Armor & Swords Madden 17 Custom All-Pro Simulation Style Sliders
Armor & Sword's Madden 17 All-Pro Custom Simulation Style Sliders As always the core goals of the set will be: 1. Fun 2. Realistic stats 3. Great animations and every game feeling organic and unique 4. Dice roll results driven first and foremost by player ratings and a focus on team building via the draft and realistic XP development Some "House Rules" I use to enhance the Madden game playing experience: 1. I employ a strict "No Switch Rule" on offense and defense - I play a strict no user catch rule on Madden. Both offline and online (10 Yard Fight). Player ratings determine the outcome!!! On defense I utilize the defensive cam almost exclusively and also from time to time I will use the broadcast cam (because it looks so damn pretty!!). Playing from the defensive cam adds an incredible layer of realism, challenge and fun IMO. If you want a real challenge, play defense from this view. I am developing the sliders based on the exact settings I employ so it is niche type thing in that regard. Use the values as a base and adjust them to your skill level and playing style. I also never switch. This is another key component of how I develop my slider set. If I play as the MLB on a given play I stay as the MLB all the way through to the whistle is blown. What that does is put a focus on player ratings, player awareness and you depending on your teammates to make a play you are not involved in or away from. This also at times will strengthen the CPU and make it more of a challenge to play against them. I can tell you it is very hard playing defense this way and can lead to some ugly games if your defense is tired or having an off day. Timely sub packages like bringing in a fresh DL is a big feature of this set. If your defense has been on the field alot, pay attention to their fatigue levels and sub accordingly!! 2. Use your playbook - mix up your plays. Use the entire playbook. Don't go for it every time on 4th and 1 with a FB dive or QB sneak. In other words don't cheese the CPU. Keep it real. On offense I tend to use coach suggested and strategy suggested plays 90% of the time. On defense I call all my own plays. I also mix up my RB's and use formation subs to get other guys carries and keep things realistic. From time to time if my back is hacing a special day....so be it. But those are not often. Just like IRL. 3. When on defense I will user pick, swat and strip of course. I will use pass rush moves on the DL and with my OLB's. I will use my full arsenal and stick skills on the player I control without switching. 4. On offense I will control who ever has the ball. I will use moves, jukes etc. What I will not do however is take control of a potential receiver of the football. I do not user catch at all. I let the ratings determine the catch type always. Once the ball is caught I will take control of the ball carrier and do my thing. 5. I play with all visual aides turned off. The cleanest screen possible is what I employ for the best possible broadcast presentation and also challenge. This year we have tackle battles and they cannot be turned off. It is a QTE event and so it's not a big deal. The prompts are needed to employ this feature which from what I have seen looks like fun. Also gap assignments are previewed and can not be turned off as of release. Of course they could patch in the ability to turn them off (or not). That's basically it as far as approach and playing style. I truly look forward to providing a great base set of sliders at the "All-Pro" level for you to play with. Please use it as a starting point to tweak to your hearts content. Everyone has different skill levels and there is no "one size fits all" slider set. This season Madden has made a lot of under the hood improvements. Gap assignments, a much improved defensive AI for zone defenses. AI RB's now employ their full arsenal of jukes, spins, stiff arms and trucking. The game has gone to a new level and I am very excited to get going and providing the OS community with a great base set. Armor's CFM House Rules (with TDawgs XP Sliders and House rules!)

