Opinions will vary greatly so I would suggest renting it to see if you think its so much better than last year.My personal opinion is that it has a lot of potential with a good patch but had just as much fun with '16 using good sliders and an enjoyable franchise going.
I think its a little give and take as usual.The smart thing at this point may be to keep going with '16 and buy '17 on black Friday if you want to pay half price.Comment

If you're a casual player, I'd wait.. Lots of new "features" this year but still lots of little things/quirks that are annoying. Not really worth a $60 purchase if you're not going to play it extensively.Comment

This is a hard question to answer. Madden 16 was the first good madden in like 10 years and the jump from madden 15 to 16 was like the biggest jump in sports video game history for a 1 year jump. I was going to skip madden 17 if not for the trade in and games thing that best buy does. Madden 17 like most sports games is a slight improvement over the past years. Being able to block kicks is good but I think it may be a little to hard to block kicks. In like 20 games I have only blocked 1 kick. Commentary is much better and animations looks much better. With that said line play is still a joke as it is still impossible to get a realistic pass rush. On default CPU gets like 10 seconds to make a pass like 98% of the time. If you turn the pass blocking down you can then get some pressure and some sacks but even then it is all or nothing. Either CPU gets a year to make a pass or no one blocks at all and you can get to the CPU in .1 seconds.Comment

I found from like madden 07-15 ever year there was at least 1 game killer problem. 15 it was that the CPU would take 12 sacks a game because they just wouldn't pass the ball away. I think 08 it was that there where like 100 fumbles a game. I don't remember what it was but I know there was a game killing problem in madden 12 as while. I kept getting madden for years and years other then madden 25 but really madden 08,09,10,11,12,13,15 where just a waste of money and I couldn't play them for more then like 2 months because of there big problems. I never really understand this question. For the most part, the game improves little by little each year. So if you are willing to go ahead and step up to the improvements then yes, you should buy it. If you prefer larger changes between editions, then wait an edition or two or three before upgrading. It's very uncommon for the game to not be better than the last edition, however small the improvement may be.Comment
