Loose balls go back to the offensive player almost all the time?
Is it just me or does it seem like pretty much every time a ball is tipped out of an opposing player's hands that 90% of the time it's snatched back up by the offense for a quick score rather than being a true "50 - 50 ball" that can go either way?

Yes your correct but 2k has tuned it down mightily where you hardly see it anymore like previous games. Is it just me or does it seem like pretty much every time a ball is tipped out of an opposing player's hands that 90% of the time it's snatched back up by the offense for a quick score rather than being a true "50 - 50 ball" that can go either way?

Re: Loose balls go back to the offensive player almost all the time?
Blocked shots NEARLY ALWAYS going back to the offense for an easy score has NOT changed. It continues to be a ridiculous issue. The AI on this issue has been awful for years and nothing is ever done about it. It's astounding to me.
When do you ever see a block resulting in the offense getting the ball, let alone putting it back in for a score? Hardly ever. Sad, sad, sad.Run or join free baseball sim leagues at pennantchase.com!Comment

It's about 50/50 for me, so I'm not having as big of an issue with it as you seem to be.Blocked shots NEARLY ALWAYS going back to the offense for an easy score has NOT changed. It's improved a lot this year for sure . I have more of an issue with it going back to the CPU due to them having cat like reflexes#1 Laker fan

Re: Loose balls go back to the offensive player almost all the time?
It always happens in My Career.
I block a layup on my man.
I become "out of position" while the offensive player who was just rejected is perfectly fine..
Allow offensive rebound.
Defensive breakdown.
Allow man to score.
It's actually like more detrimental to play good defense and block a shot at times. MY ai needs to react better when they see a block. People need to hustle to the loose ball or to cover for my man that just got blocked.I don't wanna be Jordan, I don't wanna be Bird or Isiah, I don't wanna be any of those guys.
I want to look in the mirror and say I did it my way.

Re: Loose balls go back to the offensive player almost all the time?
Yeah it's way better than last year, and blocked CPU opponents often won't have the presence of mind to catch the ball after being blocked (though it sometimes happens). But the loose balls the CPU always has the jump on, and you and your AI teammates seem sluggish to react to. It's pretty lame.Comment

Re: Loose balls go back to the offensive player almost all the time?
I guess "way better" is still very disappointing, because even if they got it down to 50/50, it's still totally unrealistic - really how often does the guy that got blocked get the ball back? That almost never happens in the real world.Yeah it's way better than last year, and blocked CPU opponents often won't have the presence of mind to catch the ball after being blocked (though it sometimes happens). Re: Loose balls go back to the offensive player almost all the time?
that....that exact stuff right there inspired this from me
One of the things that gets under my skin is that i dont feel like im rewarded enough for my defense.
For all its faults, one thing i can say about Madden is if I KNOW what a person is going to do, and KNOW how to stop it, you can shut it down. The ways to stop it might not be sim in all scenarios, but they work. And i feel a great since of reward when im successful.
example;
im playing my brother in law in madden and he's moving the sticks all game with come-back routes. Im telling my DB's to shade outside, but this is prior to the latest patch and they're not responding correctly. I know i can stop it with bracket-coverage, but i dont want to use it early enough for him to find a counter. So towards the end of the game, he's marching down the field and needs a crucial 4th down conversion. I call a 2-man under to disguise my coverage, shade inside and hot-route my safeties to buzz zones. He falls for it hook, line and sinker. My strong safety under cuts the route and picks it off. I got such a rush from a successful strategic adjustment that it left a lasting satisfaction thats a fond memory weeks later.
Cut to NBA2k. Many times I make correct adjustments or read a play and when i get a stop its more like "FINALLY!!!". If i read a pass the the tipped ball is recovered by hyper-reactive offensive player. 50-50 balls are more like 60-40 balls. Blocks find their way back in the hand of the offense instead of starting a break and stone wall perimeter defense is pointless when a pass can be darted in the paint pass you supposedly 'denying' defender.
These are the things that grind my gears when im playing someone inferior and these lapses keep them in the game.Comment

O
This is the perfect example of what the OP is talking about. Now I do recover the ball sometimes but things like this happen way too often.Comment
