Re: IMAV3RIQ - Exclusive MUT Squads info with Devs
Rex starts talking at 10-minute mark. Says the only way they were going to bring back team play was if they made every position fun to play. They invested big on WR/DB mechanics. Built whole new interaction system for getting off the line; press, beat press, chucking a guy inside or outside, rerouting. Says it creates interesting user/user dynamic outside, individual meta out there.
Other thing added was a cut move mechanic. For people who want to cut precisely. Hold bumper and flick the right stick in the direction you want to cut for a sharp cut. Cut modifier. Calls target passing a very hardcore mechanic. Says mid-core guys like himself sometimes call it a "target interception mechanic" because it is so difficult to use. People who are going to benefit the most are going to spend thousands of hours in the lab figuring out holes in the defense, etc. Very in-depth mechanic he says. |

Hoping that all the gameplay stuff Rex is talking about can be experienced in User vs CPU games.

Holy [emoji90]!!! I have to say, there are many ways target passing could've gone. And, I think there are multiple ways that I would've accepted. It could be easy to learn, tough to master. It could be a slight mod to current passing. But, to be honest, I think I like him saying it's a 'hardcore' mechanic. As much as I like sim and consider myself a sim guy, I also love control. And, when it comes to certain game mechanics, I enjoy figuring out how to master them. I'm not a H2H guy, so it's not important for me to master to be better than the next guy. But, I totally enjoy figuring out how to master something if it gives me more realism. So, I think I'm def looking forward to this. And, if it's too hard, oh well. Lol. IMO, any User vs CPU player who talks about the lack of challenge from the CPU opponent would have use target passing as an equalizer.

U know, interestingly enough, I remember discussing sliders with a few people a few games ago. It could've been 16, but maybe it was 25 or 15. Either way, if u looked at anyone's sliders, they always put HUM QB ACC at 4-5 or something really low. And, there have been plenty of discussions on this. For me, with Matt Ryan, when I got to 43-45, I already saw poor throws. And, after discussing with some people, I realized why. I always used total control passing. And, lowering the acc slider completely screwed with total control passing. Lol. Not sure how many people ever noticed this, and whether it's still true for 17. But, when I talked to people, they mentioned that they never used total control, they just step back and throw, I guess. The trouble was, that I didn't want to throttle my pressure on the stick, u know? Lol. If I want to throw to the right, I hard stick to the right. If QB acc is at 43, or worse, at 4, this was an incompletion 100% of the time. But, I'm now thinking that even if this targeted passing is 'pressure sensitive,' I think I'll go for it for the challenge and for the extra control I like. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I'm really interested now to see target passing in action.

It sounds like target pass will be similar to Axis football from this video. I hope a big white circle is not on the field like shown here.
