PES 2017 impressions
Here is a twitch feed of the retail game. It's not me. Found it looking around twitch.

Videos are good to see animations and stuff like that, but unless you have the controller in your hand there's no way to tell how it'll "feel". |

Re: PES 2017 impressions
Just played my first game with Peru. I set the difficulty to Top Player, forgot to slow down the game speed so it was at 0, and played Argentina.
Game was fun, but not very realistic in the sense of how it ended. I won, 4-1, and it was 4-0 until a late volley from Messi. I finished with 54 percent possession to Argentina's 46, I had 84% pass completion to Argentina's 80, and I had 20 shots (9 on target) compared to 4 (3). What can I do to make it tougher? Just bump up the difficulty? |

I committed nine fouls and earned six yellows (I kept sliding thinking I could get away with PES2016 murder) and Argentina committed five fouls and earned three yellows. I played a 15-min game. |
Re: PES 2017 impressions
One question I have for those who might know: Why did they switch the form arrow colors? It confuses me now to see a red slightly down arrow. The way they had it before worked for me.
Any ideas? |

Re: PES 2017 impressions
Second game played on Superstar. I again used Peru and faced Brazil in the Maracana. I won 2-0.
Possession #s: Peru 55, Brazil 45 Shots: Peru 8, Brazil 9 Shots on Target: Peru 4, Brazil 7 Fouls: Peru 7, Brazil 1 Yellow Cards: Peru 5 (one double yellow leading to a red), Brazil 0 |
Re: PES 2017 impressions
And my first loss. Using Peru, I took a 5-2 loss to Chile. Wasn't even close. Alexis Sanchez dominated his flank and scored twice. Vidal also scored a SCORCHER that I might just have to upload onto here. Left my jaw on the floor.
Possession #s: Peru 49, Chile 51 Shots: Peru 14, Chile 17 Shots on Target: Peru 5, Chile 8 Fouls: Peru 4, Chile 5 Yellow Cards: Peru 2, Chile 0 Don't know if it was the rain or what, but this game felt really fast. Going to knock game speed down to -1 for the next one. |

Re: PES 2017 impressions
Any info on what teams are in the other section? The area with the extra champions league or europa teams.
Konami did not have that team section listed on their site. Usually zenit, club brugge, the german sides, etc are in this area |

For those that asked in the other threads, there is a fake Libertadores. |
Re: PES 2017 impressions
In regards to edit mode and option files, I don't see any way of importing the edit file. So we still would have to name all the competitions /cups ourselves and assign the appropriate logos.
Gameplay has been great so far. Fouls are definitely being called. Some obvious fouls have been missed but then some questionable soft fouls have been called. I like that randomness to it. Keepers are better as well. I can't really compare much to last year since I gave up on it very quickly last year and stuck with FIFA. |

Can't tell if the teams play like in real life because I'm playing the Asian champions league and I'm not familiar with the clubs. I can say that the teams have played differently in each game though. |
Re: PES 2017 impressions
I don't know what it is, but something's not right for me. The game is lots of fun, but I can't find the good, sim-like balance that I'm looking for.
I just played my fourth game as Peru vs. Uruguay, on -1 speed and superstar difficulty. I won, 1-0. Possession: Peru 66, Uruguay 34 Shots: Peru 13, Uruguay 8 Shots on Target: Peru 7, Uruguay 5 Fouls: Peru 1, Uruguay 1 Pass completed: Peru 84 percent, Uruguay 67 percent I might have to knock down the pass accuracy to -1, as some have suggested, but something else I've found is that the CBs and defenders in general seem to win a lot of their tackles in their defensive third, killing the danger of the attacking team. Like last year, if you mistimed a tackle, you'd be punished with a goal. Not seeing that anywhere nearly as much this year. At least not yet. |
Re: PES 2017 impressions
playing on professional so far while I get more used to it. I've had a wide range of scores which I like. 1-1, 2-1, 3-3, 4-0, 1-0. Still seeing decent number of fouls. I think that's legit now.....fouls are called consistently. Another little positive I've noticed is that the players don't get dazed and freeze for like 1-2 seconds after simple tackles like before. It's been drastically cut down and more realistic.

U neee to knock down pass assist to 0, above it it's just too easy, at least thats how infelt in the demo. Looks like u're using pass assist 2, could be why. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Re: PES 2017 impressions
Okay, so I switched teams to get a different feel. I used Real Madrid and played Liverpool.
I won 7-1. Four goals from Ronaldo, and four in the game from him and other players were headers. Liverpool had nine shots and four on target, and they committed three fouls. |

Afterwards, play as Man Utd against Inter. I lost, 4-1, and finished with a 65 percent pass completed. Eek. |
Re: PES 2017 impressions
Just played with Peru vs. Ecuador, and gave up a last-second goal to lose 1-0.
Ecuador's pass completion was 67 and mine was 63. |

Re: PES 2017 impressions
Is there a real team of players with a fake name and kit that is Bayern?
Man U is in the prem with a fake kit and Juve is in serie A with a fake kit. Just not sure how they handled Bayern. |

Re: PES 2017 impressions
In some miracle, my copy just arrived. I live in the sticks, so typically I get my games days after release, but Best Buy and USPS came thru for once. Now to suffer thru work till I can play it....

Re: PES 2017 impressions
Amazing. I ordered from BB too and nothing yet. Mail came already. Opened the mailbox slowly hoping for the "best" but nothing but junk mail.
Checking my online order it still says preparing your item for shipping |
Re: PES 2017 impressions
Glad to see a bunch of you getting it a day early for impressions. I am getting it tomorrow on PS4, and loved the demo. I didn't change any of the settings in the game, but what settings MUST be changed to have the most sim feel to the game? Im going to be playing on top player for a while before moving up to Superstar. -1 game speed and manual passing is the way to go?

Re: PES 2017 impressions
I got one game in on my lunch break. Never thought I would say a soccer game was playing too slow, but on -2 it seems to be. Perhaps default or -1 is the way to go. Did they remove CPU vs CPU as I was hoping to watch games while working, but see no option for it?

Re: PES 2017 impressions
Got 3 full games in 15 min halves. I used to think all PES games were too fast, but they nailed the speed this year. Fouls are much better than I expected. Still wish we had a few more calls and a bit more physicality, but it is nowhere near as bad as last years game. If you liked the demo, you will like the release version as nothing has changed. Only issues I see at this point are the goalie saves or parry that fall directly to someone for an easy put back. Besides that, I have no issues with the goalies this year or the rest of the back line defense as it seems very solid. I love the corner kick strategies you can select between on off or def during kicks. :o:
My fear now falls to the reviews as I think they did a 180 on this years game compared to last years version, but it got such good reviews last year even though I thought it was a mess. Not sure if scores will be that good for this one, but they should be high in my book. I hope they continue on this development path as this is the best game I have played since the 2012 version easily. |
