I am back! I just picked up FIFA 16 and will be starting a fictional Manager Dynasty with Borussia Monchengladbach. The Foals have reached back into their history to hire German legend Lothar Matthaus to be their next manager. The former player comes in with some managerial experience at both the club level and national level, but has never been given a chance to manage in the Bundesliga.

Some of you may know me from previous Madden, MLB The Show, College Hoops, and FIFA dynasties. The format will be relatively similar. I like to focus on the games and use this forum to help me keep an interest in my dynasties and pass along my story to everyone else.

Recap: Borussia Monchengladbach met it's preseason goal of qualifying for the 2016-17 Champions League by finishing 4th in the Bundesliga. They stunned most of the world by reaching the finals of the 2015-16 Champions League before falling to fellow German side Bayern Munich in a wonderful final. This team is very young and should only get better moving forward.

Recap: Borussia Monchengladbach had a mixed bag of results. A disappointing fifth place finish in the Bundesliga, and getting knocked out in the group stage of the Champions League. They did manage to get to the finals of the Euro League, but got trounced 4-1 by Juventus.

Since Borrusia Monchengladbach has many resources, we are not limited in what or who we can bring in. But the hiring of Lothar Matthaus has brought a renewed interest in developing local talent for Gladbach. We have hired three very well thought of scouts to set up our youth network.

Thorsten Ressler: the Austrian brings in a wealth of experience and had impeccable judgement. He is our top scout and will be setting up a network in Germany to scout the young locals.

Youssef de Lange: the Dutch scout also brings a wealth of experience and has excellent judgement. We have assigned him to the Netherlands to dig up some of the best Dutch talent and send them to Germany.

Miroslav Abelovsky: rounds out our youth scouting staff. The Serbian has a long history of scouting talent and for the most part, is excellent at what he does. We have sent him to France to bring back young French talent to Borussia Monchengladbach.

We have spent almost $10,000,000 in youth scouting with the hopes that we can keep the talent pool at Borussia young and develop through our youth academy. That still leaves the club with over $11M to spend on the open market.

The Borussia Monchengladbach schedule for the 2015-16 campaign has been released and it looks daunting. The Foals will open the season in Spain at the Champions Tourney. The tournament features Valencia CF (Spain), Ajax (Netherlands), and Athletic Bilbao (Spain) in Gladbach's group. Villarreal CF (Spain), Genoa (Italy), Liverpool (Premier League) and Feberbahce (Turkey) make up the other group. The top two teams in each group advance to the semi-finals.

Borussia Monchengladbach will also play in the Champion's League this year. They have been grouped with Zenit (Russia), Olympique Lyonnais (France) and KAA Gent (Belgium).

Key Bundesliga matches this season include the opener at Borrusia Dortmund on August 15, hosting Bayern Munich on December 5, hosting rival 1. FC Koln on February 20, and closing the campaign at newcomer SV Damstadt on May 14.

Barcelona, Spain (AP) - The debut of Lothar Matthaus as the manager of Borussia Monchengladbach was a successful one as the Foals edged past Ajax 1-nil in the opening match of the 2015 Champions Trophy Tournament. Raffael tucked away the lone brace of the match in the 60th minute in a very defensive battle.

The opening half saw both teams sitting back defensively with very little offense. Borussia Monchengladbach outshot Ajax 2-1 in the opening half. But they came out after the half and attacked the Amsterdam side, outshooting them 8-1 in the second half with Raffael tallying the lone goal. He would also bounce one off the woodwork in the 87th minute that would have put Ajax away.

"I was happy with the way that we played," said Matthaus afterwards. "Understand that this was just our first preseason match, but i liked the effort."

Newly acquired midfielder Thorgan Hazard looked very good. He came on as a second half substitute and his forward play really got Gladbach moving with a positive tone. He had two shots on goal and setup a couple of very good scoring chances.

The Foals return to action Wednesday evening as they will face Athletic Bilbao.

Really love reading this, I'm doing a Mochenhladbach career mode myself so it's interesting seeing how this compares to mine. Also it's very well written. Good job and good luck!