My channel link is in my signature here. This season I will be running a single team offline CFM with the Oakland Raiders and doing a single team offline fantasy franchise with my Miami Dolphins! I am not going with a 32 team approach this year. I am letting the chips fall where they may. Also the main reason for this is I want that franchise score ticker to be clean and work as intended. From what I understand (unless someone finds a way) in 32 team CFM even if you sim all the games before your teams game the ticker will read like this: Todem 28 Todem 14 That kills immersion for me. And IMO the score ticker is something I feel is very powerful in keeping your league feeling alive and real. Re: Armor & Swords Madden 17 Custom All-Pro Simulation Style Sliders
Here are the results from my Dolphins Fantasy Draft CFM. We have an excellent team IMO and should make a big run at the Super Bowl right out of the gate.
A huge L.A. Turf Wars Update is forth coming as we are rolling and currently sit at 8-1 and the best record in the NFL. The games have been ultra competitive but we are doing just enough pulling out some critical road wins en route to this great start. <html><head><meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8" /><link href="http://dynasties.operationsports.com/css/osdyn.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css"></head><body><table cellpadding="3" cellspacing="1" class="osdyn" width="575"><tr class="masthead_alt"><td bgcolor="#DF6108" colspan="5"><span style="color:#005E6A">Miami Dolphins Depth Chart - 2016</span></td></tr><tr class="stathead"><td align="center"colspan="5">Regular Offense</td></tr><tr class="stathead"><td width="8%"></td><td width="23%">STARTER</td><td width="23%">2ND</td><td width="23%">3RD</td><td width="23%">4TH</td></tr><tr class="oddrow"><td>WR</td><td>Donate Moncrief</td><td>Travis Benjamin</td><td>Phillip Doresett</td><td>Terrelle Pryor Sr</td></tr><tr class="evenrow"><td>TE</td><td>Austin Seferian - Jenkins</td><td>Tyler Higbee</td><td>Chase Ford</td><td></td></tr><tr class="oddrow"><td>LT</td><td>Anthony Castonzo</td><td>Ryan Harris</td><td></td><td></td></tr><tr class="evenrow"><td>LG</td><td>Kelechi Osemele</td><td>Ben Grubbs</td><td></td><td></td></tr><tr class="oddrow"><td>C</td><td>Mike Pouncey</td><td>Eric Wood</td><td></td><td></td></tr><tr class="evenrow"><td>RG</td><td>Zach Martin</td><td>Chris Chester</td><td></td><td></td></tr><tr class="oddrow"><td>RT</td><td>Lane Johnson</td><td>Martin Wallace</td><td></td><td></td></tr><tr class="evenrow"><td>WR</td><td>Travis Benjamin</td><td>Braxton Miller</td><td>Tajae Sharpe</td><td>Hakeem Grant</td></tr><tr class="oddrow"><td>QB</td><td>Cam Newton</td><td>Matt Moore</td><td>Ryan Nassib</td><td></td></tr><tr class="evenrow"><td>FB</td><td>Kyle Juszczyx</td><td>Collin Mooney</td><td></td><td></td></tr><tr class="oddrow"><td>HB</td><td>Todd Gurley II</td><td>Duke Johnson Jr</td><td>Charcandrick West</td><td>Kenyan Drake</td></tr><tr class="stathead"><td align="center"colspan="5">Base 4-3 Defense</td></tr><tr class="stathead"><td width="8%"></td><td width="23%">STARTER</td><td width="23%">2ND</td><td width="23%">3RD</td><td width="23%">4TH</td></tr><tr class="oddrow"><td>LDE</td><td>Troy Biermann</td><td>Terrence Fede</td><td></td><td></td></tr><tr class="evenrow"><td>LDT</td><td>Damon Harrison</td><td>Barry Cofield Jr</td><td></td><td></td></tr><tr class="oddrow"><td>RDT</td><td>Tony McDaniel</td><td>C.J. I play exactly like you Armor, I look forward to using your sliders again this year. Thanks for all your work and sharing these sliders.

Re: Armor & Swords Madden 17 Custom All-Pro Simulation Style Sliders
Can you player lock on defense or does that adversely affect gameplay? I agree with your logic but still have to work on the "no switch" self control without the lock

Re: Armor & Swords Madden 17 Custom All-Pro Simulation Style Sliders
Armor,
Very excited for this year's installment of Madden mostly due to the fact that CPU vs CPU has now be implemented back into Madden for franchise play. I will be using this style of playing moving forward with whichever team I choose to play. In the past 3 years, I have chosen to play as coach mode and I would use the CPU settings for offense and the HUMAN settings for defense to equal the same for both sides. That type of set up would give me what I was looking for so I stayed with that method. I have followed your Dolphins franchise during the past 2 years, as I am a lifelong fan. I have wrestled with choosing them for my CCM this year and I know all the ins and outs of being able to choose another team within 32 team control if I were to get bored, but like you, I don't want to jeopardize immersion. I see that you are running with the Raider Nation...excellent choice with tremendous tradition! What perhaps was your second choice? I am leaning towards the Browns as I would like to hopefully revitalize RGIII's career as well as heal a broken franchise. I am looking forward to your findings with the sliders that you create...thank you once again Armor as you truly are a legend! |

I wrestled between the Rams and The Jaguars. Both with young talent and on the rise. I think all 3 of these teams (Raiders, Jags, Rams) present a challenge and also a lot of potential fun in bringing back glory for a couple and bring glory to one that had a very small taste of it in the 90's. All have young promising QB's and a defense that can keep you in games. It should be a lot of fun! Looking forward to streaming tonight and chatting with a lot of you on the broadcasts. |
Re: Armor & Swords Madden 17 Custom All-Pro Simulation Style Sliders
This should work with Play The Moment as well, correct?
|
Re: Armor & Swords Madden 17 Custom All-Pro Simulation Style Sliders
Cant wait for these sliders to come out! Used them all year last year, tried other sets but as always (In my opinion) you always have the best sliders. I already started my franchise but will probably restart when these drop.
As a side note what are your feelings with the running back special moves? Have you put any thought into turning them onto auto rather than manual? If not do you think they would work on auto? (I am terrible at the sticks in this game lol) |
Re: Armor & Swords Madden 17 Custom All-Pro Simulation Style Sliders
Quote:
The only way it will be auto is if you just let the CPU control the RB after the hand off. I can't play that way. I must always control the ball carrier/WR (once the receiver catches the ball of course as I do not user catch) and use my sticks to get my YAC or get my rushing yards. It's the best part of playing console football for me. I know people who actually allow the CPU to control the RB...if that is a way you can be more effective in the running game (since it looks like AI decision making is far better and they do use the precision and stock moves) then give it a try. And yes these sliders will work just fine on "Play The Moment". |

