Hello everyone and welcome to my first every dynasty log! I'll be taking over Olympique Lyonnais and attempting to change the status quo in Ligue 1 since PSG has won the league 3 straight years. I'm really excited about this career mode with OL being my favorite club. The only thing I'm bummed about is not having our new stadium

Olympique Lyonnais had an incredible run throughout the early 2000s of SEVEN straight league titles. However the club has not won the league since 2008, despite finishing in the top 5 every year since.

Choc des Olympiques: The rivalry between Olympique Lyon and Olympique de Marseille is not known for its bad blood, but competitiveness. The record currently stands at 29-37-28 in Ligue 1 play with Lyon just one win ahead of Marseille.

Derby Saint-Étienne - Lyon: The rivalry between Saint-Étienne and Lyon dates back to 1951 when the clubs had their first meeting. This rivalry has a little extra heat to it due to being a blue collar (Saint-Étienne) vs white collar (Lyon) battle between two cities. Saint-Étienne currently holds the upper hand in Ligue 1 play with a record of 36-29-31.

You're good man! I'm excited. I've decided that I'm going to hold on to Lacazette unless I get an offer for €75 million. I think I'm going to create buyout clause prices for all my big time players. I'm excited to get this going!

Yeah I waited for a season before selling Lacazette. I however decided to only sign French/African players but found it really interesting.

I think I'll be doing the same! I've set up a youth scout in France and I've only looked at purchasing French players so far.

The Squad

Koura was purchased from Nimes for €2.5 million.
Steed Malbranque was sold to Stade de Reims for €300k.
Aldo Kalulu has been loaned to GFCA for the season.
Olivier Kemen has been loaned to Cambridge United for the season.
Christopher Martins Pereria has been loaned to Morcambe for the season.

Champions!

Olympique Lyonnais won their 9th Trophée des Champions today, defeating Paris Saint-Germain by a score of 2-0. It was a tightly contested battle, but PSG were unable to convert upon their many chances in the game. After the game Lyon boss Bruno Génésio remarked "I think we were a little lucky today. PSG had plenty of chances but couldn't convert. Lopes was fantastic in net for us."

Lyon opened their Ligue 1 campaign with a 1-0 victory at home over Lorient!

Defeat In Guingamp

Lyon suffered a 2-0 defeat in the second match of league play. Guingamp were the superior team on the day as Lyon failed to produce any goals. Guingamp have now moved in to first place in the league. Lyon have fallen to 11th. After the match a disgruntled Bruno Génésio remarked that Lyon can't afford another match of such poor quality. "Lyon belongs at the top of the table. This club has lots of history and the expectation is to be competing for titles," Génésio said.

Lyon Play Out Draw With Rennais

First off, I'd like to apologize for not having a video highlight for this match. I completely messed up during the video editing and the clips got deleted. Thankfully I had the screenshot to use. Hopefully I won't have the same mistake happen again with the video clips!


Lyon and Stade Rennais played out a 0-0 draw today. Few chances were created, and those that were did not result in goals. Lyon hit the post twice today, highlighting the current struggles of their season. With the draw Lyon moved up a spot to 10th in the table.

In other news, Lyon have rejected their final offer to buy Ghanaian LM Frank Acheampong from Anderlecht. The deal was set to bring the speedy winger to Lyon for €6 million, but Lyon rejected the deal. Instead, OL have brought in 18 year old Dalcio from Benfica on loan to add depth after Ghezzai broke his collarbone. Lyon will travel to Caen for their 4th Ligue 1 match on Saturday.

Lacazette Brace Leads Lyon

Olympique Lyonnais found a victory at Caen this weekend behind a brace from Alexandre Lacazette. The French striker found his shooting boots and scored on two headers (his first goals of the campaign). Lyon have now captured 7 points in the first four games of the season.

Lyon Defeat League Leaders

Lyon came away 2-0 victors over the league leaders this weekend. Lille seemed far outmatched on the road and after Lacazette opened the scoring (3) early Lille seemed flustered and were never able to recover.
