tquigley4's Promotion/Relegation League with Hail State (NCAA 14)

    Preview
The NCAA has decided to shake things up and drop their old conference system and move on to to a relegation system. The league will be laid out in seven levels. They are the Premier League, Championship League 1, Championship League 2, Challenger League 1, Challenger League 2, Challenger League 3, and the Cellar League.

In the Championship Leagues, the top 3 teams in each league will be promoted. In the Challenger and Cellar Leagues, the two division winners plus the best remaining team will be promoted. Teams may also be relegated to a lower league.

I will be starting in 2013 with 2013 rosters. In 2014, the CFP will be introduced and the playoff format will be used. For teams just entering the FBS since the game has been released (Appalachian St.-2014, Georgia Southern-2014, Charlotte-2015) I will try to add them if you would like. My plan is to have a vote on what teams the viewers would rather have in my dynasty. I will also drop UAB after the 2014 season.

I have set up a test league(with real conferences) to rank teams 1-126 and put them in their respective leagues. This format allows for weird rankings/records, as a #2 or #3 ranked team at the end of the year could have 3 or 4 losses. This format also allows for the top tier teams to be playing tough teams week in and week out to determine who the real champion is. Also, BCS Bowl Tie Ins are turned off.

This is my first dynasty, so pictures, write-ups, and formatting will not be the best but I hope to learn as I move along in the dynasty. I will try to get this started this week. Hope you enjoy!

    Rules
    Game: NCAA Football 14
    Platform: Xbox 360
    Rosters: Yukon46
    Difficulty: All-American
Quarters: 7 Minutes (different from slider set recommended length)
Sliders: Prettylittlesmile’s All-American Slider Set (with some minor tweaks) http://www.operationsports.com/forum...ncaa-14-a.html
Recruiting Rules: None because I’m not the best at recruiting, this may change as the dynasty moves on
Gameplay Rules: 1. Use plays only in the “Ask Coach” section, so I can’t run the same play over and over again. Exception is in hurry up situations. 2. No running up the score late in the game

Note: The relegation idea for this league is NOT my idea. This idea 100% comes from DARKxKNIGHTx2013 in his dynasty found here: http://www.operationsports.com/forum...ncaa-14-a.html

Ladarius Perkins returns a kick 95yds for a TD in the 2nd Quarter
        Recap
Bulldogs would not be denied in season opener, win 34-27 over UNLV
With a slow start in the game, the first scoring came with 2:42 left in the First Quarter with a 27 yard FG by Devon Bell. Less than 1:30 later, UNLV marched down the field to the 10 yard line, but then was stuffed by Mississippi State’s Defence, causing them to settle for a 27 yard FG by Nolan Kohorst. On the ensuing drive, Ladarius Perkins sprinted to a 32 yard TD run to get the offense rolling.

After forcing UNLV to punt, Mississippi State got the ball back and drove down the field. Ladarius Perkins punched in the TD from 1 yard out to put Mississippi State up 17-3. Caleb Herring lead UNLV downfield and ran in the 2 yard TD on the QB keeper. On the ensuing kickoff, Ladarius Perkins received the ball at the 5 yard line and followed a few blocks before running into the endzone to regain momentum for Mississippi State. They could pull away from UNLV if they forced a stop and went into halftime leading 24-10, but this was not the case. UNLV sprinted downfield and scored on a 2 yard TD pass by Caleb Herring. The game went into halftime 24-17, Mississippi State on top.

Defense was the name of the game in the second half. An early touchdown catch by TE Malcolm Johnson on a broken play was about all anybody could muster up until halfway through the Fourth Quarter. UNLV, lead by Caleb Herring, marched on down the field, completing pass after pass on Mississippi State’s Defense. Herring gave the ball to Tim Cornett for the easy punch in and cut Mississippi State’s lead to 7.

After a Mississippi State punt, UNLV got the ball with a minute left on the clock. Herring lead the Rebels past midfield with 0:35 left in the game. After Cornett was stuffed on first down, Caleb Herring threw two incomplete passes to make it 4th & 10 on the 30 with 20 seconds left in the game. Herring took a quick three step drop and fired a bullet to his receiver on a slant route, but Benardrick McKinney stepped up and swatted the ball away to seal the win.

              Recap
Mississippi State squeaks by Buffalo in conference play
Once again, Mississippi State could not put away a lesser opponent. The game was as close as 10-10 in the Fourth Quarter, but Mississippi State snuck by for the win.
The game started with a slow, methodical TD drive by the Mississippi State offense, highlighting Ladarius Perkins’ 55 yards capped off by a 4 yard TD rush. The drive took a total of 4:10, taking up almost the whole First Quarter. Buffalo came right back though, and had a couple of big runs from both their RB Branden Oliver and their QB Joe Licata put them at the 11 yard line to start the Second Quarter. Licata rushed in the TD from 11 yards out to tie up the game 7-7. The teams traded field goals, both with 1:04 or less left in the half. The game went into halftime tied 10-10.
The Mississippi State defense started the second half with a bang, forcing a 3 and out from the Buffalo offense that stomped on them in the first half. Mississippi State could not do anything with the big defensive stop, as on offense they were stopped on fourth down and inches on a incomplete pass from Tyler Russell.
Following a Buffalo punt, Mississippi State drove 85 yards downfield to finish with a 5 yard TD run by who but Ladarius Perkins to give Hail State the lead early in the fourth quarter. After another huge defensive stop, Mississippi State got the ball with 5:49 on the clock. Starting to run the clock out, they ran the ball several times, but picked up a few big gains and got a third TD run from Perkins to cushion their lead. Thank god for that cushion. Less than 30 seconds later, Licata threw up a deep pass to Alex Neutz who jumped over the defender and ran the rest of the way to the house to cut the Mississippi State lead in half. At that point, Mississippi State recovered the onside kick and ran out the rest of the clock, taking a knee to end the game.
Another close win for Mississippi State, but mistakes need to be cut back for next week’s grind as the #1 team in the nation, the Auburn Tigers, come to town.
