Activision and Robomodo have released Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5 patch 1.03, weighing in at a whopping 7.8GB. Check out the details below.

Content

• Additional levels have been added (Underground, Wild West)
• Additional character campaigns have been added (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Tyler the Creator)
• Lighting and visuals have been improved for several levels
• Ability to regain Special Meter during a single combo has been added
• Per-Mission Leaderboards have been added
• Added option to "Return to Freeskate" while in a Mission or Mode
• Added option to "Return to Freeskate" while search for the other player for Co-op Missions or Modes
• Tutorial has been updated
• Many Pro Skaters' Textures have been updated
• Several Pro Skaters have recived Sponsor update
• Create-a-Park Levels have been updated
• Increased the total number of Stat points a Campaign can earn from 128 to 150

Gameplay

• Several gameplay mechanics within the levels have been updated
• Grinds were updated in several of the levels

Networking

• The User Generated Content Rating System has been updated
• Added Likes/Dislikes to the User Generated Levels
• New Challenge UI Flow for matching during FreeSkate has been added
• Leaderboard functionality was updated
• Several multiplayer modes have been added and updated
• Modes added include "Daily Grind," "Skate Hoarding" and "Manual Mayhem"

UI

• More options for user preference have been added including:
• Double tapping grind button to activate slam
• Opt in/out of Global Voice Chat
• Several UI audio effects have been added
• Misc - minor UI fixes and improvements have been made

So with this patch and with what they have done from the time the game first came out is this game now worth getting at all? I love tony hawk games threw American wasteland with tony hawk 4 being the best but after waste land tony hawks games really sucked and it sounded like from reviews of this game it was really bad like all time bad.

Still probably not worth it. This game looks more less designed for an iPad

lol really that bad? While I know right now the game is on sale for $25 but I still don't want to get it and hate it because I hate wasting money. I know the patch was going to make the graphics better or at least that was said but I have not seen any sort of comparison from before and after of what the game looks like.

I bought this day 1 - it is a pretty fun game. The patch did fix some things as well. You can get this game pretty cheap now. I honestly wasn't upset paying full price.

The only positive change I've seen with this patch is the option to remap the slam button as a double tap of triangle.

The framerate is still PS1 quality. The physics and camera still freak out too often. The two new environments are uninspired and the missions just rehash the same stale objectives from the rest of the game. THPS 5 still isn't any fun to play at all.

You're better off buying THPS 1 through THUG 1, OlliOlli 1 + 2, or the Skate trilogy if you want to play a skateboarding game.

Just got this today. Finished the tutorial and have been trying to load the first level for a while now. It won't launch for some reason. It just endlessly plays the loading screen. Anyone heard of this issue?

Hmmm. I'm assuming it must be the update because I got no prompt to download it. When I check for update it says that it's already up to date.

Yeah, I have version 1.00. Hmm. Never dealt with anything like this before.

Me: Yeah, I just got a hard copy of Tony Hawk today and the levels won't load. I realized that I don't have the most recent update. I have version 1.00 and they're on 1.03. but it won't automatically download anything like normal. It says my game is up to date. I don't know what to do

Jason: I’m sorry to know that you are experiencing issues with update you need to have I am afraid to tell you that the servers in charge of this are having some issues, people that try to download the updates for the games or even content for the games are having issues, we are aware of this and we are working in order to fix the issue as soon as possible, we appreciate your patients, my apologizes for this matter

Me: okay. how long has the game been having issues?

Jason: I am aware that were able to fix some issues at this points but the servers is not completely working, so please try in a couple of hours, we do not have an estimated time but you can try again in two hours and see if you are able to update the game
