Introduction

These are a direct port of the PSP roster set I am making. Actually, these have really become the primary rosters I've been editing since there's more detail in this game in terms of player visual attributes and more feedback from the community.

May 18, 2016: A youtube user wanted me to do NCAA 07, so I made a quick port for that. Pretty simple, just rename the 06 roster to the 07 roster and voila! Added the save file below.

May 6, 2016: Updated NCAA 11 to latest roster version. Added NCAA 09 roster! Check out the mods thread to see how to port these rosters to other games in the series if you play a different title.
Added an FCS 2015 roster for NCAA 06 but it only includes changes to Western Kentucky, Texas State, and UMass

April 13th Update fixes some depth chart issues with Kick Off Specialists. Some teams auto selected non-kickers to do kick offs?! I also expanded the hair styles to the full set of hair based on certain attributes. Still trying to improve player model shapes. I think some players are a little skinny...

April 10th Update fixes all skin tone issues finally! Thanks to Harry97 for all the fun discussion on this topic!

April 9th Update includes a complete reformulation of the conversion process from PS3 to PS2/PSP. This update will fix all skill attribute issues that were present before and carry over any other minor changes I've fixed. Thanks to Cuberoster for mentioning this issue!



FEATURES:

2015 Rosters:

• Based on Vikesfan059 community PS3 roster from early January 2016.
• FBS Rosters only!
• Converted text names to numerical names used in PSP/PS2
• Features ~62 faces, 7 skin tones, and various accessories
• Used a statistical averaged body shape function to determine body&muscle sizes based on height-to-weight ratio
• Bugs may still be present. Please let me know if you run across any!

Instructions:

Included are ActionReplay MAX and PSU saves for FreeMcBoot. Use it with the appropriate device/software. If you need it on a different save device tool, you can convert it using PS Save Builder 0.8x.

Anyone interested in a roster for another title in the PS2 series? I just picked up a PS2 Slim so I may try to make one for NCAA 11 as well, and see which game I prefer more.

Try this out. It looks like it's working for me at least in quick play and roster management screens. I don't have time today to dive too much deeper.

It includes a Action Replay MAX file (*.max) and a PSU file (*.psu)

cuberoster has pointed out to me that a lot of players have very low awareness and strength ratings. I dont have a great deal of time today but I took a quick look and it does seem like he's correct. I am going to look back at those ratings and see how if the calculation to get them is different than what it is for all the other ratings and see if I can derive it and correct it.

My initial ratings thoughts were that every player's rating in the database was 68 + X, where X is the value listed in the save file. This seems to be accurate for every category, but now I have been made aware that for AWR and Strength, the game spits out 40s for a bunch of people.

Thanks to Cuberoster for pointing this out and Harry97 for trading comments with, I think we figured out the ratings issue and I have at least one test that seems to have working rosters with ratings that stick. Still trying to fix one issue related to starting a new dynasty, but Ill hopefully post a new roster soon.

I'm planning on making this for NCAA 06 and possibly NCAA 11, but future updates, at least extensive updates/mods, will probably be NCAA 06 only unless there's interests in NCAA 11 rosters (or another in the series). My instructions should help anyone who does want to port over to any game in the series though.

We are working on improving player models, and any skintone fixes that may still be present as we learn more about the PS2 roster database. If you do notice any skin coloration issues, loading a player in the appearance editor will automatically fix skin color issues.

Appreciate your work. Is it possible yet to take a ps2 roster, edit it with an editor, then play it in the game? No psp involved??

PSP isnt required to edit a PS2 roster. The PSP is only required for PSP editing

Using Madden DB Editor, is similar to what you probably see using Generic EA Editor for PS3. It'll just be a bunch of tables with column headers that are 4 letter acronyms.

You can export it to CSVs and edit the CSVs. I need to update my "NCAA_Findings" spreadsheet with more lessons learned but some or most of it is documented in the modding thread.

I see. Very interesting. Here's my question. I don't have a ps2 anymore. I have a PS3 that plays ps2 games with the saves concerted. Will this work for .psv format saves

you probably need to convert back to a ps2 save first. I sold my ps3 so I don't know and never tried.
