The RUNNING GAME !!!!

OK, I have been playing the 2k series since the first one. But I have NOT been "playing" the 2K series. MAN!!! There is some stuff in this game that has been overlooked, underused, ignored, or whatever. I have been paying more attention this year to how I play this game and man its paying off.

For anyone having problems running I hope these tips help.

For ME the juke move does not work well using the triggers so first thing I changed was I use controller set up 2 which changes the stiff arm moves to the triggers and the juke moves to the white anf black buttons. Let me tell yah, I dont know if its me or what but the Jukes actually look better and work better now. I think its because I was not pulling the triggers hard enough or too hard or whatever but using the buttons has had a profound effect on how well I can execute it. ALSO I have noticed if you are running at a angle to the left or right and juke the opposite way of where yah headed when a defender is approaching you will juke him out his socks, and the SH** looks GOOD !

The biggest thing I am discovering is how much I have not taken advantage of the analog sticl when running, I have in the past been using it like its a D-Pad(Madden habits)
If you feather the analog stick in the direction you want to run instead of going full throttle on it, MAN you can make some sweet moves and have ALOT of control over your RB, if you just nudge it in the direction you want and follow a lead blocker then see someone coming at yah, go full throttle the other way and your RB will make the prettiest change of direction you will ever see in a video football game.

This coupled with the shoulder charge, and the spin move and a fineses back, and you will think you are Barry Sanders.

Just keep in mind, you do NOT have to push the analog stick full steam ahead to run at a decent rate of speed, especially while you are behind the LOS, once you past it and put a move on the first LB or safty thats free, you can then go full throttle and tap on A and its a race to the endzone.

Another thing that I think people don't take advantage of is the play diagram on the presnap. On the CPU, it's mad effective and let's you see who you're lineman are supposed to be blocking A LOT better.

Thats what I do for all my plays before the snap, especially for pass plays so I can see where all my WR's are going etc. I haven't had much trouble running the ball in the game, and this is my first 2k football game that I've ever played. Its awesome!

good post TombSong.

I agree deeper than deep.

subtle little things that some people may never experience.

Give this game time to find every way to play and it will be time for 2k6.

A good way to practice this technique is to run a lot of counter plays; it pretty much forces you to run behind your blockers and the play develops slower allowing you pick you hole/time to cut.

I thing that really helped my running games was not to touch the analog stick at first. I let the CPU run up to the line and then I take over once the RB gets to the hole. I think a lot of people are not running the play the way it was designed.
