    Draft Class Strength/ Potential Balance

Hey fellow nba 2k simmers im new here

    my history:
    I played nba 2k14 before, and nba 2k17 now, i'm a simmer

There seems to be unbalance and flaws in mygm/ myleague and I'm trying my best to balance them to make them playable after a few years

    Problems:

    * nba 2k roster is dumb

    * not enough 90+ ovr players

    * not enough playing time for players with same ovr

    * Several 90+ 3 pt

    * auto generated rookies are crap

    How I play:

    * I edit the current roster

( I made Green, Klays, etc. overall lower)

    * I edit the potentials too

I made assumptions on whether a young player will be good

    90 - 99 - HOF

    85 - 90 - All Star

    80 - 85 - Potential All Star

    75 - 80 - Starter

    70 - 75 - Role Player

    40 - 70 - Benchwarmers or Free Agent

( I made almost half of the young players 70 - 75 pot

I made their peak end the year after their peak start

except for Giannis, Booker, Porzingis, Maker, etc.)

I did not edit the old guys since they will regress anyway

    * I use Lorenzo's Team Training Sliders to remove the 3 point cheese

    * I make my own custom Draft Classes

I use a player generator by Turty for reference then edit if too big values

    65 player progression
    50 player regression
    20 in season training

    > Ive been looking at basketball reference draft classes 2000- 2010 for idea
on how many potential per draft class should i generate

    0 - 2 90+ potential guy with 75- 80 ovr

    1 - 3 85+ potential guy with 70 - 75 ovr

    2 - 3 80+ potential guy with 65 - 75 ovr

    3 - 7 75+ potential guy with 60 - 70 ovr

    40 + 75- potential guy with 60 - 70 ovr

    * I edit player development ( create busts / sleepers/ Iron man)

peak start is the celing a player can reach
peak end is when the player will regress

    A superstar needs 6 -7 years before peak start to get to 90+ with 4 - 5
    jump each season

A Sleeper also need 6 - 7 years before peak start

An Iron man has 75 - 85 potential and late peak end

*How long do I do all this stuff?
several hours and when i'm bored I play the classic lakers and Shaq

Re: Draft Class Strength/ Potential Balance

That's a lot of work lol, any chance you'll share the roster and draft class? Would be interested in trying it.

Ps, if you like Kobe and Shaq Lakers you should do a MyLEAGUE with 97 Lakers, it's great fun knowing what Kobe is going to be
