Playing offline cf with two controllers

Sorry if this has been asked before I did a search on here and acouple other sites but couldn't find what I was looking for.. Anyway I'm tryin to play with one of my friends on my offline cf and I'm not able to figure it out. I read somewhere that all you needed to do was sign the second player in as a guest and then pick the week you want to play and they would be able to choose the other team but that didn't work. Is there another way todo this?

Haven't done it myself but I "think"

You need to also make sure to pick the team you want 2nd controller to control and "create a user" in game. (R3 Button at CFM dashboard)
