I think it's much better with the right stick for shooting and dribbling.

Honestly 2k13 had the best controls in my opinion if it wasn't for no blocks on dunks, 2k13 would've been goat in the 2k series just my opinion but those controls I miss most.Comment

Controls are flawless now imo. Are you talking sega dreamcast nba2k where the only option you had was spin lob a ally oop?

I prefer the old way myself. I liked that you could only post up in the proper context. I'm not sure which 2k brought in the designated post buttons but the button is cheesy for blow by moves to the basket. Contextual posting isn't without its issues as well but I prefer that poison. That said the old school post moves and there controls were way better. The only problem I had was that everyone had the same moves albeit their success with them was different depending on who you used. If a move isn't in someone's repetoire, it shouldn't be in the game. Aside from posting the dribble moves and shot stick being the same has definitely led me into doing one when I want to do the other at times but it's not too bad of an issue. I just feel like things like step backs and leaners were easier with the old setup but I've adjusted for the most part.

Not the actual control scheme was better, but how much more in control of your guy you were in those games. More animations is large reason why it feels like you can't control anything whats going on. However there is still big learning curve with the game and more I play 2k16 more i feel what I have to do for a certain moves etc.Comment

I would say no, but 2K14 was the best the stick has felt IMOComment

13 was the best control scheme. But i like how the pass buttons are separated. It helps those of us who understand context passing. Yeah, i relied on X a lot last year but my favorite passes last year were the lob out of the paint. Now i can drive and do the same thing with one button. Drive and kick is best with either flashy pass or lob pass this year.Comment

I like how there was a lot more dribble moves and signature gathers in 11; they kinda brought it back with the iso moves they have now in 16.
That said, the variety of crosses, hesi's, etc were better in 11.
I still think the dribbling needs work, though. I just can't stand seeing slow bigmen doing crosses or behind the backs that give little boosts of speed and direction for them artificial blow-by's.
Every position can do every move, regardless of size. It's easier to strip bigs doing too much now, but the fact they can still do the exact moves of guys like Steph or AI just turns me off.I don't wanna be Jordan, I don't wanna be Bird or Isiah, I don't wanna be any of those guys.
I want to look in the mirror and say I did it my way.
