Tons of flaws with the game are notable in this video IMO - but especially i'd say the passes that go over peoples head/cannot be stolen are game breaking. Is very hard to time these - because the passes are extremely quick - and the defensive animations are very slow. Tons of bail out animations/ makes - an athletic finisher making consistent 3s.

This game is not broken at all nah. Offense is OP/easy - Defense is underpowered. Great stuff.

Feel free to leave your thoughts - IMO there's clearly lots of issues with this game and this video showcases some.

Bad defense is bad. I play alot of inside and I've never had problems with the people that try to abuse the lead passes. People just have slow reaction and anticipation.

This video is a joke. The hilariously childish commentating along with camping around the half court line. "**** doesnt matter yall!" This is terrible defense but that doesnt excuse the terrible passes being completed. Examples:

1. At 2:01 that pass is absurd. Pass whizzes right between two peoples bodies.
2. At 2:58 pass goes right by the defender into a one handed auto catch for the receiver, why is the defender not given the same capability. The pass animations are so tethered to the catch animations, of course only for offense or defensive cpu.
3. At 3:11 he even says "I'm forcing it up there, doesnt matter" Right before he throws another Tom Brady dime that the defense cant tip but the offence can catch in stride .

And then the jumpers being made.....

I sure do. Yesterday this guy threw a lead pass and the game slid my paint protector away from the basket on the catch.

A few plays later the PG threw a lead pass I tipped, turned my grand badge on , and the pass still connected. The trajectory was not affected at all.

Yeah 2K doesn't punish you for making those silly passes no matter what the defense does sometimes. On the other hand, how do you not get back/double/triple that guy? That other team was a joke tbh. Make someone else beat you. It's called adjusting.

In 2K17, any build can hit a corner three (especially when the passer has hall of fame dimer), and any build can dunk the ball after getting open by cutting to the basket. I don't see any special skills in that gameplay that are only possible with one particular build.

The only things that standout in that performance were how awful the defense was and how many times a contested lead pass should have been tipped/intercepted but wasn't because of 2K's archaic pass tethering system that unrealistically favors the offense.

Thank you - obviously there's bad defense in this video - but that's largely because the games mechanics are terrible defensively - and there are so many bail outs on offense. Offense is easy compared to defense in this game - this has been a topic discussed in other threads.

Correct me if i'm wrong - did people score so many points online in previous 2ks?... i'm sure it happened once atleast - but this year it seems to be too easy. I've seen several videos of people just dominating easily without much effort - mostly through unrealistic methods aka bail outs.

Maybe i'm wrong and it did happen in previous 2ks - doesn't change the fact that there are clearly issues with the game that make this too easy.

Actually - i disagree on something here - there are obviously certain builds that have advantages - the guy on the video was using an athletic finisher. He made several contested layups and dunks on peoples faces. So i would say that totally is only possible with slasher - atleast consistently. If any other builds - is probably tall builds to my knowledge. Which is known that tall builds are easy money inside. Too easy i'd argue - but the too easy argument is relevant to many things.

The main point of having a discussion about this - is that i disagree that defense is easily to blame on the people - it is largely because the game favors offense over defense. You move slower on defense - you react slower - more situanional etc etc. The rarely tipped passing is just an example of that.

It's much more of a challenge to play defense in this game than it is to score - there are tons of builds with bail outs - that take no skill just press a button.

Dunking on people / easy contested layups over people / shooting from almost halfcourt at a high % / breaking ankles because why not / spamming unguardable dribble moves because why not (so called dribble gods, search it).

Tons of builds have bail outs focused on offense / not defense. There's no balance between offense and defense. Is an offensive based game.

The game would be more interesting and fun if defensive mechanics were up to par. But right now it's easy to play offense - it's a challenge to defend against it when all these things are taken into account. I believe this is a good representation.

I think some people here saying "o they just suck at defense" - are not being honest. If they were in that team - i doubt there was much they could do on defense. Other than outscore the other team.

Because at the end of the day - this game is mainly about outscoring the other team. Not getting stops. Some things mentioned above are bail outs and can't be helped.

He would've been stripped so many times and caught with so many offball charges that he wouldn't have wanted that ball anymore.

Hmm, you really deny that this game is extremely sluggish on the defensive side? - some passes you saw in that video shouldn't matter if the person pressed steal - it's not realisitc to just throw a crazy pass in traffic and for it to connect 90% of the time. In essense - such things rewards players for using cheesy tactics. It doesn't create any real skill gap. But i guess that's fine with you? - some people want the game to be arcade - can't be helped.

Just to be clear - if i did that over and over - i would not be satisfied. Because it's clearly just a cheesy tactic that degrades the game.

But i guess if you have a different experience - it's up to debate. My experience with the game has been similar to what the video displays in that aspect. So i'm fine with it being balanced.

I'm curious if you would have tipped the ball - and if you didn't - what your reaction would be. Just have to be faster next time i guess?. That's fair, plan that out while i pull from half court.

They definitely lacked IQ to handle it - although if the whole team was good - they all were a threat so it's not easy to just focus on one guy. Especially when every build can pull from 3 and - there's a build that can pull from almost half court. Which is not easy to defend. Not to mention OP screens, Defense being sluggish compared to offense - etc etc.

I wonder if you would have been fouledd out though (cause that 99 draw foul is sure cool to have) - and if the charges you set would be ignored by 2k and you would just fall like a flopping fish. Would be interesting too see lol. But nah i'm sure most would handle this situation easily - 2k bs rarely intervenes.

You're putting words in my mouth. Literally the only thing I said was that I've not had problems with stopping the cheesy lead passes. I didn't say anything about being okay with anything. I don't disagree that the defense is sluggish.

2K is afraid to up the difficulty of the offense because it would alienate a large portion of their player-base who dont actually have a clue how to play basketball

Man there's a reason the only 2K guys I can watch are clean. The likes of Chris Smoove, Shakedown and QJB don't swear but honestly this games community is toxic, full of inarticulate idiots who can't vocalize properly. I watched a video recently where a guy ended every sentence with either 'bruh' or 'y'all n***as'. I have and do use both those words in my every day life but not when I'm in presenting something.

I don't care too much for the video itself, I don't play Pro Am. I care more about how dumbed down this community has become with the rise of channels like this.
