Looks like it's happening more often.

There's a gif on reddit where the ball is on the rim and it's about to roll only to get stopped by some invisible wall and roll back out. I can't find it at the moment but got me thinking about that come back code that's been mentioned through the years.

I've noticed this so much this year it's not even funny. I noticed it last year too but significantly less. However, I have yet to see something to the extent of this happening in 2K17.

This is something that needs to go... seriously.

Look at the amount of shots that the cpu has rattle around the rim and fall in versus the amount thay you have rattle around and fall in. For me its like 10 to 1. Its hard to say that "some" of the stuff that happens in a game is not predetermined when the ball always seems to roll or bounce a certain way. Same thing with loose balls, tipped balls and blocked shots.

Those are highly discussed scripted situations where user is simply not allowed to have XY lead against CPU with XX:XX time left on the clock. Happens with blocks, rebounds, weird bounces and what not.

In general I feel like there have been quite a few impossible bounces on the rim in my games. I did not look too closely in fear of throwing my controller out of the window...

Play Now Online...of all places. It seems like it's been happening more frequent than it should.

Everything is scripted from when the shot is released. No better proof than the CPU bigs not boxing out if the shot is going in but turning Isaiah Thomas into Dennis Rodman when Curry misses a wide open 3 from the corner.

That's the one....I just don't know what to say to this. I don't even think the devs can do anything about this. They probably don't realize that the AI evolved on its own to cheat lol

Happened to me several times this year. I thought I was TRIPPING when it first happened. I looked at the replay at least ten times.

The ball clearly changed direction mid air so the cpu could get a made basket. I was flabbergasted

                          Re: Ball Changing Directions Mid-Air

I firmly believe that there is some scripting to an extend in all games.
                          Not just 2k

Some people call it momentum or anything, but I firmly believe that there is artificial boosts.
All companies are firmly denying this but it is hard not to wander what the hell is going onin situations than these, especially with the lay-up rolling in and suddenly rolling out

In my eyes these scripting situations happen more in the microtransaction modes like FUT/MUT/MyTEAM but it is clear that the exist in other modes too.

I played a game against a guy some days ago in PNO. He won by 2 points making all kinds of impossible shots through the game. I was at the point that I was mad, like the game had already decided he would win. I am telling, the guy didn't even know how to play. He was taking contested after contested shot all offences

Then, next game I am replaying him (common thing in European servers), same teams, same players, same defensive settings on my side/same style of play from both players. He quit early 3rd period down by 44-18. He bricked all shots that were fully contested.

Now I agree that the game can/should have some momentum/luck etc implemented and 2 games are not the same, but when the luck/momentum etc varies from a win to a 30 point blow-out in 2 consecutive games, it is pretty heavy stuff.

I just think its a awful glitch rather than any 'scripting'

If it was only happening in HUM vs. CPU games maybe

but like ksutt, I see it quite often in Play Now Online in a variety of situations.

I remember this same glitch being in NBA 2k9 but 10 times worse..

Maybe but there IS scripting in every game to some extend. Every AI would get ripped to shreds at some point eventually without it so you're cutting corners on every end. The trick is to hide it so it looks legit.
