Seriously though, this is a big blow to ANY CFM wish list out there; I reckon this is a top 3 most requested feature for a long time now so it will be interesting to see EA's version of listening to the community:/Comment

Correct, seemed that way. And coming from Clint, you have to believe they are trying
What is puzzling is: They always use the reasoning (excuse) of the old code as a limitation to not adding new stuff... Well, this is something that was actually included in the old, formation subs where in Madden for a long time! How come it is so hard to include in the game then?Comment

Bummer. The "not at launch" verbiage gives hope for a new feature in a title update, but I'm not holding my breath just yet.
That said - do people consider formation substitutions a Connected Franchise feature? I don't. Should formation subs return to the game, I want to have access to that functionality in all modes, not just CFM. I imagine that's part of the challenge on their end.Comment

Good call, CM. I def can see them being used in MUT and Draft Champions. I associate it with franchise mode because that's where it really stood out in past Maddens. I can see how trying to apply to more than one mode could cause some problems. It just sucks because this has been on the top of a lot of people's wishlists for years.
Oh well, I don't choose what works and what doesn't, I just play the game. This sucks, but the gameplay news thus far is really promising.Comment

Same here. I was feeling pretty good that custom draft classes and formation subs would make it in since this seems to be THE year for big improvements.
Subs are a tough one to take, and now I am worried that custom classes will not make it either.Comment

It should be available for all modes of course, but I feel like it's something that is mostly used by people who play CFM. I could be wrong but it doesn't seem to me to be something that most Play Now, MUT, or DC users would really care about.Jordan Mychal Lemos

Personally I see formation subs as being very valuable to high-level players in Salary Cap Ranked and Draft Champions where there is challenge in roster construction, similar to Franchise mode.
I see it as something that everyone will want to use and shouldn't be walled off to one mode.Comment
