Im sick of all the diving plays!!

Seriously at this point the number of diving plays in seeing in this game is making it unplayable for me at this point. Why is every single fielder for the cpu a gold glove player? Its getting too frustrating at this point to see every single game I play having at least 2 or 3 web gems, especially by fielders that are not particularly good.

For me personally I wish there were more web gems in the games that I play. I don't see enough defensive web gems, or great plays. Seems a great majority of the defensive plays are routine.

You're seeing 2 or 3 web gems a game, I'm lucky to see 2 or 3 web gems in a week or two's worth of games.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Re: Im sick of all the diving plays!!

Raising the fielder error sliders and lowering fielder reaction might help this.

Raising IF/OF Fielder Error increases the chances of mistakes (so maybe they dive/jump but they misjudged so the dive/jump isn't exact or the route is too inaccurate and the dive fails as a result). It's also said (I believe by a dev) that it impacts the "reliability" of the Reaction rating (i.e. how often the rating "plays up" as is should). I think with the new defensive system, the Fielding rating has something to do with it, too, not just error chances.

Lowering Fielder Reaction increases the likelihood that the fielder won't react quick enough (so maybe they dive a fraction late). It might decrease the number of dive attempts in general as fielders may not get in range/route to even consider a diving attempt.

Edit: One reason the poorer fielders might show more "effort" plays is because they don't get there in time to make it routine. I.e. they play it into a harder play than it really is. Then if you're getting too much "effort" play success, that might be a reason why it shows up more on weaker fielders.

I'm seeing them somewhere between yours and his/her experience. I might not see 2-3 per game (sometimes it happens, especially both teams combined), but I see them more frequently than you're getting them.

I wouldn't like either of OP's or your experience.

I haven't touched the sliders. I rarely see diving plays in a game. Though, I've made some pretty cool animation ones with Andrelton Simmons during DD games. I have more of an issue with outfielder arms, especially on throws to the plate. They are always right on the money for the comp when obviously real life, they are so bad.

The thing that bothers me the most is that a good percentage of these highlight catches the CPU makes are with guys that have 65 or lower fielding ability, while my 75-90 rated guys just miss making them.

I don't so much have a problem with this but I am getting sick and tired of being picked off by the CPU. There will be times where I'm not even taking an extra step on my lead and am getting picked off.

Strange. I haven't had it happen to me. The only times I get picked off are when I take a lead and it dosen't happen all the time or anything. Are you playing with sliders or are your sliders on default also?

Just had a poor play lead to a failed dive and a triple in my carryover.

My RF broke back on a hard sinking liner, realized his mistake and tried to charge. He ended up having to dive and the dive failed.

This was with Reaction at 1 and OF Fielding Errors at 5
