    MarvellOne's Fictional Draft Classes (PS4)

What's going on people, I finally decided to breakdown and actually create a thread for my draft classes. I been trying my hand at creating draft classes since Beds was roster creating on the ps3 before he got the job working with 2K, not completely new to the process but I'm no expert at this either lol.

Anyway back to the topic at hand. I have finally got to a point where I felt I could release my first draft class, typically I like to do around 60 prospects for each of my classes but I got about 45 created with this one which I think is solid for getting one out. I will eventually get to 60 prospects in future classes and may even add on to this one but I want to let you guys take it for a spin. Hope you guys enjoy, any feedback is much appreciated as it can definitely help make future classes much better.

File name: Fictional NBA DC v.1 (49 prospects)
File name: Fictional NBA DC v.2 (43 prospects)
File name: Fictional NBA DC v.3 (40 prospects)
    PSN: MarvellOne

A side note, for some reason I can't edit the right wrist of the players in the draft class so if players have a Rubberband on their right arm 9 times out of 10 that is why.

Hey man, was your draft class the one with the bald SG rated 77 overall? Kinda looks like Stackhouse?
If so, i have some feedback.
I haven't simmed with your draft class yet, but i went through and had a look at the potentials of the top players. Maybe you meant it intentionally, but Mr Stackhouse Lookalike has a potential of 78. Which means his ceiling is quite low (capped at approx 78). I noticed the same trend with a few other players too.
Again, maybe it's intentional. If so, cool. If not, you might find the info about potential in this thread to be useful...

Yeah it was intentionally done. I don't want all top players to always be 80+ potentials

Going to be going through the tendencies of my first draft class and do more editing to tendencies and minor adjustments to attributes as well as continuing my 2nd class which is coming along nicely. Will keep you guys posted on progression.

I'm looking forward to downloading these. I'll most likely use the classes you make in the addition to the ones I have and have been working on.

My routine is to go through the dynasty mode on College 2k8. At seasons end, go through and look at stats and potential. I have an iphone stand to take pictures of the players individual ratings and their tendency chart. I've have created my draft classes by transferring names, attributes (adjustments), and usually use the potential they have from 2k8. It takes time but it feels more realistic to watch the recruiting take place and watch stats populate. I've created about 3-4 classes with about 30-40 prospects each. I look at the remaining prospects and adjust names and attributes.

I really would go the same route with College hoops 2k8 but I don't have a ps3 or 360 anymore =/ always wanted to go that route

Nice. I appreciate that you're doing something different to the other classes that just create stars. Though i would think it might be a stretch of realism to think that a guy who is so far ahead of the developmental curve to be rated 78 as a rookie would not become something pretty great in the NBA. But again, strange things do happen! So i appreciate that.

Btw, i'm running tests of all the draft classes around at the moment. I'm about 5 years deep, gonna plug yours is soon. I'll let you know some results/feedback if you want. I have a feeling yours are gonna be real good

Yeah, it's kind of an old habit before 2k incorporated the peak system but I have found so far in my testings regardless of overall potential the classes can still be very much random when it comes to players and their growth even with potentials being low or high at times. Gregory lane (who is the guy you talk about) I have seen him develop slowly reaching the low 80s in 3 or 4 simmed years and I have seen him develop quickly reaching mid 80s in the same amount of time. The game seems to be pretty dependent on playing time as well that factors in growth which is great. But you will get players who are top guys in my classes who pull a Derrick Williams of Arizona who was very NBA ready entering the draft, went drafted #2 overall and hasn't made much an impact in his nba career past role player status.

That's the kind of the feel I go for, to give that risk vs reward system. I'm still learning as I go how I can shake things up with my classes while being careful not to have too many superstar players at the top and making it interesting to discover real gem players who aren't seen as very talented but have the potential to be a breakout star if given the chance ala Gilbert Arenas. Again it's still a work in progress on how to do it the correct way but I really appreciate the feedback and any feedback you have in the future will definitely help in developing classes.

Love it. I feel like i can trust your classes now. Make more!

How in depth are your player edits? Like, do you get stuck into the tendencies and animations too? Some other classes lack edits beyond attributes, vitals, and faces.

Right now I'm going back into the editing of tendencies so they are in line with how the official rosters are set. I tend to edit tendencies and player animations as well so I don't just leave them all to default they get touched up. I try to make the player play as I want them too. When it comes to animations I put some work into them....my centers won't have dribble animations a guard will have and shooting forms reflect that as well.

Not saying I'm extremely good at tendency edits or anything I'm still getting a good feel for that. My first draft class is getting reworked with lots of edits so what I have up right now is old but can be tested for more feedback. My 2nd class is still in works as well but coming along nicely.

I also edit badges to be reflective of their skills as well. Everyone will have personality badges for those myGM people as well as game badges, now since they are rookies I tend to only give them bronze badges very rare will I go higher than that, too skeptical if I should give out silver and gold badges but they will get bronze at the very least. When it comes to personality type badges not many will get the ones that effect game play like Road Dog, closer (if any) but badges like fierce competitor, hardened and such some players will have because I feel that is based on a players mind set. Any help or feedback on badges will be a big help.

Note: if you download my draft class now you will see tendencies for players who have been edited but a lot still have my old tendency edits
