For the future only things I would like to see/change/add...

-Punish frequent quitters.
-'Nerf' timeouts, kind of like how they are in ProAm
-Have basic stats, or just even a W/L record tied to user

Other than that, I love this mode.

It's difficult to score whenever your opponent quits and you have to play the CPU. Allowing us to switch to another position during the game to a user opponent may help. Letting players jump in during games can help too but it can get complicated at that point.

Old thread but I want to talk about it anyway. Things this mode needs to improve it in future installments:

More Stars
Firstly this mode needs more players to select. Don't understand how they have Ben Wallace and Chauncey available but you can't use Rip Hamilton. Paul Pierce and KG but no 08 Ray Allen yet they have 2013 Ray backing up Dwade off the bench. There's tons of good players on current and classic teams that should be a part of this. Joe Dumars and Rodman from the Bad Boys Pistons to name 2 more.

Unlockables:
Any player acquired in My Team should automatically be unlocked to appear in All star team up as well as the free agent selection roster so people can bring them over to any roster to use in My league, exhibition games, blacktop and whatever else.

Also there should be be retro versions of current players who were bigger stars a couple of years ago. I'm talking MVP Derrick Rose, Superman Dwight Howard with the Orlando Magic, Joe Johnson and Josh Smith in Atlanta Hawks Jerseys, Deron Williams with the Utah Jazz and Ron Artest with the Sacramento Kings.

VC point sells would easily go up even higher if 2k were to make a menu where you purchase these players to use for All Star team up as well as the other modes as I mentioned previously. You shouldn't need the full classic team for these players to appear in the game.

Limit Timeouts
It should be disabled completely for the rest of a quarter if somebody calls it 3 times in a row.

Kicking teammates from the game
Anyone who's playing selfishly and poorly who reaches the D+ rating should be open to be kicked from the game with a full team vote. Meaning everyone of the players on your team has to vote you out to reach 1. This way the player is alerted that they've received a kick vote and they're giving a C+ again to do better. 3 full team votes in a row results in that chemistry killer being kicked from the game.

Jersey Selection
When you select a player you should have plenty of time to scroll through and select 1 of 3 or 4 jersey selections. Including a generic all star jersey that the whole team can wear to match if they so choose to do so. Just annoys me that the game automatically puts the wrong jersey on certain players like Magic and Kareem for example during home games getting the white alternative jersey that didn't even exist until 2004 if I remember correctly.

More than just East vs West
Why not give people the option to mix it up like East vs East, West vs West and mix both sides together for even more fun. I want to do Jordan vs Lebron. Have the option to put Bird and Magic on the same team if I want to. Team Lebron up with Curry and all sorts of other possibilities.

It's not the most popular mode in the game but I like it and I'd hope that it would get some improvements like these.

Fix team up period, I haven't been able to play it for months now. It will be looking looking for players then as soon as it gets the required amount it crashes.

This was one of my favorite features in 2K but the past 2yrs it has been terrible.

I am unable to play it at all since one of the patches released months ago.

In the same breath as a few of these, I'd love to see a return to the old days of team up when you could select teams as well. As much fun as it is selecting Kareem to go up against 1998 Shaq, sometimes I like the idea of just being a team and going against another team. People are more apt to play their roles and you get less of the wild, crazy games that you would with All-Stars. Sure, I think there's people that would like to do the latter more than the former but I think there should at least be a chance or option to do both. I can't be the only person that longs for the day of more competitive real team vs. real team team up?

W/L Record, Basic Stat Tracking, Quit/Drop Percentage, and an Average Teammate Grade per Game rating that actually worked would be a nice start. After that, some kind of scouting report on your matchup while the game is loading would be cool.

I too would like to see some kind of return of real teams. Or at the very least, I'd like for there to be some sort of incentive to not pick Jordan, LeBron, Curry, etc all the time. There could be a "randomizer" option when picking your player so you don't know what player you're going to have until the game starts loading, and maybe you earn some extra VC if you let the game pick the player for you. This could help change things up a bit and keep people from picking the same players over and over. Also, maybe if everyone on your team picks the "randomizer" then the game picks a real or historic team for your 5 to run with. That might be a good way to allow people to pick who they want, but also include the ability to play with real teams without making separate modes and splitting the player base.

One more thing, could we get a few less Michael Jordan versions for Eastern Conference SG so we could add a few more options? Rip Hamilton and Ray Allen are two guys I can think of off the top of my head that I'd rather have the opportunity to play with over a 5th version of Jordan.

I don't find that to be true. I've bloodied Curry's nose with Reggie Jackson before. Now, if you're playing someone with similar/equal/better stick skills than you, then yes, they'll have an advantage over you if they pick a much higher overall player. But I've played plenty of people that think they can do whatever they want against me because Curry is rated 15 OVR higher than my guy, but at the end of the day, I outplayed them and got the W.

People are more apt to play their roles and you get less of the wild, crazy games that you would with All-Stars. Sure, I think there's people that would like to do the latter more than the former but I think there should at least be a chance or option to do both. I can't be the only person that longs for the day of more competitive real team vs. real team team up?

You could do this in 2k17. You gotta set it up with friends in your locker room.
