    Franchise Advice

Hey guys, I'm having a bit of a dilemma. I just started my NYY Franchise in The Show 16 and I'm really excited to get started with it. However, I can't decide whether or not I want to play every game or just one game from each series. I've never played every game before, but I feel it would be fun. On the other hand though I feel I might have to much of an advantage on the CPU thus making my record much better than my roster could produce. But if I were to sim some of the games and play one or two from each series I think that'd even it up. I'm not sure what I should do... any advice?

I haven't done this in a while (I play all my games now), but one thing you could consider is Play 1, Sim 5. That keeps the rotation in order, sims a whole bunch, and lets you get through it quickly. I've found it to be a great way to get through multiple seasons quickly.

I play 1 and then sim 5 from opening day until the end of July. Once August hits I then play 1 and sim 2 which let you play 1 game of every series 95% of the time. Lets me get a good amount of games in and allows me to get multiple seasons in.

I play every game, as I want the stats to be mine and I want to be in control of the outcome of the game and in control of how my team plays. Plus this way, you don't miss out on memorable games and memorable moments.

I play every game as well, I never understood simming(not knocking those who do, just not my cup of tea). Win or loose, hot streaks, cold streaks, world series champs or last in the majors, I want it to be on me.

            Re: Franchise Advice

It's a difficult balance. I generally don't like simming a lot since the team won't feel like "my" team. It will feel like a random computer simulation. That being said, I love the idea of building a team, scouting out fresh new talent, training them up and crafting a championship level squad.

Unfortunately, with games taking so long to play, I might not ever complete a 162-game season without simming. If I can't play multiple years, I can't do much to build a team. As such, I usually give in and end up only playing the first game of every series. That lets me play against every team in every stadium and at least feel like I have some connection to my team's success (or failure).

I would recommend playing every game. It's really worth it. Also the sim engine is not terrible for a console game but it's not perfect either.

I feel the slumps and hot streaks that you as a player bring to the table are very organic and add to the game. I sometimes find myself ready to throw the controller around due to poor discipline and other times waiting for my pitch and drilling it all game. I like that the game challenges me to be consistent when it's really hard to do so.

Also it's great knowing at the end of the season 100 percent of the stats were me. Very immersive.

I can do a season every 3 months or so.

I used to be an every game player which was awesome but I wanted to get through multiple seasons. Now I pick one game out of a three game series and 2 games out of a four game series.

Thanks to the Carryover Save feature, I no longer worry about getting through multiple seasons. I just play and pickup where I left off when the new game comes out.

I play every game and while it's definitely time-consuming and grueling, it's also really fun. Definitely recommend doing it.

I play on Hall of Fame with the Phillies and after simming 3 seasons to build my roster through the draft, I have the 2nd best roster in the game and am currently 71-41, 2nd best record in the MLB (Dodgers have 74 wins). I really like playing with the players I drafted and progressed, that's what keeps me coming back.

Yeah, I think carry over saves changed the game(all pun intended). I've seen a lot of people doing 2 franchises. .mm one carry over and one new(doing something different with it)

carry over saves is the greatest addition to this series ever.

I play every game now with the year to year saves I'm currently playing my 2016 brewers team from MLB 15. My record is 115-12 but I still enjoy playing every game!

                            115-12!

Goodness gracious that is an outstanding record!

How many games do you lead the division by?

52.5 games! I also pitch on Hall of fame and hit on All-star so I don't know how i do it! Team ERA is 2.09 and AVG is .338 with a SLG of .607 but I do suck at taking walks.

                              This is my normal lineup
                              1. Segura SS
