Is there more marketing for MLB 17 than before ??

I am the only one that has noticed but SDS ( or Sony ) has been really marketing the heck out of " Show 17 " more than ever before ?? In years past there have been advertising but this year there has been many more pre-advertising videos than I can ever remember ie : SDS, GameSpot, IGN, Show Nation, Twitter, ect. I think it is awesome plus we are getting to see more game play and options that are available. Makes me even more excited to get the game hopefully it does the same for some players that have been on the fence and for new players. Awesome job SDS.

One of the TVs in our cafeteria has ESPN on most days and even though I could not hear it there was a commercial for the show on while I was in there today.

I think they're doing a great job. I wonder if it's the SDS guys or if they have sony's external marketing support for this.

More copies sold means more years of The Show to come.

Their 15-second spot ads are also all over MLB.TV during their commercial breaks. There's definitely a lot of exposure this year.

I was just going to post this, I'm seeing tons of MLB.TV spots. Good for SDS, I hope it pays dividends and that 17 is the most successful version of The Show to date.

I havent seen this much push since the old days of Kevin "Well Played, Mauer" Butler.
Maybe this will be the year the Show reaches 2 million sales.

The commercial that repeats "This guy..." while showing cartoon like animations over the game is horrendous. It shows me very little about the game and tells me nothing. Obviously it also actually obstructs a solid portion of the games excellent visuals as well. What's the point of that? It looks like a joke and wouldn't make me want to buy the game if that was the first info I ever had about this year's game. Worst commercial they've ever done by far. It's not funny but most of all it's not informative in any way.

I don't know about 2 million, but considering about 10 million PS4's have been sold in the last year, if only 9 % of those buyers are baseball fans and also buy The Show 17, it could happen (I think MLB 16 sold 1.1 million copies or something like that?).

Thinking about it a moment ago I also realized it kinda doesn't even look like The Show. It makes me wanna say "How can that be the show with all the goofiness?" We know that silliness isn't in the game but I'm sure that could be misleading for many who think this is some joke of a game.

If I was an MLB general manager - fat chance - I would hire Russell and double his current salary. He does a better job of promoting and marketing this game than a lot of MLB teams do with their real life teams.

Yes, its a very stupid commercial. One of their big improvements this year are faces but yet they hide every face in the commercial. The commercial is so bad it's borderline embarrassing. Doesn't sell the product at all.
