- Dribbling
Dribbling seems way smoother. I feel more free when I put together combo dribble moves. I also feel like the moves mesh with each way better and they feel more fluid.
- Defense
Now I could be wrong but am I the only one that feels like the lateral quickness is better? I didn't see this in the patch notes but I felt like they improved it when I was playing the game. It stills needs improvement overall so let me not steer you guys wrong lol.
- Fastbreaks
Now everybody knows that animation where you catch a rebound or a steal and your trying to run on a fastbreak but the defender that's BEHIND you is literally holding you back. I didn't see that happen at all and to be a playmaker this made me feel so much better about the game because now I am able to run on the break to find some open guys or take it in myself. I just feel more free on fastbreaks in general.
Things That Still Need To Be Fixed For NBA 2K18
- Forced Layups
I'm still seeing this happen. I try to pump fake and instead it makes my player force a layup. I like the animation don't get me wrong but it should only happen when your actually trying to force a layup and not when your trying to pump fake.
- Bad Post Defense
I don't play center but I see it all the time and its an eyesore. A center will literally do a standing dunk on another center like he's not even there. No physicality going on or nothing. It's literally like your not there and the offensive player gets a free dunk. Maybe on smaller players I could accept this but not on centers that ACTUALLY play good defense. This is one of the things that needs to be addressed in NBA 2K18.
- Highly Contested Shots Going In
Now I understand that NBA players can once in awhile make a highly contested shot but how frequent it happens in this game is kind of bad. They just dropped some shooting slider tweaks today and I have yet to test them out so hopefully I can edit and delete this part of the post when I get on later tonight lol.
- The Unnecessary Euro-Step Floater
Now I haven't seen anybody complain about this on the forums so I guess I'll be the first one to set it off lol. Me being a 6'4 PG I know that I can't always get all the way to the rim because of the big men that protect it. So I do a lot of floaters to give myself that space in between me and them. But one thing that make me not want to use floaters sometimes is the Euro-Step that happens before it. It's unnecessary and 9 times out of 10 results in a block for me. It's very frustrating. Don't get me wrong because again I LIKE THE ANIMATION but it shouldn't be forced on the player when I'm just trying to do a floater. A GREAT way to keep this animation and to keep regular floaters is to be able to do a floater out of a Euro-Step. How that would work is basically when you double tap Square for a Euro-Step you should be able to pull back on the Right Stick for a floater to possibly avoid a block if a second defender is near. This would give the user WAY MORE CONTROL and you would actually need stick skills to pull this off. I'm sure everyone can agree that that would be a great idea.
- Driving Fake Pass Out Of Bounds
I've pulled this off ONE TIME without actually going out of bounds and laying the ball up with my player lol but it's just not responsive enough. I don't like the fact that you have to time the Square button after the fake pass on the drive in order to avoid going out of bounds. I fake pass on the drive and immediately click square but because clicking square right after the fake pass is to early it causes my player to go out of bounds. Now as much as you might not agree, again, I LOVE THE ANIMATION but I should be able to click square immediately after the fake pass to lay the ball up. A way you guys could keep this animation in but make it work at the same time is if a guy fake passes on the drive and DOESN'T click square at all he should either TRAVEL or go out of bounds like the regular animation, But you shouldn't be penalized for clicking square immediately after fake passing because laying the ball up after the fake pass is just realistic and another way to give players more options is to be able to choose the direction you want to fake pass to on the drive and instead of laying the ball up after you should also be able to pass after the fake pass. I've seen Rondo do this plenty of times and this would make the game more eye candy and make the real guys with skill on the sticks stand out.
- Spin Move Hesitation
I had to add this in because I don't know if anybody else talks about it but I hate when I setup a perfect spin move on a guy and instead of me doing a full spin move and then drive to the basket it makes me hesitate and stepback. This has messed up so many perfect fastbreaks for me and is another eyesore. If I want to do a spin move into a stepback let me choose to do that.
