Limited # of active badges for 2k17?

Along with the harsher stat caps this year, I'm hoping they bring back the limited badges you could have active. I think this could also help individualize my players better as a shooter who has ever single shooting badge is a super tough match up. If he has all his dribble badges he's also making me slide around and hesitate when i have lockdown defender. I think you should be forced to choose your load out every game as other rpg or fps games do.

Good idea with the load out. They also need to add position specific badges.

I was actually thinking this too, I feel the cap should be bigger than the 7 of 2K14, but also smaller than now. So maybe 20? Maybe 15? But right now you can basically get every badge and have them all. It would be great online wise.

I'm sure offline guys would hate this though.

I wouldn't mind just so long as they let us have more than 6 this time

I think seven to nine is the sweet spot. More individuality in the Park/PROAM would be great.

If limitation is the goal (which I don't personally agree with), then 20 badges doesn't restrict that in any way.

The best way is to move park away from career. I hate having myplayer limited to provide a more competitive mode in a different part of the game.

Yeah cuz who pays $60 for a game that represents being a real life NBA player who has limited capabilities and is human, vs a player that has every video game possibility and can put up ridiculous numbers game in and game out?

                  Err no lol.

I remember one year where we had both attributes AND skills and we have to level them up separately. I think that should come back instead of badges.

Either that or do away with badges completely and instead have more specific attributes that we can level up separately. So maybe instead of just 3pt attribute, we can divide that into further smaller categories, like so:
                  • 3pt spot up ability
                  • 3pt moving hop pull up
                  • 3pt pulling 1-2 pull up

                  Or even smaller categories:
                  • 3pt spot up ability
                  • 3pt moving hop pull up to the left
                  • 3pt moving hop pull up to the right
                  • 3pt moving 1-2 pull up to the left
                  • 3pt moving 1-2 pull up to the right

I separate them like that because if you're a right handed shooter, pulling up while moving to the left is much easier than moving to the right, and vice versa with a lefty.

Most NBA players have quirks and strengths that can't be reproduced now but, with a detailed attribute and skill system, can be reproduced. Like Al Jefferson who loves posting up from the left block. Or how Cousins can post up either blocks, and go over either shoulder in either block. These should be skills and should be factored in.

We should also have more mental attributes as well. The ability to focus during games should be one. When you're more focused it's easier to ignore defense and/or boosts offensive stats, and so on.

Steph is a great shooter and passer. He's not the greatest defender and definitely not dunking on anyone ever. He's hitting a lot of shots and is really hot right now, but he's going to have an off night eventually. Plus, you know how many ridiculous shots he's making right now? He's just throwing it up, it's like he's playing 2k15.

I think there should be a load out screen for my park. So lets say you unlock 25 badges in mycareer you can always use those badges in any mode except pro-am/ mypark. When playing mypark you have a screen where you select a few of the badges you have kinda like a load out. So maybe your team needs you to be a rebounder one game and you load up on your unlocked rebounding skills and then next game load up on your post scoring skills.

I love the badge system where you can earn and work for certain badges.
A limit certainly is not what I would want, but there should be limitations: no Big Men with dribble badges, no PG with brick wall etc.

I dont like the loadout option i think it should go like this say ua got 40 badges the 25 your player activates most is what your guy gets in the park period thats your signature badges not your favorite... And the guy that said split skill and signature noooo i hope not but i would like to see mid range seperated from 3pt again so instead of like 6 categories maybe theirs 9 but boosts are cheaper vc wise

This game doesn't represent being a "real life NBA player" though, for one good reason: It's a game. Just like movies. Limiting our myplayers should be our choice, not the games.

Those that want to limit their own characters don't have to use up their upgrades. If you're (you generally, not you personally) happy being a balanced SF with a 75 3 point shooting rating, then don't upgrade it any-more once you get it up to that level, same with your dunk at 83.

I just think it would make for even more steep competition if you had to pick and choose which badges you got. 20 seems a bit high. Maybe 10 for online play. I don't mind if it were for only online so as to not punish the offline kids.

And as far as it being a GAME, we had the most realistic basketball simulation at launch and everyone cried so NOW it's a GAME but i would prefer it to be more SIM.
