Roughing the passer

I am playing Madden as I type this...I just got a roughing the passer call on a sack because I hit him low....pretty cool, although the announcers said it was because of a late hit. 1st time I have ever seen this call made in Madden or any football game. I wonder if any one else has seen this call.

2 times for me now on very low "diving into the QB's legs" sacks.

It's freaking great. And maddening at the same time!! LOL!!! Great touch from EA to add to the realism this year.

Only Happened to me once so far but I though it was great and very realistic since I did go low...Really impressed that's in the game. They just need to update the commentary on it.

No when you go low on a sack. Not a late hit. The Game will call low sacks as roughing the passer.

That should be more of a Ben Roethlisberger rule then because of the ACL injuries he's had from players going for his knees.

The rule was introduced after Brady's injury, hence the name.

Sorry, he had an MCL injury not ACL. But yea in 2005 he had a Knee Hyperextension injury which was minor, but that was the one that reminded me of defensive players going low on sacks. I still remember that day when Castillo's helmet hit his knee. Ugh.

But yea, back on topic.

I got called for roughing after sacking the QB last night. Made no sense.

I just got called for it. I dove for Eli but he was still backing up and was just far enough that i missed but he came forward a little and my momentum hit his legs and instead of 4th and forever, its 1st and 10. I was pissed! but I like the realism.
