FIFA 17 Demo Scheduled to Arrive on September 13

    FYI

Confirmed in an interview with producer Gareth Reeder.

While Konami has already released a playable demo for PES 2017, EA has not yet revealed when FIFA 17's demo will be available, or at least, now formally. Gamereactor recently spoke with Garreth Reeder, FIFA 17's Lead Producer, who told us the demo will be coming out on September 13. No more details were offered, but we would bet on PC, PS4, and Xbox One for the platforms (the PES 2017 demo skipped PC).

As for content, we can only guess, but here's the content on Gamescom's demo:

    Teams:
Real Madrid, Manchester United, Chelsea, Olympique Lyonnais, Paris Saint-Germain, Seattle Sounders, Tigres UANL, FC Bayern Monaco, Gamba Osaka, Inter, Juventus

    Stadiums:
Stamford Bridge, Suita City Football Stadium, Centuitylink Field

FIFA 17 will be coming to several platforms on September 29 for various platforms. In the meantime, you can check the full interview with Gareth Reeder below.

I really hope half-length is a little bit longer than in years past

In Europe PES is on sell only on 15th September, so that's two days for us to give a proper try to fifa 17 demo before rushing on PES.

PES has definitively sets the standards very high this year. And as I have understood the gameplay in the released game is identical to the demo which is, I am afraid, million miles away to be the case with fifa (ie: fifa 16).

I was sure hoping for September 6th, but I had a feeling it would end up being September 13th. I'm pretty torn on the two soccer games this year, so I'm definitely going to have to give the FIFA demo a few days before making a decision on PES....or at least that's the plan. When the 13th rolls around, it'll be tough to pass on PES regardless because of how fun it is. This might be a "buy both" kind of year, haha.

I don't think that was on purpose. EA usually releases there demo 2 weeks before release. I think it just happened to work out that way.

I am just saying typically that is when they release the demo but maybe I am wrong.

They really should make it longer, but at this point they could skip the demo altogether and sell just as many copies of the game. And they are well aware of this. They just want to be able to say that a bazillion people downloaded the demo, like last year.

Yeah purely coincidental, I don't think a guy in a suit twirling his mustache is saying "Lets ruin Konami's sales by releasing a 8 minute demo with 12 teams the same day they release their game, bwahahaha!"

Does it matter? The FIFA 16 demo and the game after several updates played nothing alike.

It's strange, but this is probably the first time in about 5 years where FIFA is gonna have to be the demo that really wins me over, not PES.

I'm sick of EA and their constant updates that radically change the game and essentially make you have to re-analyse your entire settings. Like buckeyezombie said perfectly above, there's almost no point playing the demo anyway as it won't be even remotely representative of what the game will be like as early as Christmas.

There's also just been far too few changes to Career Mode since the Global Scouting Network was first introduced in FIFA 14. It looks like FIFA 17 is going to be the 4th game in a row where that mode is essentially the same.

Even if PES ends up not quite being perfect, I'm more inclined to buy that this year just so that it feels like I'm actually buying a new game, and not just a slight roster update.

                              Totally agree.

Just saw the 2k press conference in Madrid and they still announce new features for NBA. If you think that their game has had much deeper and better game modes than FIFA and now I see that they worked on all of them, improved them even more and even changed gameplay quite a lot I'm really wondering what the EA developers are doing.

Except the engine change I dont see much they've worked on. Seems like what they're doing in a year is accomplished by other developers within a month.