Also remember I play with all visual aides off. So I use my own instincts and timing to chain together my jukes, spins, stiff arms etc. I just got a text from Amazon my game has arrived. I will be heading home a little early to get her loaded up, and I will be streaming tonight beginning around 9:30 EST. Please be patient. I will not post any slider settings till I am 100% comfortable we have a solid 1.0 set. Last season we really were able to lock into our set within a few weeks. And the 1.0 was out within 48-72 hours from the official street release date. |
Re: Armor & Swords Madden 17 Custom All-Pro Simulation Style Sliders
hey Armr I was wondering what roster set you were using this yr?

Even with that off, it does flash a split-second button prompt when the CPU does a move. Hopefully they can patch that out or something. |

:( I love a clean screen. I hope they reconsider that in a patch. If not oh well. I will be running with manual for sure. I want no assistance in the running game. |

Re: Armor & Swords Madden 17 Custom All-Pro Simulation Style Sliders
Hey Armor. If it makes any difference to you I plugged in your '16 sliders into '17 and it played VERY well. The Injury slider seems to be more touchy this year though so I would turn that down from 65, and the Auto-Subs/Fatigue will need tweaking, but the actual gameplay was outstanding IMO.

Shaunhill, I see that your doing the same thing as you've done in the past in most threads, you go from one to the next and then you create a thread that is completely misleading with no findings of your own. I'm not trying to be a pain, but I'm pointing out this obvious, plus Armor hasn't even released his yet. Once they're out...try them. If they don't work, adjust and go from there. |
Re: Armor & Swords Madden 17 Custom All-Pro Simulation Style Sliders
So wow guys. Madden 17 is simply a great sports game!!
Played 3 full fun-filled offline CFM games.....bad teams are bad, elite teams are elite. Near default All-Pro out of he box is tight. I have made some really great adjustments for tackling (as usual) QB Accuracy, pass catching and interceptions and CPU run blocking. Also looks like I am super close to getting a perfect balance of penalties. But not much imo at this point (much like Madden 16) needs any sort of radical slider adjustments. The initial set (guys it's coming soon...sooner than I thought but sit tight I am working hard on it) is coming along really well and that is a testament to the developers on this team at Tiburon. The game on AP default is tuned really well out of the box and IMO only needs some TLC in certain area's to really bring out the simulation love of a ratings based/dice role approach to the game. I am still working on catching. I love the drops, but imo in the NFL they are not excessive. I cranked up catching in my testing and I am still getting realistic drops but not too many from elite pass catchers. They still dropped some passes but not at a high clip as it should be. Lower rated players will still drop at a higher rate. Still testing this slider though The catching slider and QB accuracy slider are going to compliment each other. My last game last night was my best one. a 25-23 loss. Packers at Vikings. Great great game. Back and forth, hit some huge plays to Jordy and Cobb and Lacy went down with a torn shoulder (out 4 weeks). He was running strong but when he went down my gameplay had to change and I went on an air raid with Rodgers. We had a huge crowd on the stream and those that hung out with me were treated to a great game of Madden. I appreciate the viewers as it makes testing that much more exciting, as it can get long and hard. But having other eyes watching the game play out and giving thoughts helps me develop them even faster. Back to the game though..... ADP sealed it with some stout power running when they needed it and they ended up kneeling it down at my 5 Also I am really focusing on the fatigue slider more than anything. Trying my damnest to find a sweet spot for RB auto subs. The rest of them seem ok.....but to be frank with the CFM formations subs screen now you can set your own rotations on both sides of the ball, pre game and really get that RB rotation you want. It's the CPU teams that are the issue. I had the disappearing RB's happen to me withy own team. Lamar Miller left after 16 carries and some long pass receptions......so the auto sub setting went back to default 50/49 for RB's till I figure out a realistic fatigue (it's tuned different this year and this is a key area all of us as slider makers need to hone in and collaborate on) setting coupled with a RB auto sub setting that does not have the disappearing act. Also the in game defensive formation subs (sub DL) can get fresh legs out there on the flick of stick. I wish they worked properly...and they claim they do...we just need to crack the code on it here and that will be a big focus and an ongoing thing. I will be streaming again this afternoon and late into the evening once again. So please come out and let's have some fun talking Madden, football, sports games or whatever as we get this slider set firmly set here. Hang tight Madden Freaks. Version 1.0 is right around the corner. I want to release a set that will need little to no tweaking and I feel we are really really close. |
