God mode CPU in final 2 mins?
Has anyone encountered those moments when its the final 2 minutes and the cpu goes in to no huddle mode and no matter what QB you're facing they always turn into god and shred your defense? Any fix around this or is this just something you have to deal with?Add me on XB1 GT: M Sweeeets

Re: God mode CPU in final 2 mins?
It's been like this forever in Madden, sadly.
I haven't found any sort of solution. I've found that my best success has resulted in getting a lucky sack and setting them back. Then they force deep balls and there is a higher probability of getting an incompletion or two.PSN: SiiLv3Rx -
Re: God mode CPU in final 2 mins?
Yeah it's always been this way. Best to be up by 9 so there is no chance of getting torched by Grossman.
makes for some interesting memories though. I still remember in M15, playing the Seahawks when they had 1st and goal from my 8, under a minute to play (in the playoffs no less). They had just driven it effortlessly from where I coffin cornered them ( their 5), in less than a minute.
Came down to 3rd down from the 3, Wilson tries to scramble when he can't find anyone open (slant route was covered by some miracle). BOOM my LB crushes him and he fumbles, I pick it up and rumble back the other way....
Only to have the computer REVIEW the PLAY...and decide that Wilson was down by contact, before the fumble...
They get one more chance, down by 4, with 15 seconds left...4th and goal from the 10.
Wilson decides to run a HB pop pass to the middle of the field, and my whole team converges on Lynch at the 5...he carries them 4 yards and we stop him at the 1. Game over.
I'll never forget itLast edited by Josiphos; 10-09-2015, 12:54 PM.Comment

Re: God mode CPU in final 2 mins?
Seems to me the cpu can go into god mode anytime... I had three touchdowns called back in the last drive of my one of the last games I just played 1. Block in the back call on my wr on the other side of the play 2. Holding 3. Block in the back again. At that point I just turned the game off. Changed the sliders around a bit but it really didn't do much to change things. I pretty much see god mode in the 4th quarter and I really don't matter how the game is going. Winning, losing, or neck and neck so agree with the poster on this for sure.Comment

It sounds like you get 3 normal quarters to determine the game than use the chew the clock tempo in the 4th quarter. That's what I normally try and do. This is where my running game really comes into play.Comment

Playing on All Pro, I'm not seeing this at all. I just finished a game where I got a goal-line stand to end the game on 3 consecutive plays from the 1.Comment

Re: God mode CPU in final 2 mins?
I have noticed that offense in no huddle is nearly unstoppable at times but this goes for both me and CPU and is more than likely the defense getting fatigues/having the wrong defense"Don't ever underestimate the heart of a champion!"

Re: God mode CPU in final 2 mins?
This is very apparent to me for both CPU and the team I control. I play coach mode and it happens at 2:00 before the half and at end of games.
I think it has to do with both fatigue and clutch ratings. I could be wrong but yes...the teams become unstoppable almost all the time during these time frames.
Most of the times if I have low scoring games, in the last 2 minutes of the half or end of game the team(s) will suddenly score once or twice. It's like the defense just becomes porous and receivers are open on deep patterns and RBs are off to the races.

Re: God mode CPU in final 2 mins?
I play with the Bills exclusively and they have a very good defense. I usually shut people down. The only time I seem to give up touchdowns is on an all out blitz where the qb breaks a tackle and makes some ridiculous throw OR a 2 minute drill. I cannot stop the 2min offense. I burn time outs to switch formations, everything. It doesn't matter difficulty either. Even happens when I'm on all-pro. Frustrating.Comment

Re: God mode CPU in final 2 mins?
Good advice. I'll add that I try, not always successfully, to manage the clock and my drives so that the CPU doesn't get the ball in the last 2 minutes of a half. What I can usually do is make sure they don't get the ball for a full two minutes.
Don't know how effective it is, but when forced into playing defense the last 2 minutes of a half, I'll also try change my patterns (for instance, playing more zone instead of my usual man coverage).Last edited by mlb61; 10-17-2015, 04:56 AM.Comment

Re: God mode CPU in final 2 mins?
Yeah, I just played a game last night and I was up on the Raiders using the Packers up 14 to 9 at the half.
I took the ball in the second half and had a 19 play drive for almost 10 minutes and the score was 21 to 9. So, basically, two minutes left in the 3rd quarter and the CPU needs two scores to go ahead of me.
So, Peppers injures Carr on a late hit and in comes McClothin(sp?) and he marches the Raiders in for a score with 8 minutes left. 21 to 16.
The Packers punt the ball away and McClothin(sp) scrambles over to the right and lofts a ball into the end zone. The ball was intercepted by Haha Clinton Dix and the Packers scored another TD. 28 to 16. No beast mode by the CPU.
McClothin proceeds to throw another Int to Randall who does a tip toe on the sideline. mmm, no beast mode by the CPU.
The Packers punt the ball away and McClothin throws another Int to Rollins and Rollins scores on a pick 6. Packers 35 Raiders 16. Still, beast mode not showing up by CPU.
The Raiders didn't score another point.
So, you can control beast mode or whatever you want to call it in Madden.
Try to eat the clock like I did in the third quarter and 4th quarter. I ran Lacy in the 4th quarter to eat the clock on the 28 to 16 score.
And I made sure I switched up the defenses.Comment

Re: God mode CPU in final 2 mins?
Happened to my last night playing as the Steelers with Mike Vick at QB. Threw 3 pics but ab got me two touchdowns in the fourth. so I'm up 29-28 with 55 seconds left and they drive from their 15 to my 32 they are in field goal range. so they run it. I stop them for no gain then they decide to throw it. why not they caught the ball 4 times on the drive in double coverage and they caught the game winning touchdown in double coverage to. lol no drops by their Receivers either. I had about four punched out and like five drops.Comment

Re: God mode CPU in final 2 mins?
I definitely agree with you there, it can be stopped, just when it happens it's the worst, yesterday I played my AFC Title Game vs the 15-1 Chargers and i was down 16-7 about midway thru the 3rd quarter, i took the 21-16 lead just before the 2 min warning and I was worried that god mode would kick in on me, but instead, he completed 2 short passes and i adjusted coverage to "underneath" next play, Jamie Collins seals it with a INT to send me back to the Super Bowl, so i agree with you there.Yeah, I just played a game last night and I was up on the Raiders using the Packers up 14 to 9 at the half.
