    All-Star moments allen iverson help

people been asking me for help on this challenge so this is how i did it
step 1: guards who can score and are good at stealing the ball ( all-star difficulty easy to steal)
step 2 : slow offense with pick and rolls over forcing fast breaks
step 3 : don't get scared with the time just keep playing

Glad you put in written discussion/summary in this post, along with linking your video. It's nice to have the addition to the dialogue here.

I think I had to do this Challenge three times. I used the same lineup each time and it was practice with some players I wanted to get more used to, together, so not geared purely toward completing the challenge in a cheesy way.

Which isn't to say that I wasn't kind of cheesy. I was mainly scoring with Ruby Payton, posting up on Steph and shooting post-fades and other post shots (and post spins). If you were to use someone even bigger and stronger, then it would be even easier to exploit Curry from the high post quick enough that it's hard for CPU to get double-team over.

And when CPU double-teams, I had 4 shooters all around to dish to, including at Center (Sapph Embiid).

But I agree: play methodically and make sure you score. Take only really high % shots as, I think, 75% while using 20 seconds is more efficient than shooting 50% while using only 10 seconds, because you have to figure in CPU's time with the ball on other end.

Hardens defense isn't very good either. On the third try I put Larry Bird at the 2 and went to work on Harden and finally completed the challenge.

To me, this challenge is 100% about defense. Put your best defensive and rebounding squad out there, lock down the other side to the best of your ability and run in transition every chance you get. I was able to get the score tied with about 4 minutes left, and held them to only 15 points total by sticking Ben Wallace and Dikembe at the 4 and 5 and Magic at the 1.

This one took me a couple tries though I only won by 1.

I can't seem to get the 10 dunks one though. I always fall a couple short. The AI starts fouling a lot to keep me from getting dunks.

Fair enough, but there are serviceable cheaper options. I ran Ruby Lin at the 2 and Emerald Durant at the 3. So two of my players (Lin & Wallace) were rewards and Durant costs nothing. Sub Yao Ming for Dikembe because everyone has him, and you're on your way! You really only need 5 guys if you use your timeouts and you can fill the bench with bronze players.

You're right, Iverson challenge is all about defense. You can score on CPU with PnR with bronzes so offense is not an issue.

For the cheapest option, stack your team with dstoppers like Fat Lever/GP, Cooper/Tony Allen, Tayshaun, Josh Smith, Gasol/etc. The recent nba2klab tests on Defensive Stopper badge is pretty telling on how important that badge is on contested shots, gold badges were causing almost double % of misses versus no badge.

Also, for the dunk challenge, arguably easiest way to do it is to mismatch a big on a small guy and post spin dunk.

For the dunk challenge, all I did was take emerald John Wall (w/Cousins duo boost) and turbo past Mugsy for a bucket each time. I recommend playing a 4/1 set because this will keep the lane mostly clear and give you a chance to dish for the C and dunk if they come over. You may be thinking 5 out but the guys in the corner always take a few steps towards the paint at the very beginning of the set ruining spacing if you're just trying to dunk in the first 5 seconds of the shot clock.

And yeah, Iverson challenge is all about defense.

I won 107-102. Held the West Stars to 4-17 shooting. It really is about not panicking. If you play well enough in a 9 minute span, at some point, you'll go on a 8 or 10-0 run. The lead was at 15 with 5:30 to go, but i stayed confident and made my run. My offense was clicking in the half court, went off with Rose early, forcing double teams, then just started hitting open man.

I like to start a lineup with 5 capable 3pt shooters. Once the doubles come, whoever is open is shooting. Also held Curry to 1-8 shooting. Played Def with Ruby Giannis and Amy Boogie mostly. Subbed out Rose for the last 3 mins for Diamond Kidd to ratchet up the D. Worked perfectly, Kidd 3 stls in 3 mins. So once I got a lead, brought in extra defense, try that if you haven't yet.

PS...Went 14-18 from field as a team, 2-4 from 3 and 7-8 FT. Gotta be efficient

I have got to be missing something on the 10 dunk one.

                        I just can't do it.

I tried the 'John Wall turbo past mugsy' technique but Mugsy has decent lateral quickness and slows you down and the defense always helps.

I tried cheesing and putting everyone at odd positions and having Darryl Dawkins matched with Bugsy. But every time its slightly contested he does a layup instead of dunk.

Is there a way to force a contact dunk attempt that I'm missing?

I didn't check it while in game so I'm not entirely sure his lateral quickness but the 87 overall Mugsy has 66 on ball defense and lateral quickness. I think this one was a ~80 rated overall so I can't imagine that his defense is much better. Wall's 97 speed/96 speed with ball was enough to just take an initial angle around him and then get to the hoop. He's too fast for perimeter defense to collapse on him and if it's the C you can just dish it off to your big guy for a dunk. It's cheese for sure but it worked.

For me the Raptors play this who game sagging very deep into the paint on defense off shooters which would be a huge mistake if trying to win but pretty good at stopping dunks.

I don't know maybe its just getting in my head. I feel like I'm a pretty solid player and I've done every other Moments Challenge for the last several months without too much trouble but I've tried this one like 7 times and haven't gotten more than 8 dunks.

Whats the best way to ensure a dunk rather than a layup? That part is driving me nuts, too often my guy is wide open under the basket and I go up with Right trigger down and he lays it in.

                              You're probably overthinking it.

Fill your roster with 3 point shooters at 2-5. Then put a PF or C with good driving dunk, post control at 1. Isolate the PG away from basket and post spin. If you are trying to dunk it while crowded, you are probably going to get layup animation unless your player has high standing/driving dunk.
