Dont know what else to tinker with

Every few games my cpu teammates turn into zombies and are literally useless. My players skate 2x slower than they should be, my cpu teammates stand around and make no attempts to play the puck even at point blank in front of the net they just stand around. They wont move when I have the puck they stand around or stare off into the stands. On top of all this the cpu opponent completes 97 % of their passes, make 40 % of their shots and they magically set themselves up for one timers.

I can tell from the beginning if my players have the zombie syndrome, then it becomes unplayable and I just simulate it. The next game usually they return to normal but this seems to happen when I go on a long winning streak my players just suddenly turn into zombies.

Ive tried everything and tinkered with all sorts of sliders. I played all star competitive and sim, but every time I think I solved the problem it comes up again soon. Traditional seems to be the only one where every game plays naturally but its just way too easy and fast in a cheesy type of way. Ive tried tinkering with player fatigues and seeing if that works but I have no clue how to solve this issue.

This has occurrd every year in NHL games btw but this year its just totally off the charts and frustrating when in franchise mode the computer already pre determines to do a space jam like thing on my players and take their talents away

This isn't going to help your cause in any way, but I have noticed the exact same thing. As soon as the puck drops, there is a different "feel" to the game where the CPU dominates and my CPU teammates are helpess. Unfortunately, I don't have any answers. What I tell myself in my head is that just like in real life, my Rangers get dominated and play like absolute sh*t in every aspect of the game and that happens because it's hockey. Whether they are fatigued from traveling or whatever the reason may be, it happens. I sort of narrate this scenario in my head in my franchise because I literally have no idea why it happens but it keeps me on my toes. I end up playing way more defensively and just try to contain the CPU and play good positional hockey and take opportunities when they present themselves.

I tried changing the fatigue sliders again and its been okay so far. On traditional style the fatigue effect is 33 for both and recovery is at 83 for both. That seems to do the trick for the zombie cpu teammates thing, I havent noticed any problems yet but ive only played a few games so far.

I also bumped the difficulty up to superstar, I think when the style goes to custom the game gets easier or something. So far its been challenging and realistic without any outside influence on my teammates.

If you want to try it put the game style to 3/4 competitive, change fatigue effect to 33 and recovery to 83, leave all other sliders the same, although I turned cpu teammate penalties to 0.

Interesting findings. I've upped the difficulty to Superstar before and I got smoked so I'll probably just live with what I have. I'm semi comfortable with where I'm at now.

Fatigue recovery sliders is key here.
If that slider is anywhere above 50, the CPU will have a huge boost on you. I tested this out by only changing that one slider. They go in hyper mode when that slider gets above 50

I'm not sure how to really help you because I don't have that problem. I have the opposite problem. But maybe I an help you figure out something.

I have my game style on full sim. I have my aggressiveness turned down to 40. It helps with the puck chasing and it gives you a little more neutral zone pressure. I also have fatigue effect at 90 and fatigue recovery at 80. I dump and chase a lot and change lines a lot. I have my puck control at 15, shot accuracy at 25 and my goalie sliders pretty high. I usually get scores in the 3-2 range. I usually change lines in 45 second intervals. It also helps to get a fresh, fast winger against a slow, tired defenseman.

Another bit of advice I can give you is this: Don't chase. It's probably the hardest thing to do in this series, but this year the AI is decent. If the AI is in position, it will make the play. The bad thing about the AI is that it knows to play in one spot. If you Right Wing goes to cover for Right Defense, Right Defense will also cover Right Defense and it will be a mess.

Also, worry more about having fun than being "realistic" or "easy". It's your game, play it how you want.

Also turn strategy adjustments all down to 0 helps with the unstoppable comebacks, I play bap goalie so I know 1st hand how big a difference it makes

Seen this happen in Be A Pro on multiple occasions and it is so annoying. One time the puck got chipped right in front of my teammate and he stood there and stated off into the distance like an idiot. Eventually I had to go over to him and pick the puck up for him. So annoying.
