Automatic Shot Contest
 

What is the difference between Intense-D and Automatic? I just got this years edition after not playing since 2K14, can someone with more knowledge and experience explain the inner workings of this setting to me?

Automatic shot contest it means that cpu will contest shots for you ALWAYS

Intense D it means that you need to hold L2/LT to contest a shoot

I prefer Intense D or Manual because you dont want to contest every shot sometimes is better to not contest and get better position to rebound

Also of note because it took me a while to learn this - manual means you have to push the right stick up (as in go into hands up defense) before or right as the shooter shoots to get a contest.

I highly suggest NOT to turn automatic on...Your guy will try to contest shots that he's nowhere near and if you play mycareer your grade will go down because of it.(stupid) Also unless your directly infront of your defender,The automatic defense will have no effect..I tried defending automatically from the side and the shots always fall as if i'm not there.
