Was this possibly a result of simming the season? Also, on the draft board I noticed a new category for "watched" players which wasn't there last year. How does that function come into play? Can you select college players to watch during the regular season?

What happened to the scouting points in Madden 16 360's CFM?
Last night I decided to try starting a CFM in the XBox 360 version of Madden 16, and when I got to the draft, I only had 349 scouting points. I started a Rams franchise with Jeff Fisher as the coach, and since I was mainly interested in trying to run a draft, I simmed the whole regular season. I then worked my way through free agency week by week, and when I got to the draft I realized I only had 349 points, which made any kind of thorough scouting impossible.

they've really tried to make drafting more of a crap shoot.Last night I decided to try starting a CFM in the XBox 360 version of Madden 16, and when I got to the draft, I only had 349 scouting points. Haven't paid attention to the draft points and such when simming, but I get around 150 to 300 a week iirc. U might lose a certain bit of them if u don't use them each week??
I've had plenty to scout the relevant ratings for a decent group of guys weekly so I think it's fine.
Haven't checked our the watched players thing yet.Comment

Re: What happened to the scouting points in Madden 16 360's CFM?
I think I've figured out the answer to the first part of the problem. It looks like this year, unused scouting points don't accumulate as you go. I'm getting 149 per week, so it looks like you have to be sure to scout every week, or you lose the points. Interesting.
Still haven't figured out how to get players into the board's "watched" category.

Ya this year a players base skil set is a lot more important than years past. M25 and 15 you could go with a player with good speed or other physical traits and make them a superstar in half a season.
This year it takes a while to develop that kind of project player which is how it should be imo.
You really have to decide on whether you want someone to be a specialist in one area or a jack of all trades master of none.Comment

yep. have picked up solid OL guys that i do no expect to develop much over lower rated ones who in previous years i would have turned into beasts.Ya this year a players base skil set is a lot more important than years past. it is more realistic. in the past, i've pretty much ignored FA but this time i've been picking up a good one each year because getting an 805 rated player is not easy even after three years of development.Comment
