Hall of Fame difficulty is completely unfair

I can't see how anyone at 2k thought this was reasonable. I'm not even saying it is just to hard, but it is incredibly swayed towards the CPU. The CPU gets countless shooting fouls, intercepts all passes possible, plays lock up perimeter defense and makes crazy shoots on my players with regularity. I see this type of stuff from the CPU on All Star and Superstar, but on HoF the BS is maxed and never ending.

It is one thing to make it hard, it is another to make it totally unrealistic in an effort to make it hard.

MyPlayer Center 7'3 92 Overall Inside Scorer...

Also, HOF difficulty has historically been this way.

Not talking about MyCareer. You have a problem with 7'3 centers?

That's why I stop playing a few years ago. All they do is cheat.

That's the entire point of HoF, it's not supposed to be fair in any way shape or form, everything is supposed to go against you, it's the hardest difficulty. The devs even said the game is designed to be played on Superstar Sim. Only play on HoF if you want the absolute hardest and most unfair challenge.

              its supposed to be unfair.

              its the highest difficulty.

every game is unreasonably hard on the highest difficulty.

              that's the challenge....

I play HOF on MyCareer, but AI would never play on HOF in anything else. I usually play on All-Star

Re: Hall of Fame difficulty is completely unfair

I've never touched Hall of Fame user vs. cpu. Only time I play on hall of fame is if a head to head user wants to play on it. And I don't like it then either. That difficulty doesn't make sense to me and a lot of random BS happens far too often. It's just not an enjoyable video gaming experience.

I don't understand why so many people subject themselves to that nonsense. I usually play All-Star sim every year. That's the right balance for my game play style. This year I'm on pro-sim. I play the game at a realistic pace and I've had so many close games against the cpu. Buzzer beaters, close loses ect. I'll bump it up to all-star sim again soon. But I won't go past that difficulty.

I suggest find a difficulty that fits your style of play that makes it enjoyable.

Put the Hands sliders 40...Ballhanding 40 and you will get some good games. Don't touch anything else start with sim sliders and drop those 2.

But they will do weird things to make you loose..WARNING!!

Re: Hall of Fame difficulty is completely unfair

Yea HOF is hard but it is beatable. You first have to play at the minimum 5 games to get how the cpu plays on HOF.

                        For example:

ICON passing is your friend. On HOF, the cpu cheese (interceptions for no reason) will take affect when you make pass just by pressing the pass button with direction. But with ICON pass you are passing to the correct person you want to pass to. So that eliminates the interception cheese by the cpu to some degree. Always put your icon passing when off a pick and roll especially if your looking to create.

Also, play off the ball with a big 75% of the time. This helps with the backdoor cheese. Your playing more like a free safey so you can see what is going on. And you can ICON change to a defender if you see that a defensive rotation is about to be wrong.

For the shot cheese. On defense, when closing out. Dont go for the block. Instead press turbo and sprint at the CPU's left leg. This will trigger the kickout shot animation in which the game looks at as a hard contest shot. Cpu will miss most of those as opposed to a regular closeout or block attempt.

In other news....water is wet and the sky is blue.

We're not at the point in video game AI where the highest difficulty level means the "smartest" game. It still has to fudge the game mechanics towards the CPU to increase the challenge. As of last year (and I'm sure it's still true), the 2k devs admitted that "funny business" goes on on HOF.
