So I am asking you all this - for your favorite team, please rate the players for speed and acceleration. This can either be actual number ratings or just mention the fastest and slowest players on your team. Every little bit helps. Thanks!

Speed/Acceleration Ratings for Your Favorite Team
Hey everyone. As mentioned in a different thread, it is rather difficult to determine who the fastest and slowest skaters are on each team. Not every scouting report mentions a player's speed. And I have watched an insane amount of hockey - especially since I really got into roster editing a few years ago.

Re: Speed/Acceleration Ratings for Your Favorite Team
How does one access your rosters when you're done? Is it incredibly hard?
As for the Blues, Magnus Paajarvi is actually our fastest skater even though he sucks and I'd say Kyle Brodziak is probably the slowest.Comment

Re: Speed/Acceleration Ratings for Your Favorite Team
As of now there is no way to actually share my roster. So I am putting together a Google Sheet that everyone can access and plug in my ratings on his/her own. It sucks, but this is all we've got.
I'm starting with the LITE version of the rosters which is re-ratings based on EA's ratings scale. Then, barring that there is still interest, I will do a FULL revamped version which gives more player separation.NHL REVAMPED ROSTERS - CO-CREATORComment

Re: Speed/Acceleration Ratings for Your Favorite Team
For Detroit, Larkin and Athanasiou are the fastest, and to my knowledge two of the fastest in the entire league (Larkin won the speed competition at All-Star weekend if I remember correctly, and I think Athanasiou is even faster). Slowest is definitely Ericsson, that dude looks like he's skating in molasses."To whom much is given, much is expected" - John F. KennedyComment

I don't think he's faster than Fabbri.

Re: Speed/Acceleration Ratings for Your Favorite Team
For Montreal, Byron is definitely the fastest and one of the fastest in the league, as demonstrated by all his breakaways. Unfortunately, he doesn't have the hands to finsh three quarters of the times. Pacioretty is also a fast skater with big strides. Galchenyuk, Plekanek, Beaulieu, Petry are all pretty good skaters too.
As for the slowest skater, Markov isn't really fast, he definitely lost a step in the last couple of seasons, multiple knee injuries he suffered didn't help him in that area either. Probably that Weber will go in that category too.Comment

Bruins- I'd say Krug, Colin Miller, Marchand, and Pasta.Comment

Re: Speed/Acceleration Ratings for Your Favorite Team
Miller has the fastest straight ahead speed, pasta and Krug are the best skaters and Marchand is probably the fourth out of this group.Comment

Re: Speed/Acceleration Ratings for Your Favorite Team
I'd say for the Canes Jeff Skinner is the best and fastest all around skater. His figure skating background really helps him there. Fast, agile, balanced. Noah Hanifin is also a fantastic skater and his agility is really evident as well. Jordan Staal I'd put up near the top of the list as well although his speed is like a touch below Skinner.
As for the slower Hurricanes players I'd put Ron Hainsey in that list. Jay McClement could also go on that list.
I'll just make a quick list of what I feel are the best (fastest) skaters top to bottom:
Jeff Skinner
Noah Hanifin
Jordan Staal
Justin Faulk
Victor Rask
Joakim Nordstrom
Elias Lindholm
Andrej Nestrasil
Phil DiGiuseppe
Jaccob Slavin
Brett Pesce
Ron Hainsey
Jay McClement
Bryan Bickell
I kinda color coded it going from hot to cold haha. So like the more red the name the faster the skater basically. The names in the darker blue kinda hover a little below the top names and the lighter blue names are even slower than them.
Also there will be some new faces coming in this year that I cannot comment on just yet though since I haven't seen them play enough and those guys are Lee Stempniak (played with New Jersey and Boston last year), Viktor Stalberg (New York Rangers last year), Teuvo Tervainen (Chicago Blackhawks last year), Bryan Bickell (Hawks, but I'd imagine he's a slower skater), and Sebastian Aho (expected to make his NHL debut this October. Will get a better picture of him playing in World Cup of Hockey for Finland).Comment

Re: Speed/Acceleration Ratings for Your Favorite Team
Just my eyes, I rated them with Speed/Acceleration and Balance/Agility (combined) to emphasize the type of skater they are. Like Eaves is a speeding bullet, but apparently didn't learn to turn. Benn is sneaky silky smooth skater that can't get knocked off the puck.
One note for Klingberg, his Balance should be a bit lower (he can get knocked off) but his agility should be like a 98 or something. He has done some crazy stuff with his skating and changing direction. You got to get a body on him. Johns is the opposite, not high on agility, but have fun colliding into him. Whereas a guy like Faksa is just a well rounded and balanced skater.
Also put in some of our depth guys that may be starting (Ritchie, McKenzie, Honka, Lindell, Dickinson)
