CFM - Simmed scores too high, unrealistic stats...anyone else?

    Hey guys,

I posted this in another thread but wanted to see if others are struggling with this and if there are mitigating factors that can be applied to level set. I am finding the simmed results and the accompanying statistics to be very unrealistic and arcade-like.

For example, I am playing with the Titans and just completed week 17 in year #1 of my cfm (I am the only user in my cfm) and am currently averaging 26.5 PPG (which IMO is high but not too unreasonable). What irks me though is the fact that this is good for 24th in the league, as almost half of the teams in my franchise are averaging north of 30 ppg. As a point of reference, the 26.5 PPG would rank #4 overall if comparing to actual 2015 NFL results. Only two real NFL teams averaged over 30 PPG last year, and I believe only 1 (Atlanta) is surpassing that mark this year.

I also am seeing some crazy pass statistics across all teams. As a team, I am averaging ~247 passing yards/game, which ranks 26th in the league (would be 18th in this years’ NFL). 7 teams average over 300 passing yards per game, compared to 1 in the actual 2015 NFL season (2 so far in 2016). Just really skewed, in my humble opinion. This all came to a head when playing the Texans in week 17. I had noticed Osweiler went down for the year in week 13, leaving signal calling duties to the one and only Tom Savage. In his past three games Savage has posted passing yardage of 328, 343, and 424!! All done with a completion percentage of about 65%-70% and WITHOUT DeAndre Hopkins who is on IR with a torn ACL. This just completely ruined the franchise I am currently in and am wondering if there is even a fix for this…..

Is this a common issue? Is there anything I can do to help steer simmed games to reflect more accurate numbers/results? I have heard sliders do not have an impact, does the quarter length? Now as a disclaimer I am using EA’s updated roster set from either 3 of 4 weeks ago, and maybe using a different roster set will help?

Any insight that could be provided would be most helpful. Maybe this is an isolated thing, or maybe I tweaked something that I shouldn’t have, but seeing consistent scores like 42-21 & 38-17 really leave a bad taste in my mouth when trying hard to replicate reality – or at least get in the ballpark.

i have the same problem which is how i found your post brock osweiler throwing 400 yards and 4 touchdowns a game when his rating is 75 ****s crazy and il check the stats for games example lions & texans score was 49-7 matt stafford 340 2 TDs riddick 2 TDs thats only 28 points and then for some reason the backup qb came in to throw a 1 yard TD thats now 35 with 3 field goals thats 44 no defensive scores no kick return where did the other 5 points come from no stats on it

I hate how often it sims ties. It doesn't bug me as much now that there's been 2 ties in the NFL this year, but I'll see teams finish 8-6-2 and it bugs the hell out of me because ties don't happen as often as it sims them to happen. Granted games are closer than they've ever been so maybe that's where it's coming from but I don't like that about simming games.

The AI sims full 15 minute quarters doesn't it? So if you're playing less than that your O stats will tend to be lower than they should be in comparison and your D higher. I play 8 minute quarters so effectively my team only play half the gametime that the other AI teams do.

Obviously that isn't to say that the AI doesn't get better results simming games than would happen in real life. You see it when playing 'Play The Moment' - where there seems to be more medium length gains (5-15 yards) than happens IRL.
