    Get past "Player Style"

    Just wanted to say this:

    Look past "Player Style"

Look at individual ratings, including goalies. There are a ton of individual goalie animations this year based on real life stances. Just because a goalie is listed as "Hybrid" doesn't mean anything unless you are playing EASHL - the ratings are what matter.

Same thing with skaters - Alex Ovechkin has been listed as a sniper for years but has the ratings of a Power Forward/Sniper mix, and plays like it. His Sniper designation doesn't mean anything.

Just food for thought while we wait for the game to come out.

I agree we should look at the ratings but IMO, the ratings don't matter enough. You can still do things with 4th liners that would never happen in an actual game. Not sure about this year because I haven't played it yet but that was the case in years past.

Yep. Style doesn't have an effect on the offline modes at all—while it may be annoying (I know for me it is haha) to see the styles grouped closely for goalies, the ratings are much more important and actually have an effect on the gameplay, which is certainly the most important thing. Now, if only we knew what some of the more obscure ones did...

Not sure I agree with this. When the game is played on very high difficulties and with proper slider adjustments 4th liners indeed play more poorly than superstars.
