVE 16 because I always buy both games same as I did back in the days with Madden and NFL 2K. I don't mind the support.

I'd like to also note that we pay $60 for a game that only allows you to "Play Now" offline. When servers go down or you don't have internet connection, everything else is pretty much disabled. Should be an offline save file so when you do have internet connection, it can update your info on their server without disabling those features. Right now the servers are down and I can't access MyCareer, 2k Pro-am and MyTeam.

Two things:

- The forced name of "Freq" and that stupid dance animation we're forced into sometimes has to, absolutely, be the most annoying ongoing thing about MyCareer, ever. It was a big mistake, like a further reminder that this isn't really my character but Spike Lee's

- Starting us out 55 OVR was bad enough, but combined with the fact that we're talked about and act like a superstar? Makes no sense. Why am I trash talking with the other team's superstar before the game when I know I'm only gonna get like 10 minutes off the bench? Honestly they should've started you out in the 70s like the other first round picks.

I've been really loving the MyPlayer this year, after I didn't touch it at ALL last year and was strictly a MyLeague guy.

You seem very bitter and very nit-picky about a lot of stuff included. It feels like to me you had a bad experience and kinda want to over-look a lot of the really great stuff they added this year. For one, they could have not included high school or college at all and no one would be insanely up and arms about it. This is it's first year of inclusion, I'm OK with it having flaws. It was a fantastic year 1 entry IMO.

Another thing I see a lot of people complaining about is the story. Do you guys not like a story? Do you guys prefer the HORRENDOUS boring *** career modes of games such as FIFA and Madden? I REALLY like that NBA2k is trying different stuff that isn't just "Upgrade player, play game, end". Yea, I would have liked it if you could have made your own choices but it's one flaw. People complaining about not being able to have your name said or the racial stuff? Seriously? I just feel like if stuff isn't perfect, people love to rip 2k for it, whereas I like them where they're CLEARLY putting in effort while other games send out the same re-hash garbage year after year.
