Any running tips outside of \"great natural ability\"?

I'm struggling to run consistently. Any tips?

Against the computer or human opponent?

I find that counter plays work very well.

I was struggling a bit as well, being that Im a NFL2Kx newcomer, but a couple of tips that will get you running the ball better:

1) NEVER speed burst on runs up the middle, unless you have a WIDE OPEN hole. i find its better to charge yor back so that when he breaks thru the line (hopefully) you can try to use a special move on the first defender you come in contact with.

2) make sure you run the play how its meant to be unless you ABSOLUTELY have to take a detour. Sometimes it may seem like the play is stuffed, but if you follow your lead blockers, alot of times the hole will open at the last possible moment, and then you can hit it the charged up move of your choice.

Just by sticking to those two basic rules you should have your ypc in the 4.0 range. Hopefully, some of the more advanced 2k players can give some more in-depth advice, as thats all i've gathered from playing the last couple of days. One thing I can safely say is that its hard for me to always hit the right move at the right time. I will look at a replay and think "man if I woulda only used stiff arm instead of spin, i could broke that one"

Thanks Future, that's basically what I do, except sometimes I'll forego the charge up button as well, since that will slow you down. The chargeup is not as effective as in years' past and that's a good thing.

OH MAN! it helps to look at replays(plus it it looks cool as ) , but that is too funny! - It's like how you can always think of a slick comeback to yell at the guy who cut u off in traffic- that night while your thinking about it...
Just makes the great runs more rewarding and the replays when you actually did the best moves possible they look so smoooth

I guess playing against TENN got me ready for the Chargers. Jamal Lewis rushed for 123 YDS on 22 carries and 2 TD's in a 28-10 win. What a sorry defense. I was using the charge up more and that had something to do with it. Is anybody having any luck with the Right Stick jukes?

Another tip: Don't speed burst right away. Follow your blocker to the hole, and then burst through it.
